- the style of driving,
- t h e r o a d p r o fi l e ,
- the vehicle load.
T h e g e a r b o x i s t h e n o p e r a t i n g i n a u t o -
adaptive mode, without any action on
your part. For immediate maximum
acceleration without touching the
gear lever, press the accelerator
pedal down as far as it will go to the
end of its travel passing the point of
r e s i s t a n c e ( k i c k d o w n ) . T h e g e a r b o x w i l l
automatically change down or maintain
the gear selected until maximum
engine speed is reached.
With the engine running, to move off
from position
P .
Automatic mode O n a d e s c e n t , t h e g e a r b o x w i l l
automatically change down in order to
p r o v i d e e f fi c i e n t e n g i n e b r a k i n g a n d
good re-acceleration.
If you take your foot off the accelerator
s u d d e n l y , t h e g e a r b o x w i l l n o t c h a n g e
to a higher gear for reasons of safety.

Stopping the vehicle, starting

engaging position D to accelerate.
Manual mode

- Select lever position M , I n m a n u a l m o d e , i t i s o n l y p o s s i b l e t o
change from one gear to another if
the vehicle speed and engine speed
permit. If they do not, the vehicle will
operate temporarily in automatic mode.
When the vehicle is stationary or
m o v i n g v e r y s l o w l y , t h e g e a r b o x
automatically selects gear 1.
The
(snow) programme does not
operate in manual mode.

Never select position N when the
vehicle is moving.
Never select positions P or R unless
the vehicle is stationary.

For this reason, do not leave children
unsupervised inside the vehicle,
with the engine running .
Operating abnormality
A n y o p e r a t i n g a b n o r m a l i t y i s i n d i c a t e d
b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l , a c c o m p a n i e d b y
the message
"Automatic gear fault"
o n t h e d i s p l a y a n d fl a s h i n g o f t h e S n o w
s n o w fl a k e o n t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l .
I n t h i s s i t u a t i o n t h e g e a r b o x o p e r a t e s
in downgrade mode (locked in 3rd
g e a r ) . Y o u m a y f e e l a s u b s t a n t i a l k n o c k
when changing from P to R and from N
to R (this will not cause any damage to
t h e g e a r b o x ) .
Do not exceed 60 mph (100 km/h),
keeping within the limit of local speed
restrictions.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
a s p o s s i b l e .
You can return to the automatic
programme at any time.

again to switch off
the programme you are in.
Snow programme
In addition to the automatic
programme, there is a special
Snow programme.
This improves starting
and drive when traction is poor. The

Good practice when starting Handbrake
On the version with rotating front seat,

engine run for a few seconds to allow

JUKEBOX FUNCTION (10 GB)/GPS (EUROPE)
The SERVICE BOX internet site provides additional animated information about the WIP Com. It can be consulted at the following address: http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com. Simple registration permits access and free consultation of the handbook.
The WIP Com is coded in such a way that it will on ly operate in your vehicle. If it is to be installed in another v e h i c l e , c o n t a c t a P E U G E O T d e a l e r f o r c o n fi g u r a t i o n o f the system.
For safety reasons, it is imperative that the driver carries out operations which require prolonged attention wh ile the vehicle is stationary. When the engine is switched off and to prevent discharging of the battery, the WIP Com may switch off after a few minutes.

QUESTION SOLUTION RESPONSE
The quality of reception of the radio station listened to gradually deteriorates or the stored stations do not function (no sound, 87.5 Mhz is d i s p l a y e d . . . ) .
The vehicle is too far from the transmitter used b y the station listened to or there is no transmitter in the geographical area th rough which the vehicle is travelling.
T h e e n v i r o n m e n t ( h i l l s , b u i l d i n g s , t u n n e l s , b a s e m e n t c a r p a r k s . . . ) b l o c k reception, including in RDS mode.
The aerial is absent or has been damaged (for exam ple when going t h r o u g h a c a r w a s h o r i n t o a n u n d e r g r o u n d c a r p a r k ) .
Activate the RDS function to enable the system to check whether there is a more powerful transmitter in the geographical area.
This phenomenon is normal and does not indicate a failure of the audio equipment.
Have the aerial checked by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Sound cut-outs of 1 to 2 seconds in radio mode.
During this brief sound cut-out, the RDS searches for any frequency permitting better reception of the station. Deactivate the RDS function if the phenomenon is too frequent and always on the same route.
With the engine off, the audio equipment switches off after a few minutes of use.
When the engine is switched off, the audio equipme nt operating time depends on the battery charge. The switch-off is normal: the audio equipment switches to economy mode and switches off to prevent discharging of the vehicle's battery.
Start the vehicle's engine to increase the battery charge.
The stored stations do not function (no sound, 8 7 . 5 M h z i s d i s p l a y e d . . . )
An incorrect waveband is selected. Press the BAND AST button to return to the w a v e b a n d ( A M , F M 1 , F M 2 , F M A S T ) o n w h i c h t h e stations are stored.
The message "the audio system is overheated" appears on the display.
Switch the audio system off for a few minutes to allow the system to cool. In order to protect the installation if the surrounding temperature is too high, the audio equipment switches to an automatic thermal protection mode leading to a reduction of the volume or stopping of the playing of the CD.
