Replacing a fuse

on the fuse box.

Special front windscreen
wiper position

Changing a wiper blade
L i f t t h e w i p e r a r m , t h e n u n c l i p t h e
blade and remove it.
F i t t h e n e w b l a d e a n d p u s h b a c k
the arm.
Note: t h e s h o r t e s t b l a d e i s i t t e d o n
t h e v e h i c l e ' s r i g h t - h a n d w i n d s c r e e n
w i p e r a r m .
To return the windscreen wipers to
their normal position, switch on the
ignition and operate the wiper stalk.
BATTERY
To charge the battery using a
battery charger:
- D i s c o n n e c t t h e b a t t e r y s t a r t i n g
w i t h t h e n e g a t i v e ( - ) t e r m i n a l ,
- F o l l o w t h e i n s t r u c t i o n s f o r u s e g i v e n b y t h e b a t t e r y c h a r g e r m a n u -
facturer,
- C h e c k t h a t t h e t e r m i n a l s a n d c o n n e c t o r s a r e c l e a n ; i f t h e y a r e
c o v e r e d w i t h s u l p h a t e ( w h i t e o r
g r e e n i s h d e p o s i t ) , d i s c o n n e c t
them and clean them,
- R e c o n n e c t t h e b a t t e r y s t a r t i n g w i t h t h e n e g a t i v e ( - ) t e r m i n a l .
It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is not to be
used for a period of more than
one month.
To start the vehicle from
another battery:
- C o n n e c t t h e r e d c a b l e t o t h e p o s i -
t i v e ( + ) t e r m i n a l s o f t h e t w o b a t t e r -
ies,
- C o n n e c t o n e e n d o f t h e g r e e n o r
b l a c k c a b l e t o t h e n e g a t i v e ( - ) t e r -
minal of the slave battery,
- C o n n e c t t h e o t h e r e n d o f t h e g r e e n o r b l a c k c a b l e t o a n e a r t h p o i n t o n
t h e b r o k e n d o w n v e h i c l e a s f a r a s
p o s s i b l e f r o m t h e b a t t e r y ,

O p e r a t e t h e s t a r t e r , l e t t h e e n g i n e r u n ,
- W a i t f o r t h e e n g i n e t o r e t u r n t o idle, then disconnect the cables.
WIPER BLADE
B e f o r e d i s c o n n e c t i n g t h e b a t -
t e r y , y o u m u s t w a i t f o r 2 m i n u t e s
a f t e r s w i t c h i n g o f f t h e i g n i t i o n .
Never disconnect a terminal
w h e n t h e e n g i n e i s r u n n i n g .
N e v e r c h a r g e a b a t t e r y w i t h o u t
i r s t d i s c o n n e c t i n g t h e t e r m i n a l s .
C l o s e t h e w i n d o w s , t h e r e t r a c t -
able roof and the doors before
disconnecting the battery. If the
w i n d o w s d o n o t o p e r a t e n o r m a l -
l y f o l l o w i n g r e c o n n e c t i o n o f t h e
battery, they must be reinitialised
( s e e s e c t i o n s " R e i n i t i a l i s a t i o n o f
t h e e l e c t r i c w i n d o w s " a n d " R e i n i -
t i a l i s a t i o n o f t h e a u t o m a t i c p a r t i a l
o p e n i n g o f t h e d o o r w i n d o w s " ) .
After every reconnection of the
b a t t e r y , s w i t c h o n t h e i g n i t i o n
a n d w a i t 1 m i n u t e b e f o r e s t a r t i n g
t o a l l o w t h e e l e c t r o n i c s y s t e m s t o
b e i n i t i a l i s e d . I f s l i g h t d i f i c u l t i e s
a r e e x p e r i e n c e d a f t e r t h i s , p l e a s e
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

battery, the remote control key
a n d t h e G P S s a t e l l i t e n a v i g a -
tion system must be reinitialised

A f t e r t h e e n g i n e h a s s t o p p e d , c e r t a i n
f u n c t i o n s ( w i n d s c r e e n w i p e r , e l e c -
t r i c w i n d o w s , c o u r t e s y l i g h t s , a u d i o
e q u i p m e n t , t e l e p h o n e , d i p p e d h e a d -
l a m p s , e t c . ) c a n o n l y b e u s e d f o r a
c o m b i n e d d u r a t i o n o f a p p r o x i m a t e l y
t h i r t y m i n u t e s , t o p r e v e n t d i s c h a r g i n g
the battery.
Once the thirty minutes are over, a
s w i t c h i n g t o e c o n o m y m o d e m e s -
s a g e a p p e a r s o n t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n
d i s p l a y a n d t h e a c t i v e f u n c t i o n s a r e
p u t o n s t a n d b y .
T h e s e f u n c t i o n s a r e r e a c t i v a t e d a u -
tomatically next time the vehicle is
driven.
In order to resume the use of these
functions immediately, the engine
must be started and left to run for a
f e w m i n u t e s .
T h e t i m e a v a i l a b l e t o y o u w i l l t h e n b e
d o u b l e t h e d u r a t i o n f o r w h i c h t h e e n -
g i n e i s l e f t r u n n i n g . H o w e v e r , t h i s p e -

LOAD REDUCTION
FUNCTION
When driving, certain functions (air
conditioning, heated rear screen,
h e a t i n g s y s t e m f o r p a s s e n g e r c o m -
p a r t m e n t o f d i e s e l v e h i c l e s , e t c . ) m a y
b e s w i t c h e d o f f t e m p o r a r i l y , d e p e n d -
ing on the level of battery charge.
R e a c t i v a t i o n o f t h e s e f u n c t i o n s i s a u -
tomatic, once the battery charge is
s u f i c i e n t .
Note: at the risk of discharging the
battery, the functions that have been
s w i t c h e d o f f m a y b e r e a c t i v a t e d
manually.
The batteries contain harmful
s u b s t a n c e s s u c h a s s u l p h u r i c
acid and lead. They must be
d i s p o s e d o f i n a c c o r d a n c e w i t h
regulations and must never be
d i s c a r d e d w i t h h o u s e h o l d w a s t e .
