TYRE UNDER-INFLATION DETECTION
Sensors check the tyre pressure dur-
ing driving and trigger a warning in the
event of malfunction.
D e fl a t e d t y r e Instrument panel display warn-
ing lamp.
This is accompanied by the audible
signal and the message on the mul-
tifunction screen identifying the wheel
concerned.
If this warning lamp comes on, have
the tyre pressure checked as soon as
possible.
Puncture
This warning lamp, accompanied by
the audible signal and the message on
the multifunction screen identifying the
wheel concerned, is followed by illumi-
nation of the 'STOP' warning lamp. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so,
avoiding any sudden movement of the
steering wheel and the brakes.
Change the damaged wheel (punc-
t u r e d o r v e r y d e fl a t e d t y r e ) , a n d h a v e
the tyre pressure checked as soon as
possible.
Sensor(s) not detected or faulty
Instrument panel screen warn-
ing lamp. All repairs and changing of
t y r e s o n a w h e e l fi t t e d w i t h t h i s
system must be carried out by
a PEUGEOT dealer.
If, when changing a tyre, you install a
wheel which is not detected by your
vehicle, you must have the system re-
initialised by a PEUGEOT dealer.
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n s y s -
tem is an aid to driving which does not
replace the need for the driver to be
vigilant or to drive responsibly.
This system does not eliminate the
need to have the tyre pressures
checked regularly (see the label on
the door pillar) to ensure that the op-
timum dynamic performance of the
vehicle is maintained and prevent pre-
mature wear of the tyres, particularly
in arduous driving conditions (heavy
load, high speed).
The tyre pressures must be checked
cold, at least once a month. Remem-
ber to check the pressure of the spare
wheel.
T h e t y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n s y s -
tem may experience temporary interfer-
ence due to electromagnetic emissions
on a frequency close to that used by the
system.
Note : this message is also
displayed when one of the
wheels is away from the ve-
hicle (being repaired) or when
one or more wheels without a sensor
a r e fi t t e d .
Instrument panel display warn-

This is accompanied by the audible
signal and the message on the mul-
tifunction screen which indicates that
u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n i s a b s e n t
from one (or several) wheel(s) or that
there is a fault in the system.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to replace
the faulty sensor(s).

CHANGING A WHEEL
Tools available
The following tools are located in
the holder in the centre of the spare
wheel:
1. Wheelbrace.
For removal of the wheel trim and removal of the wheel securing
bolts.
2. Jack with integral handle.
For raising the vehicle.
3. Removable towing eye.
See corresponding section.
4. Bolt cover tool.
For removal of the bolt protectors (covers) on alloy wheels. Removal
For vehicles with steel wheels, de-
tach the trim using the wheelbrace 1
pulling at the valve passage hole.
For vehicles with alloy wheels, re-
move the covers using tool 4 .
Loosen the wheel bolts.
Take the jack from the tool kit.
Place the jack 2 in one of the four
locations underneath the vehicle
(the nearest one to the wheel to be
changed).
Extend the jack 2 until its base is in
contact with the ground.
Unscrew the bolts and remove the
wheel.

the grip behind the boot seal. Never go underneath a ve-
hicle which is supported only
by a jack.
Park the vehicle on level, stable
and non-slippery ground.
Apply the parking brake, switch off
t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t o r r e -
verse gear (position P for the auto-
matic gearbox).

Fitting a wheel
Position the wheel.
Tighten the bolts by hand.
Partly tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace.
Fold the jack 2 and remove it.
Fully tighten the bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 .
For vehicles with steel wheels, re-
fi t t h e w h e e l t r i m s t a r t i n g b y p l a c -
ing its notch facing the valve and
press with the palm of the hand.
F o r v e h i c l e s w i t h a l l o y w h e e l s , r e fi t
the covers.
Put the tool holder back in position.
T h i s h e l p s t o k e e p t h e b o o t fl o o r i n i t s
correct position, to prevent any de-
f o r m a t i o n o f t h e fl o o r w h e n l o a d e d .

strap to prevent noise and for your
safety in the event of impact. Punctured tyre warning

panel:
Reminder: for your safety, always
change a wheel:
- on level, stable, non-slippery ground,
- with the parking brake applied,
- w i t h fi r s t o r r e v e r s e g e a r e n g a g e d (position P for the automatic gear-
box),
- never go underneath a vehicle which is supported only by a jack.
T y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n
system warning lamp
These original equipment wheels are
fi t t e d w i t h a p r e s s u r e s e n s o r ( s e e
p a r a g r a p h " T y r e u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c -
tion"). The warning which detects the
r e m o v a l o r a b s e n c e o f a w h e e l fi t t e d
with the pressure sensor signals the
anomaly. Have the wheel repaired and
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
After changing the wheel:
- have the tightness of the bolts and
the tyre pressure of the spare wheel
checked as soon as possible.
- have the punctured wheel repaired a n d r e fi t i t t o t h e v e h i c l e a s s o o n a s
possible.
- have the spare wheel checked and replace it in its boot recess.
Recommendations when using
the temporary spare wheel *
Your vehicle may be equipped with a
spare wheel with a different rim to that
of the standard wheel.
After use, replace it as soon as possible.
Follow the recommendations below
to avoid any alteration in vehicle han-
dling:
-
do not drive above 50 mph (80 km/h) ,
- d o n o t fi t a w h e e l t r i m ,
- drive carefully,
- c h e c k t h e i n fl a t i o n p r e s s u r e i n d i c a t e d on the label.

