CHILD SEATS
Although one of PEUGEOT's main criteria when designing your vehi cle, the safety of your children also depends on you.
For optimum safety, please follow the following precaution s:
all children under the age of 10 are required to travel in approved restraining equipment*, suited to their weight, in a seat
fitted with a seat belt.
front passenger seat*: children under the age of 10 must not travel in the "forwards facing" position**
The "rear facing" position is authorised . It is then essential to disarm the passenger air bag.
After carrying out numerous tests, to offer your children th e best possible protection, PEUGEOT recommends the
following systems:
From birth to 13 kg
"Britax Babysure": installed facing the rear and secured with a thre e point seat belt, on either the front or rear seat.
In the front, the passenger seat must be adjusted to the "mid way"position and the passenger air bag MUST be
disarmed.
From 9 to 18 kg "Römer Prince": fitted in the rear with a three point seat belt .
For the safety of your children, the seat and the restraining cushion must never be separated.
From 15 to 25 kg "Römer Vario": fitted in the rear with a two or three point seat belt.

TOWING A TRAILER,
CARAVAN, BOAT ETC...
Only use original PEUGEOT tow
bars which have been tested and
approved from the design stage of
your vehicle.
The tow bar must be fitted by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Driving advice
Distribution of loads: distribute the
load in the trailer so that the heaviest
loads are as close as possible to the
axle and the nose weight is close to
the maximum authorised without,
however, exceeding it.
Cooling: towing a trailer on a slope
increases the coolant temperature.
As the fan is electronically con
trolled, its cooling capacity is not
dependent on the engine speed.
On the contrary, use a high gear to
lower the engine speed, and reduce
your speed.
In all cases, pay attention to the
coolant temperature. Note:
in certain cases of particularly
arduous use (towing the maximum
load up a steep slope in high tem
peratures), the engine automatically
limits its power. In this case, cutting
off the air conditioning allows the
engine power to be recovered, and
therefore the towing speed to be sig
nificantly increased (approximately
12mph [20 km/h] more).
If the coolant temperature warning
light comes on, stop the vehicle and
switch off the engine as soon as pos
sible.
Tyres: check the tyre pressures
of the towing vehicle and of the trail
er, observing the recommended
pressure.
Brakes: towing increases the brak
ing distance. Drive at a moderate
speed, change down early and brake
gradually.
Side wind: sensitivity to side wind is
increased. Drive smoothly and at a
moderate speed. Lighting
Manual adjustment
Adjust your headlamps so as not to
dazzle other road users (see section
on ''Manual adjustment of head
lamps''). Check the electrical sig
nalling of the trailer.
Automatic beam correction
For vehicles with Xenon bulbs, this
system automatically corrects the
height of the beam, whatever the
load of the vehicle. The driver is then
assured of having optimum lighting
and not causing a nuisance to other
road users.

USING ROOF BARS
To use the transverse roof bars, release the four locking levers provi ded for this
purpose.

Note: when the roof bars are not in use, position them at the rea r stop to avoid
excess consumption.
Use accessories approved by Automobiles PEUGEOT and follow the manufa c
turer's fitting instructions.
Maximum authorised weight on the roof rack 220 lbs. (100 k g)Removal and refitting of the
roof bars
– Remove the bolt, the stop and the two washers at each location A.
– Move the bars to the locations A.
– Lift the two bars to remove them.
– Imperative: refit the bolt, the stop
