Coolant temperature indicator When the needle is in zone A, the
temperature is correct.When the needle is in zone B, the
temperature is too high.In cases where the coolant tempe- rature warning light comes on (lin-
ked to the STOP warning light), you
must stop immediately.
Warning: wait for the engine to cool
down.
If necessary, top up the level.Because the cooling system is pres- surised, to prevent the risk of scal-ding, turn the cap two turns to allowthe pressure to drop. When the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine oil level and temperature When the ignition is switched on, this gauge indicates the engine oil levelfor approximately 20 seconds, then itindicates the engine oil temperature. Engine oil level The reading is valid only if the vehicle is on level ground, and the
engine has been switched off for 10minutes. With the ignition on, wait for the gra- duated sector to light up and the indi-cator needle to move. When the needle is in zone C, the oil
level is correct.When the needle is in zone D, the oil
level is incorrect.There is a risk of damage to the engine.
Check the level with the dipstick.
You must top up the level withoutexceeding the maximum level onthe gauge.
Engine oil temperature When the needle is in zone E, the
temperature is correct.When the needle is in zone F, the
temperature is too high.Reduce your speed to lower the temperature.
Service indicator and total distance recorder When the ignition is switched on, this indicates servicing information for afew seconds, then the total and tripdistances. Service functionSee the 'Service indicator' section.
Total distance recorder function The total distance is displayed on the left side of the screen and the tripdistance on the right side.

With the ignition on, press the button
until the zeros appear.

Manual operation With the headlamps on, press button B to increase the brightness of the
instrument panel lighting or button A
to reduce it. As soon as the lighting reaches the required level of brightness, releasethe button. Illuminationbuttons
Automatic operation The degree of illumination of the instrument panel automaticallyadapts to the external brightness. By day , the setting cannot be
altered.At night, the brightness can be
increased by means of button B.
A PEUGEOT dealer is able to cancel automatic operation if you prefermanual operation.
Service indicator zero re-set
Your PEUGEOT dealer carries out this operation after each service.
However, if you carry out the service yourself, the re-set procedure is asfollows: Switch off the ignition,
Press and hold the trip recorderre-set button,
Switch on the ignition.
The display begins a countdown. When the display shows 0, release the button; the service symbol disap-pears. Important: after this operation, if you
wish to disconnect the battery, lock the vehicle and wait for at least fiveminutes, otherwise the zero re-setwill not be registered.

5 seconds after the ignition is swit- ched on, the total distance recorderresumes normal operation and thedisplay shows the total or trip dis-tances. The distance remaining before the next service is less than 500 miles(1,000 km). Example:
400 miles (900 km) remain
before the next service is due. When switching on the ignition and for 5 seconds, the display shows: 5 seconds after the ignition is swit- ched on, the total distance recorderresumes normal operation and thesymbol remains lit. This indicates that a service should
be carried out shortly. The displayshows the total or trip distances.SERVICE INDICATOR This is a visual reminder of when the
next service is due. This service is tobe carried out according to themanufacturer's servicing schedule. Operation As soon as the ignition is switched on and for 5 seconds, the spannersymbolising ''service operation'' is lit.The trip recorder display shows thedistance remaining (in round figures)before the next service. Example: 4,800 miles/km remain
before the next service is due. When the ignition comes on and for 5 seconds the display indicates: The service is overdue. Each time the ignition is switched on and for 5 seconds, the symbol andthe excess distance flash. Example:
the service is overdue by
300 miles/km. The service should be
carried out very shortly. When the ignition is switched on and for 5 seconds, the display shows: 5 seconds after the ignition is swit- ched on, the total distance recorderresumes normal operation and the
symbol remains lit. The displayshows the total or trip distances. Note: the service spanner lights if
the two-year interval has been
exceeded (see "PEUGEOT Servi-cing" section).

Insert the software CD-Rom into the drive in place of the map CD-Rom. After a few moments, the mesage
"Warning - Reprogramming Sequen-ce" then the message "Navigationapplication - Processing" apears,
together with a progress bar. When the message "Software Loading End - Eject CD" appears,eject the software CD-Rom andinsert the map CD-Rom into thedrive. Check that the CD-Rom has loaded
correctly (see paragraph "Voice synthesis adjustment" in the chapterentitled "The satellite navigation system with colour screen").Changing the colours
Select the desired colour, then confirm. If required, select
'automatic
day/night' , then confirm and record
the changes.Note: this function allows the system
to change automatically to 'Night'
colour when the vehicle lights are on.
Changing the brightness Select the 'Brightness' function, then
confirm:- turn the dial clockwise to increase,
- turn the dial anti-clockwise to decrease.
Record the modifications.Note: this function allows only
limited adjustment of the brightness, since the screen lighting is dependent on the sunshine/brightness sensor in the vehicle.

