When the engine is running and the
v e h i c l e i s m o v i n g , i t l a s h e s i f t h e
system is activated.
I t i s l i t c o n t i n u o u s l y w h e n t h e s y s t e m
is disarmed.

malfunction of the emission control
system.

function of the ABS.
H o w e v e r , t h e v e h i c l e r e t a i n s c o n v e n -
t i o n a l s e r v o - a s s i s t e d b r a k i n g .

fastened warning light
W h e n t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d
on, the light comes on if the
driver has not fastened his
seat belt.
With the engine running and the
d o o r s c l o s e d , t h e l i g h t s w i t c h e s o f f
automatically after 30 seconds.
I f t h e s e a t b e l t i s u n f a s t e n e d :
- b e l o w 1 2 m p h ( 2 0 k m / h ) , t h e l i g h t comes on constantly,
- a b o v e 1 2 m p h ( 2 0 k m / h ) a n d f o r t w o m i n u t e s , t h e l i g h t l a s h e s a c -
c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l
of increasing volume. Once these
t w o m i n u t e s h a v e e l a p s e d , t h e
light remains on until the driver
fastens his seat belt.

"Rearwards-facing"
W h e n a " r e a r w a r d s - f a c i n g " c h i l d s e a t
is installed on the
front passenger
seat , i t i s e s s e n t i a l t h a t t h e p a s s e n -
g e r a i r b a g i s d i s a r m e d . O t h e r w i s e ,
the child would risk being seri-
ously injured or killed if the air bag
w e r e t o i n l a t e .

TO CHILD SEATS
Although one of PEUGEOT's main
c r i t e r i a w h e n d e s i g n i n g y o u r v e h i c l e ,
t h e s a f e t y o f y o u r c h i l d r e n a l s o d e -
p e n d s o n y o u .
F o r m a x i m u m s a f e t y , p l e a s e f o l l o w
t h e s e p r e c a u t i o n s :
- i n a c c o r d a n c e w i t h D i r e c t i v e
2003/20, all children under
the age of 12 or less than one
m e t r e i f t y * t a l l m u s t t r a v e l i n
approved child seats suited to
their weight , o n s e a t s i t t e d w i t h a
seat belt or ISOFIX mountings * ,
- statistically, the safest seats in
your vehicle for the transpor-
tation of children are the rear
seats,
- a child weighing less than 9 kg
must travel in the "rearwards-
facing" position both in the
front and in the rear.
PEUGEOT recommends t h a t c h i l -
dren should travel in the rear seats
o f y o u r v e h i c l e :
- "rearwards-facing" u p t o t h e
age of 2,
- "forwards-facing" over the age
of 2.