Bolt covers
Alloy wheel bolts are covered by
chrome trims.
Use the yellow tool to remove the trims
before slackening the bolts. Fitting the spare wheel

normal when
tightening the bolts to notice that the
washers do not come into contact with
the rim. The spare wheel is secured by
the cone shape of each bolt.
VERY COLD CLIMATE SCREEN *
The very cold climate screen is a par-
tial removable cover which is clipped
onto the air intake grille to prevent the
accumulation of snow due to direct
splashes.
O n c e i t h a s b e e n fi t t e d o n y o u r v e h i c l e ,
it must be removed when the ambient
temperature rises above 10 °C again.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.

Security bolts
Y o u r w h e e l s a r e fi t t e d w i t h s e c u r i t y
bolts (one per wheel), placed under
chrome trims which must be removed
using the yellow tool, before the bolts
are unscrewed using the security bolt
socket and the wheelbrace 1 .
Fitting snow tyres
I f y o u fi t s n o w t y r e s m o u n t e d o n s t e e l
wheels onto your vehicle, it is
essen-
tial to use special bolts available from
your PEUGEOT dealer.
This security bolt socket was
given to you on delivery of
your vehicle with the duplicate
keys. Make a careful note of
the code number engraved on the
head of the security bolt socket. This
will enable you to obtain a duplicate
security bolt socket from a PEUGEOT
dealer. You are advised to do the same
for the duplicate keys.

Integrated direction indicator side
repeaters CHANGING A REAR BULB (SALOON)
Third brake light:
Five W 5 W bulbs.
Remove the plastic cover carefully
by unclipping it at the centre and
on either side, perpendicular to its
direction of engagement.
Press on the two tabs located at
the rear, near the rear screen.
Pull the red transparent cover out-
wards while maintaining the pressure
on the tabs.
Change the faulty bulb.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g , e n s u r e t h a t t h e
tabs of the red transparent cover
are engaged correctly and that the
upper trim has been put back in
place correctly.
R e fi t t h e l a m p fi x i n g n u t s i n s i d e
the boot using the towing eye, if
n e c e s s a r y . W h e n r e fi t t i n g , e n s u r e
that the lamp unit is positioned and
fi x e d c o r r e c t l y .
Reconnect the electrical connector.
Number plate lamps : W5W.
Remove the transparent cover us-
ing a screwdriver blade.
Change the faulty bulb.
Push the repeater forwards or
backwards and release it.
Unclip the repeater and change it.
Repeaters can be obtained from
PEUGEOT dealers.
Amber coloured bulbs (direction indi-
cators and side repeaters), must be
replaced with bulbs of identical speci-
fi c a t i o n a n d c o l o u r .
1. Direction indicators :
PY21W (amber).
2. Reversing lamps : P21W.
3. Foglamps/sidelamps :
P21/4W.
4. Sidelamps : P21/4W.
5. Brake lamps/sidelamps : P21/4W.
Disconnect the electrical connector.

Remove the seal.
Unclip the bulb holder moving
aside the 5 tabs.

CHANGING A REAR BULB (407SW)
Left and right foglamps: P21W.
Carefully unclip the tailgate interior
trim.
D e t a c h t h e s e a l i n g fi l m l o c a t e d b e -
hind the lamp in question.
Remove the bulb holder turning it a
quarter of a turn.
Change the faulty bulb.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g , e n s u r e t h a t t h e b u l b i s
positioned correctly in the bulb holder.
Unclip the lamp (2 clips).
Disconnect the connector and re-
move the lamp.
Unclip the bulb holder moving
aside the 4 tabs.
Unscrew the bulb and change it.
Reconnect the connector.
R e fi t t h e b u l b h o l d e r . W h e n r e fi t t i n g
it, ensure that the lamp is correctly
positioned and secured, reclipping
the rear part then the front part.
Number plate lamps: W5W.
Insert a thin screwdriver in one of
the exterior holes of the transpar-
ent cover.
Push it towards the outside to unclip it.
Remove the transparent cover.
Change the faulty bulb. Third brake lamp (diodes)
All work on the diode lamps must be
carried out by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Wing lamps
1. Brake lamps/sidelamps: P21/5W.
2. Reversing lamps: P21W.
3. Direction indicators: P21W.
These three bulbs are changed by re-
moving the lamp.
Remove the corresponding boot

lamp.
R e m o v e t h e l a m p fi x i n g n u t i n s i d e
the boot.
Note: if necessary, use the wheelbrace
to remove the nuts. In some climatic conditions
(e.g. low temperature or hu-
midity), the presence of misting
on the internal surface of the
glass of the headlamps and rear lamps
is normal; it disappears after the lamps
have been on for a few minutes.

Without lifting (4 wheels on
the ground)
You must always use a towing bar.
The removable towing eye is inside
the spare wheel.
At the front and at the rear:
Unclip the cover,
Screw in the towing eye as far as it
will go. Special requirements with an
automatic gearbox
When towing with the engine switched
off, there is no braking or steering as-
sistance.
Failure to observe this special require-
ment may lead to the destruction of
certain braking units and the absence
of braking assistance when the engine
is re-started.
TOWING YOUR VEHICLE
Lifting (2 wheels only on
the ground)
It is preferable to raise the vehicle with
a professional lifting device.
Place the gear lever in neutral
(position N in the case of the
automatic gearbox).
Towing a vehicle with an auto-
matic gearbox in reverse gear
is prohibited (no lubrication). When towing with four wheels on the
ground, the following rules must be
observed:
- lever in position
N ,
- tow the vehicle at less than 30 mph (50 km/h) over a maximum dis-
tance of 30 miles (50 km).
- do not add oil to the gearbox.

Installation of radiocommunication
transmitters
It is advisable to contact a representa-
