THE REMOTE CONTROL KEY
From the driver's door, the key allows you to lock or unlock thedoors, the boot and the fuel fillerflap, as well as to fold back oropen out the exterior mirrors. The remote control in the key performs the same function at adistance. Locking with the remote control

This is confirmed by fixed lightingof the direction indicators forapproximately two seconds. Unlocking with the remote control key

This is confirmed by rapid flashingof the direction indicators. With the vehicle unlocked, theboot is opened using the electricpush button located on the rightrear side, in the 'zero' of the 607badge. Opening the boot with the remote control key

Key in ignition If you leave the key in the igni- tion, this is indicated by a buzzer
upon opening the driver's door. Locating the vehicle
To locate your vehicle in a car park, press button A; the cour-
tesy lights come on and the direc-tion indicators flash forapproximately twenty seconds. Driving position memorised by the remote control key When locking the doors, the remote control key memorisesthe position of the driver's seatand the driving mirrors. Each
remote control key memorises aspecific setting. When unlocking the doors, the driver's seat and the exteriormirrors assume the positionmemorised by the remote control
key, if this position has beenchanged in the meantime. Note:
do not press the buttons of
your remote control key out ofrange of your vehicle as there is arisk that you could render it inope-rative. It would then be necessaryto reprogramme it. Deadlocking This renders the internal and external door locking controlsinoperative and permits the auto-matic closing of the windows andthe sunroof. With the key:
 lock the vehicle and keep the key in the locked position forapproximately one second.
With the remote control:
 press button Ato lock the
vehicle (the direction indicatorlights remain on for approxi-mately two seconds),
 within five seconds, pressbutton Aagain to deadlock
the vehicle (the direction indi-cator lights remain on forapproximately two seconds).

FUEL FILLER FLAP Opening / Closing: Locking and
unlocking of the fuel filler flap, the doors and boot is simultaneous(except when selective unlocking isinitialised; in this case press the unlocking button of the remote controlonce). FILLING WITH FUEL This must be carried out with the engine and the ignition switched off.
A hook is provided inside the fuel filler flap to hold the filler cap.
A label affixed to the inside of the fuel filler flap informs you which fuels are authorised or prohibited. The tank capacity is approximately 80 litres.
When the minimum level of the tank is reached, this light comes on, accompanied by an audible signal and the message 'Fuel
level low' on the multi-function display.
You have enough fuel to drive approximately 30 miles (50 km).
OPENING THE BONNET From inside:  pull the handle downwards.
From outside: lift the catch and raise the bonnet.

REAR PARKING ASSISTANCE This system, installed in the rear
bumper, detects any obstacle(person, vehicle, tree, gate,kerb...) located behind thevehicle.
To activate With the engine running, the system is activated as soon asreverse gear is engaged; a bleepsounds to inform you that it isactive. The proximity information is given by an audible signal, consisting ofbleeps which become more andmore rapid as the vehicleapproaches the obstacle. When the distance between the rear of the vehicle and theobstacle is less than approxima-tely twenty-five centimetres, thesignal becomes conti-nuous. The systemceases to be acti-ve when you chan-ge to neutral. MOTORISED BOOT Opening the boot
Vehicle locked / deadlocked

remote control.
This action will also unlock the doors and the fuel filler flap.

boot lid: any obstacle to closing causes the boot lid to stop and rise
a few centimetres automatically.
To close the boot lid manually, use one of the two handles inside theboot lid. Stopping and intermediate position of the boot lid While electric opening or closing of the boot lid is in progress, you canstop its movement at any time.  press the push button B or C
on the boot lid.

This is located inside the boot, in the storage compartment on the left hand side. It holds up to 6 discs.
To insert a disc into the changer:
- open the storage compartment panel,
- open sliding panel
A,
- press button Bto eject the cartridge C,
- open one of the six compartments of the cartridge by pulling tab D,
- insert the disc with the printed face upwards and close the compartment,
- insert the cartridge into the changer,
- close the sliding panel A.
CD CHANGER: Audio RM2 and RT2
The use of copied compact discs may cause malfunctions.

