WARNING LIGHTS AND INDICATORS
A permanently lit warning light, or flashing with the engine running, is an indication of a malfunction in the relevant unit. Some warning lights may
be linked to buzzers and a message on the multi–function display. Do notignore this warning: contact a PEUGEOT dealer as quickly as possible.
If the Central (STOP) warning light comes on when you are driving, stop your vehicle immediately where it is safe to do so.Central (STOP) warning light
Linked to the "engine oil pressure", ''the low brake fluid level'', '' the coolant temperature gauge'' and ''electronic brake force distribu-tion system fault'' warning lights. It comes on each time the igni-
tion is switched on.
Stop immediately if it flashes with the engine running.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine oil pressure warning light
Linked to the central (STOP) warning light.Stop immediately if it comes on with the engine running.
It indicates either:
– insufficient oil pressure,
– lack of oil in the lubrication circuit. Top up the oil level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible. Low coolant level warning light
Stop immediately. Allow the engine to cool before top- ping up. The cooling system is pressurised.In case of overheating, to prevent the risk of scalding, turn the cap tothe first notch to allow the pressureto drop. Once the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Fuel filler cap warning light This comes on if the fuel cap is not correctly screwed
on or is missing.

Passenger air bag disarming warninglight Lighting of this warning light
is accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the multi–function
display. If the passenger air bag isdisarmed, the indicator light comeson when the ignition is switched onand remains on. In all cases, if the warning light flashes,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Air bag warning light The warning light comes on for 6 seconds when the igni-tion is switched on.
This warning light comes on whenthe vehicle is running and is accom-panied by an audible signal and amessage on the multi–function dis-play indicating the cause of the front,side or curtain air bag fault.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Water in diesel filter warning light (depending on destination)
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
There is a risk of damage to the injection system.
Diesel pre-heating indicator light If the engine is warm enough, the light will not come on, and you can start the engine without waiting.
If the light comes on, wait until it goes out before trying the starter.
Engine diagnostics warning light This comes on each time the ignition is switched on.If it is lit continuously with the engine runnning, this indicates a fault in
the emission control system.If it flashes with the engine running, this indicates a malfunction in the injection
or ignition system. There is a risk of damage to the catalytic converter (petrol
engine only). Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as possible.
Battery charge warning light This comes on each time the ignition is switched on.If it comes on with the engine running it can indicate:
– faulty operation of the charging circuit,
– loose battery or starter terminals,
– a cut or slack alternator belt,
– an alternator fault.

To quickly de-ice or demist the wind- screen and the side windows:
set the temperature and air flow controls to maximum,
close the central vents.

4 - Air intake control
Recirculation of the interior air (indi-cator light on). This position prevents the entry of unpleasant odours or fumes fromoutside and increases the speed ofheating. As soon as possible, place the control in the outside air position,otherwise there is a risk of thewindows misting up. 5 - Demisting the rear
screen
With the engine running, pressingthe switch demists the rear screenand the mirrors.
It switches off automatically after approximately fifteen minutes. Press again to resume demisting.If the engine is stopped before the end of the fifteen minutes, demistingwill resume when the engine isswitched on again. It is possible to stop the demisting
operation before it goes off automati-
cally, by pressing the switch again.

To quickly de-ice or demist the wind- screen and the side windows:

Used simultaneously with the air conditioning, recirculation improvesthe performance of the system whenset to hot as well as to cold. Used in humid conditions, recircula- tion risks misting up the windows. As soon as possible, place the control in the outside air position. 6 - Demisting the rear
screen
With the engine running, pressingthe switch demists the rear screenand the mirrors.
It switches off automatically after approximately fifteen minutes. Press again to resume demisting. It is possible to stop the demisting
operation before it goes off automat-
ically, by pressing the switch again. Important precaution Operate the air conditioning for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a month,
to keep it in good working order. If the system does not produce cold
air, do not use it and contact your
PEUGEOT dealer. Note: The condensation created by
the air conditioning causes a normal flow of water under the vehicle when
stationary.
