certain electrical functions can only be
u s e d f o r a l i m i t e d c o m b i n e d d u r a t i o n , t o
p r e v e n t d i s c h a r g i n g o f t h e b a t t e r y .
O n c e t h i s p e r i o d h a s e l a p s e d , t h e a c t i v e
f u n c t i o n s a r e p u t o n s t a n d b y .
I n o r d e r t o e x i t t h e E n e r g y E c o n o m y
Mode and resume the use of these
f u n c t i o n s i m m e d i a t e l y , t h e e n g i n e m u s t
b e s t a r t e d a n d l e f t r u n n i n g f o r a f e w
minutes.
If the engine has been running for at
l e a s t 1 0 m i n u t e s , t h e f u n c t i o n s a r e
a c t i v e f o r 3 0 m i n u t e s .
If the engine has been running for
l e s s t h a n 1 0 m i n u t e s , t h i s d u r a t i o n i s
5 minutes before the return to Energy
Economy Mode.

Anti-lock braking system
(ABS) warning light
This should go out after a
f e w s e c o n d s .
I f t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t r e m a i n s o n
o r c o m e s o n a b o v e 8 m p h ( 1 2 k m / h ) ,
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l a n d
a m e s s a g e o n t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y ,
this indicates a malfunction of the ABS.
H o w e v e r , t h e v e h i c l e r e t a i n s c o n v e n -
t i o n a l s e r v o - a s s i s t e d b r a k i n g .
I t i s l i n k e d w i t h t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g
w a r n i n g l i g h t o n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l
d i s p l a y .

Emission control system
warning light

The lighting of this

W h e n t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n , y o u

a n d f o r t w o m i n u t e s , t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t
l a s h e s a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n i n c r e a s -
ingly loud audible signal. Once these
t w o m i n u t e s h a v e e l a p s e d , t h e w a r n -
i n g l i g h t r e m a i n s o n u n t i l t h e d r i v e r o r
f r o n t p a s s e n g e r f a s t e n s h i s s e a t b e l t .
W h e n t h e v e h i c l e i s m o v i n g , t h e w a r n -
i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n i f t h e d r i v e r o r o n e
o f t h e f r o n t o r r e a r p a s s e n g e r s u n f a s -
tens his seat belt.
Diesel engine pre-heating
warning light
I f t h e t e m p e r a t u r e i s s u f i -
c i e n t , t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t d o e s
not come on and you can
s t a r t w i t h o u t w a i t i n g .
I f t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n , w a i t
u n t i l i t g o e s o u t b e f o r e o p e r a t i n g t h e
starter.
If no malfunction has been
detected: the CHECK OK
indicator light comes on af-
t e r t w o s e c o n d s ( f o l l o w i n g a
b l a c k s c r e e n ) , i n t h e a b s e n c e
o f i n d i c a t o r l i g h t s s h o w i n g t h e s t a t u s
o f v e h i c l e f u n c t i o n s . I f t h e s e i n d i c a t o r
l i g h t s a r e p r e s e n t , t h e CHECK OK in-
d i c a t o r l i g h t w i l l c o m e o n a f t e r t h e s e .
You may start your vehicle.
If a "minor" malfunction has been
detected: t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t f o r t h e
faulty function comes on. Certain in-
d i c a t o r l i g h t s s h o w i n g t h e s t a t u s o f
v e h i c l e f u n c t i o n s m a y a l s o c o m e o n ,
f o l l o w e d b y t h e CHECK OK indicator
light.
You can start your vehicle; h o w e v e r ,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
a s p o s s i b l e .
If a "major" malfunction has been
detected: t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g w a r n i n g
light comes on. Certain indicator lights
s h o w i n g t h e s t a t u s o f v e h i c l e f u n c t i o n s
may also come on. The CHECK OK
indicator light does not come on.
Do not start your vehicle.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer. Following this, the following
information appears on the
instrument panel display:

With the ignition on, the vehicle
carries out an automatic
test which appears on the
instrument panel display:

Exiting CHECK mode
indicator light
This comes on at the end of
the CHECK mode. With the engine running
and the vehicle moving, the
instrument panel display
temporarily shows:
- w a r n i n g l i g h t s , w h e n a f a u l t o c c u r s ,
- v e h i c l e f u n c t i o n s t a t u s i n d i c a t o r
l i g h t s , w h e n a c h a n g e o c c u r s .
The display of certain warning lights
may be accompanied by an audible
signal and a message on the multi-
function display.
Press the "CHECK" button on the
i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l .
Y o u c a n s t a r t a t e s t o f t h e v e h i c l e m a n -
u a l l y , a t a n y t i m e , w i t h t h e i g n i t i o n o n ,
e n g i n e r u n n i n g o r v e h i c l e m o v i n g .
T h i s e n a b l e s y o u t o k n o w :
- t h e w a r n i n g s p r e s e n t ,
- t h e s t a t u s o f t h e f u n c t i o n s w h i c h c a n b e a c t i v a t e d o r d e a c t i v a t e d ( a u -
t o m a t i c w i p e r s , a u t o m a t i c s w i t c h i n g
o n o f t h e l i g h t s , E S P , . . . ) .
T h e a s s o c i a t e d w a r n i n g l i g h t s a r e
d i s p l a y e d i n s u c c e s s i o n o n t h e i n s t r u -
m e n t p a n e l d i s p l a y .
I f a w a r n i n g o r a c h a n g e o f s t a t u s o c -
curs during the CHECK m o d e , t h e
c o r r e s p o n d i n g w a r n i n g l i g h t ( s ) a r e
d i s p l a y e d d u r i n g t h i s m o d e a n d t h e
CHECK w i l l c e a s e .

t h a t t h e h a n d b r a k e i s a p p l i e d o r h a s n o t
been released correctly.
Coolant temperature
warning light
T h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t i s a c c o m -
p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l
and a message on the multi-
f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y .
It is linked to the STOP w a r n i n g l i g h t .
Stop immediately.
Puncture warning light
T h i s w a r n i n g l i g h t c o m e s o n
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e
signal and a message on the
m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y l o c a t i n g
t h e p u n c t u r e d w h e e l .
It is linked to the STOP w a r n i n g l i g h t .
Stop immediately.

H a v e i t r e p a i r e d b y a P E U G E O T d e a l e r .
STOP warning light
T h i s i s d i s p l a y e d f o l l o w i n g
the
engine oil pressure ,

it is linked.
Stop immediately.

Engine oil pressure
warning light
