LIGHTS
A permanently lit warning light or
o n e t h a t l a s h e s w i t h t h e e n g i n e
running, indicates an operating fault
in the relevant unit. Some warning
lights may be linked to buzzers and
a message on the multifunction dis-
play. Do not ignore this warning:
contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
as possible.
If the Central STOP warning light
comes on when you are driving,
stop immediately where it is safe
to do so.

If it remains on or comes on above
8 m p h ( 1 2 k m / h ) , t h i s i n d i c a t e s a m a l -
function of the ABS.
H o w e v e r , t h e v e h i c l e r e t a i n s c o n v e n -
t i o n a l s e r v o - a s s i s t e d b r a k i n g .

Contact a PEUGEOT dealer. Seat belt unfastened/not
fastened warning light
W h e n t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d
on, the light comes on if the
driver has not fastened his
seat belt.
With the engine running and the
d o o r s c l o s e d , t h e l i g h t s w i t c h e s o f f
automatically after 30 seconds.
I f t h e s e a t b e l t i s u n f a s t e n e d :
- b e l o w 1 2 m p h ( 2 0 k m / h ) , t h e l i g h t comes on constantly,
- a b o v e 1 2 m p h ( 2 0 k m / h ) a n d f o r t w o m i n u t e s , t h e l i g h t l a s h e s a c -
c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l
of increasing volume. Once these
t w o m i n u t e s h a v e e l a p s e d , t h e
light remains on until the driver
fastens his seat belt.

The ignition key has an electronic
c h i p w h i c h h a s a s p e c i a l c o d e . W h e n
t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , t h e c o d e
i s r e c o g n i s e d a n d s t a r t i n g i s p o s -
sible.
If the system does not function
correctly, t h e s e r v i c e w a r n i n g l i g h t
c o m e s o n , a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u -
dible signal and a message on the
m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y .

Using the key
Turn the key in the lock on the
driver's door to lock the vehicle.

When the vehicle is locked,
i f u n l o c k i n g i s a c t i v a t e d i n a d -
v e r t e n t l y w i t h o u t a d o o r b e i n g
o p e n e d w i t h i n 3 0 s e c o n d s ,
t h e v e h i c l e w i l l l o c k a u t o m a t i c a l l y .
T h e f o l d i n g a n d u n f o l d i n g o f t h e e x -
terior mirrors can be deactivated by
a PEUGEOT dealer.
To locate your vehicle, if
you have locked it, in a

Make a careful note of the
number on each key. The
key number is coded on the
label attached to the key.
If the keys are lost, your PEUGEOT
dealer can rapidly supply you with
new keys.
The high frequency remote control
is a sensitive system; do not ope-
rate it while it is in your pocket as
there is a possibility that it may
unlock your vehicle, without you
being aware of it.
The remote control does not oper-
ate when the key is in the ignition,
even when the ignition is switched
off, except for reprogramming.
Do not operate the deadlocking
function if there is anyone inside
the vehicle.
Driving with the doors locked may
make access to the passenger
compartment by the emergency
s e r v i c e s m o r e d i f i c u l t i n a n e m e r -
gency.
As a safety precaution (with chil-
dren on board), remove the ig-
nition key when you leave the
vehicle, even for a short time.
Do not repeatedly press the but-
ton of your remote control out of
range and out of sight of your ve-
hicle. You run the risk of stopping
it from working and the remote
control would have to be repro-
grammed.
When purchasing a second-hand
vehicle:
- ensure that you are given the
c o n i d e n t i a l c a r d ;
- have the key codes memo-
rised by a PEUGEOT dealer,
to ensure that the keys in your
possession are the only ones
which can start the vehicle.