CASSETTE: Audio RM2 Selecting cassette mode When a cassette is inserted, the cassette player will start automatically. If a cassette is already inserted, press button C.
Ejecting the cassette Press button Eto eject the cassette from the drive.
Direction of play
The player will play sides 1 and 2 of the cassette alternately, automatically reversing the direction of play at the end of the
side. To manually reverse the direction of play of the cassette, press button C.
Selecting a cassette track (blank search) Press button Mto select the next track.
Press button Lto return to the start of the current track or to select the previous track.
Fast forward and rewind Fully press button Mor Lto fast forward or rewind the tape. At the end of the fast forward/rewind, the current side is played.
Noise reduction (Dolby B NR system) Press button Cfor more than 2 seconds to switch the function on or off.
Dolby noise reduction is manufactured under licence by Dolby Laboratories Licensing Corporation. 'Dolby' and the double D symbol are brand marks of Dolby Laboratories Licensing Corporation.
Recommendations concerning the use of cassettes - Use good quality cassettes.
- Avoid the use of cassettes which play for more than 90 minutes.- Never expose cassettes to heat or sunlight.
- Re-tension the tape if necessary before inserting the cassette into the player.- Regularly clean the playing heads with a damp-type cleaning cassette.

TELEPHONE: Audio/Telephone RT2 This function is a GSM 900 MHZ telephone incorporated in the audio system. It possesses a'hands free'function, provided by a microphone located in the front courtesy light and a steering column
remote control which allows access to most of the functions.It also possesses a 'confidential'function, provided by the instrument panel located in the upper casing of the centre front
armrest. Note: An echo may be heard for a few seconds at the beginning of the call.
The principal 'mobile'type functions are shown on the display incorporated in the audio system; the menu lists can be referr-
red to on the multi-function display.This function is active when the ignition key is in the accessories position (1st notch), the ignition is switched on (2nd
notch), the engine is running or the vehicle is being driven.Note: when the ignition key is in the accessories position (1st notch) or the ignition is switched on (2nd notch), this function
will be interrupted after thirty minutes, when the message 'Economy mode active' appears on the multi-function display. If
you are using the telephone at that time, you will be able to finish your call.
General information about the display (Audio/Telephone RT2 display) In telephone mode, the display shows the following information, where applicable.
1.Network signal indicator (3 levels).
2. Service not available indicator.
3. Indicates a communication in progress.
4. Indicator showing connection to an outside network.
5. Indicates:
- when continuously lit: presence of an unread message or messages. - when flashing: the message system is full.
6 . Display zone (10 symbols x 2 lines).

This kit enables you to use a Bluetooth mobile telephone, in "hands-free" mode. It consists of:
- a shoe* Alocated in the upper compartment of the front armrest, intended
to accommodate the mobile telephone,
- a microphone Blocated in the front courtesy light.
The shoe* holds the NOKIA 6310(i) telephone and connects its aerial to the roof aerial. The hands-free telephone kit uses the following on-board functions:
- the audio system of the RM2 audio equipment,
- the steering wheel control or the multi-function display control keypad,
- the multi-function display which displays the telephone's main functions.

The CD-ROM drive This is located on the left hand side of the boot. Open the panel toaccess it. 1.Ejection button of the CD-ROM.
2. CD-ROM housing.
3. The CD indicator light shows the presence of a CD-ROM in thedrive.

YOUR 607 IN DETAILThe last voice message and route change recall control.
A brief press on the button on the end of the lights stalk repeats the last voice information and if necessary provides more detailed voice and graphic information on the route ahead. Press for more than two seconds to make a route change.
The CD-ROM This contains all the map data.It must be inserted in the drive, printed face upwards. With the colour screen, you have a second CD-ROM (software) containing the voice synthesissoftware and languages.
The use of copied compact discs may cause malfunctions.
Permanent locating This function permits displaying of the name of the road along which the vehicleis travelling while the guidance is inactive. Press the"MODE"button on the control
keypad to display the name of the road along which you are travelling.
To "zoom in" to display the information more clearly, turn the control keypad dial
clockwise.
WARNING: the CD-ROM which contains the map data must be in the drive.

Satellite navigation system with colour screen. Updating the software
When you receive the system update CD-ROMs:
- Start the engine to avoid any risk ofswitching to energy economy mode during the operation,
- eject the mapping CD-ROM from the drive located in the boot,
- insert the software update CD-ROM in the drive (the indicatorlight on the drive comes on perma-nently); after a few seconds thescreen "management of systemsoftware configuration" appears,

- compare the "System" versions ins-talled (Multi-function display-D or Navigation-D) with those of the CD-Rom in the drive; if a software ver-sion of the CD-ROM (or both) islater than the version installed, loadthe CD-ROM by confirming "YES";
the red indicator light on the driveflashes while the data is being loa-ded (a few minutes),
- when the message "Software Loa- ding End - Eject CD" appears,remove the software CD-ROM andinsert the mapping CD-ROM in itsplace (the indicator light on the drivecomes on permanently after goingout briefly).
General remarks regarding the
display When using context menus, the functions are presented in variousways:
- Function selected (text on coloured background),
- Function accesible (black text),
- Function inaccesible in this situation (text on grey back- ground). During off-the-map guidance, thescreen displays the following variousinformation, depending on themanoeuvres to be carried out: 1 -
Next road to be taken,
2 - Estimated time of arrival,
3 - Remaining distance to be travel- led,
4 - Diagram of the next crossroadsand direction to be taken,
5 - The direction to your destination,
6 - Street taken,
7 - Symbol showing voice synthesisstatus,
8 - Distance remaining before thenext manoeuvre,
9 - GPS status symbol.
