AUTOMATIC SWITCHING ON OF THE LIGHTS Side lights and dipped beam head- lamps switch on automatically if the
light is poor, or during continuousoperation of the windscreen wipers.
They switch off as soon as the lightbecomes bright enough or the wind-screen wipers stop. This function is active when the vehi-
cle is supplied to the customer.
To disarm or activate the function:
Start with the key in the accesso- ries position (1st notch),
Press the end of the stalk for more than two seconds.
Note: In foggy weather, the bright-
ness sensor can detect sufficientlight. Because of this, the lights do
not come on automatically. Do not cover the brightness sen-
sor connected to the rain sensor,located in the windscreen behind
the mirror. It is used for automaticswitching on of the lights. Operating check
Triggering of the sensor
Triggering of this function is accom- panied by an audible signal and themessage
"Automatic lighting of
the headlamps activated" on the
multi–function display. Note: Always operate the lighting
controls manually where this is pos- sible. Disarming Disarming of the function is accom- panied by an audible signal. When driving, if this function is
switched off when the headlampswould switch on in automatic mode,the lights remain on. It is however possible to disarm this
function and switch off the lights by:
- manually switching off the lights using the lights stalk,
- switching off the engine.

If the brightness sensor does not
function correctly, the system acti-
vates the function (the lights come
on). The driver is alerted by theflashing of the 'dipped beam' warn-ing light on the instrument panel.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have the system checked. Follow me Home When there is a low level of bright- ness or at night, if you leave yourvehicle, the side lights and thedipped beam lights may remain onfor approximately one minute.
To do this: place the lights stalk in the AUTO
position,
place the key in the accessories position (first notch on key),
press the end of the lights stalk formore than two seconds,
place the lights stalk in the 0position,
flash the headlamps,
get out of the car and lock it.

Rear screen wiper (estate)
Turn ring Ato the first notch,
for intermittent wiping. Rear screen wash (estate)
Turn ring Abeyond the first
notch; the windscreen wash then the windscreen wiperoperate for a fixed period.
WINDSCREEN WIPER STALK Front windscreen wipers2 . Rapid wipe (heavy rain)

AUTO Automatic wipe

∀Single wipe (press downwards).
Operation In position 1or 2, when the vehicle
stops, the windscreen wiper changes to a lower wiping speed, thenresumes its initial speed when thevehicle starts again. When the ignition has been switched off for more than a
minute with the stalk in the AUTOposition, it is necesary to reacti-vate this function. To do this, move
the stalk to any position, then move itback to the AUTOposition. Automatic windscreen wiper In the
AUTO position, the wipers
operate automatically and adjust
their speed to the intensity of the rainfall. Operating check Switching on Activation of the function is accom- panied by the message 'Automatic
windscreen wiper actuated' on the
multi–function display. In the event of malfunction in the
AUTO position, the windscreen wiper
will operate in downgrade mode.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have the system checked.

Do not mask the rain detector located on thewindscreen behind the
interior mirror.
If you take the vehicle to an auto-matic car wash, switch off the igni-tion or check that the windscreenwiper stalk is not in the automaticposition.
In Winter, it is advisable to wait for complete de-icing of the wind-screen before switching on theautomatic wipe.
Windscreen and headlamp wash Pull the windscreen wiper stalk towards you. The windscreen wash then the wind- screen wipers operate for a fixed
period. The windscreen wash andheadlamp wash operate simultane-ously for a few seconds, only if the
dipped beam or main beam head-lamps are on.

Horn Press one of the spokes or the centre of the steeringwheel.
Adjusting the headlamps Depending on the load in your vehi- cle, adjusting the beam of the head-lamps is recommended as follows.0- 1 or 2 people in the front seats.
–- 3 people.
1- 5 people.
2- 5 people + maximum authorised load.
3- Driver + maximum authorised load.
Initial setting is position 0. Hazard warning lights Press the button, the direction indi- cators flash. They can operate with the ignition
off.
Steering wheel height and depth adjustment
When the vehicle is stationary, unlock the steering wheel by pullinghandle
A.
Adjust the height and depth of thesteering wheel, then lock it by push-ing handle Adown fully.

Automatic lighting of hazard warning lights*
When braking in an emergency, depending on the force of decelera-tion, the hazard warning lights come
on automatically. they switch of auto-matically the first time you accelerate.
However, it is also possible to switch
them off by pressing the button.

Amber bulbs must be replaced by bulbs of iden-tical specification and
colour.
In certain weather conditions (lowtemperatures, humidity), the pre-
sence of condensation on theinside of the headlamp glass isnormal; it disappears a few
minutes after the lights have beenswitched on.
CHANGING A BULB
1 - Dipped beam headlamps
2 - Main beam headlamps 2 bulbs (H7-55W)
- Press the tab and remove the protective cover corresponding to the faulty bulb.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Press the end of the securing clip to remove it. Change the bulb.
- When fitting, ensure that the direction notches are positioned correctly and that the securing clip is corrrectly fixed.
- Reconnect the connector.
- Refit the protective cover.
3 - Side lights (W 5 W)
Turn the socket using the lever and remove it. Change the bulb.
4 - Direction indicators (P 21 W)
Turn the bulb holder a quarter turn and remove it. Change the bulb. Note: only handle H7 bulbs using a dry cloth.
To replace the left-hand bulbs, remove the protective battery cover. Direction indicator (WY 5 W)
- Pull the rear section of the transpa-
rent cover and release the assem-
bly.
- Turn the connector a quarter turn and remove it.
- Change the bulb.