AUDIO SYSTEM (RM2 and RT2) Presentation
Your 607 is fitted with a JBL Audio Hi-Fi system, designed specifically for the vehicle's passenger compartment.
At the heart of the system, a 240 Watt multi-function amplifier (1), located in the boot, independently controls 12 high-definition acoustic speakers. These speakers make it possible to obtain optimum reproduction and distribution of the sound in the vehicle, in the
front and in the rear. The speakers are located:
- in the fascia: two Micro Tweeters (4) fitted in two Mid Range Speakers (5) for clear reproduction of the sound.
- in the front doors: two Woofers (6) for reproduction of the bass (low frequencies).
- in the rear doors: two Tweeters (2) and two Woofers (3) permitting a balance of frequencies (of the bass and the treble)
in the rear.
- on the rear shelf: two Subwoofers (7), designed specifically for reproduction of the extreme bass (very low frequencies)
for real listening pleasure: you will notice the impact and depth without noticing that the sound comes from the rear
of the vehicle.
Adjustment in CD mode The basic functions remain those of the audio equipment.
No further adjustment is required. However, to
benefit fully from your JBL audio system you are
advised to adjust AUDIO functions (BASS, TREB,
FAD, BAL ) to"0" (zero) and the Loudness (LOUD)to
the "ON" position.

The CD-ROM drive This is located on the left hand side of the boot. Open the panel toaccess it. 1.Ejection button of the CD-ROM.
2. CD-ROM housing.
3. The CD indicator light shows the presence of a CD-ROM in thedrive.

YOUR 607 IN DETAILThe last voice message and route change recall control.
A brief press on the button on the end of the lights stalk repeats the last voice information and if necessary provides more detailed voice and graphic information on the route ahead. Press for more than two seconds to make a route change.
The CD-ROM This contains all the map data.It must be inserted in the drive, printed face upwards. With the colour screen, you have a second CD-ROM (software) containing the voice synthesissoftware and languages.
The use of copied compact discs may cause malfunctions.
Permanent locating This function permits displaying of the name of the road along which the vehicleis travelling while the guidance is inactive. Press the"MODE"button on the control
keypad to display the name of the road along which you are travelling.
To "zoom in" to display the information more clearly, turn the control keypad dial
clockwise.
WARNING: the CD-ROM which contains the map data must be in the drive.

Satellite navigation system with colour screen. Updating the software
When you receive the system update CD-ROMs:
- Start the engine to avoid any risk ofswitching to energy economy mode during the operation,
- eject the mapping CD-ROM from the drive located in the boot,
- insert the software update CD-ROM in the drive (the indicatorlight on the drive comes on perma-nently); after a few seconds thescreen "management of systemsoftware configuration" appears,

- compare the "System" versions ins-talled (Multi-function display-D or Navigation-D) with those of the CD-Rom in the drive; if a software ver-sion of the CD-ROM (or both) islater than the version installed, loadthe CD-ROM by confirming "YES";
the red indicator light on the driveflashes while the data is being loa-ded (a few minutes),
- when the message "Software Loa- ding End - Eject CD" appears,remove the software CD-ROM andinsert the mapping CD-ROM in itsplace (the indicator light on the drivecomes on permanently after goingout briefly).
General remarks regarding the
display When using context menus, the functions are presented in variousways:
- Function selected (text on coloured background),
- Function accesible (black text),
- Function inaccesible in this situation (text on grey back- ground). During off-the-map guidance, thescreen displays the following variousinformation, depending on themanoeuvres to be carried out: 1 -
Next road to be taken,
2 - Estimated time of arrival,
3 - Remaining distance to be travel- led,
4 - Diagram of the next crossroadsand direction to be taken,
5 - The direction to your destination,
6 - Street taken,
7 - Symbol showing voice synthesisstatus,
8 - Distance remaining before thenext manoeuvre,
9 - GPS status symbol.

Recommendations for useFor an even air distribution, make sure that you do not obstruct the air inlet grille at the base of the windscreen, the vents, the air passages under the front seats and the air extractor in the boot.
