- Insert the key then turn it to the left.
- Remove the cap and attach it to the
c l i p l o c a t e d o n t h e i n s i d e o f t h e l a p .
FILLING THE FUEL TANK
W h e n t h e f u e l i l l e r l a p i s o p e n , a
system limits the opening of the
rear left sliding side door.
The key cannot be removed from the
c a p ’ s l o c k u n t i l t h e c a p i s r e i t t e d o n
the tank.
FUEL CIRCUIT DISARMED
In a serious collision, a mechanism
automatically prevents fuel from
reaching the engine.
T h e l a s h i n g o f t h i s w a r n i n g
light is accompanied by a
message on the display.
When the tank’s minimum
level is reached, this warning
light comes on, accompanied
by the message "Fuel
level low" on the display.
You have enough fuel left to cover
approximately 30 miles (50 km) ,
depending on driving conditions and
the engine.
I f t h e w a r n i n g l i g h t l a s h e s , t h i s
indicates a fuel gauge malfunction.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
DIESEL REPRIMING PUMP
If you should run out of fuel, it is
necessary to re-prime the circuit:
- i l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t i v e litres of diesel,
- squeeze and release the manual re-priming pump, under the bonnet
under the protective cover, until fuel
appears in the transparent pipe,
- operate the starter until the engine starts.
A l a b e l o n t h e i n s i d e o f t h e l a p
indicates which type of fuel to use.
I f y o u i l l y o u r t a n k , d o n o t c o n t i n u e
after the third cut-off of the pump
nozzle. This could result in vehicle
malfunctions.
The capacity of the tank is
approximately 18 gallons (
80 litres).
- A f t e r i l l i n g t h e t a n k , l o c k t h e c a p
a n d c l o s e t h e l a p . Check that there is no odour or
leakage of fuel outside the vehicle and
re-establish the fuel supply:
F
switch off the ignition
(STOP position).
F remove the key.
F put the key back in the ignition.
F switch on the ignition and start.

these engines provide a highly
acclaimed level of driving pleasure. - observe the service intervals;
we recommend that services are
carried out by a PEUGEOT dealer
authorised to collect used batteries
a n d l u i d s ,
- in order to preserve the reliability of the engine and emission control
system, do not use engine oil
additives.

- adopt a preventive style of driving,
without frequent and sharp
acceleration.

Cooling system
O n l y u s e t h e l u i d r e c o m m e n d e d b y t h e
manufacturer.
Otherwise, you risk seriously damaging
your engine.
When the engine is warm, the
temperature of the coolant is controlled
by the engine fan. As this fan can
operate with the ignition key removed
and because the cooling system is
pressurised, wait for at least one hour
after the engine has stopped before
carrying out any work.
Slacken the cap by 1/4 of a turn to
release the pressure to prevent any
risk of scalding. When the pressure
has dropped, remove the cap and top
up the level with coolant.
I f l u i d h a s t o b e a d d e d f r e q u e n t l y ,
this indicates a failure which must be
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.Power steering fluid level
The vehicle must be parked on level
ground with the engine cold. Unscrew
the cap integrated with the gauge and
check the level which must be between
the MIN and MAX marks.
During regeneration of the particle
e m i s s i o n i l t e r , r e l a y n o i s e m a y b e
heard under the fascia.
If the message is still displayed and
the service warning light remains on,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Diesel additive level (Diesel with
particle emission filter) The minimum level of this
additive is indicated by
lighting of the service warning
light, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message
on the display.
When this occurs with the engine running,
this is due to the start of saturation of
t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n i l t e r ( e x c e p t i o n a l l y
prolonged urban driving conditions: low
s p e e d , l o n g t r a f i c j a m s , . . . ) .
I n o r d e r t o r e g e n e r a t e t h e i l t e r , y o u
are advised to drive at a speed of
more than 40 mph (60 km/h) as soon
a s p o s s i b l e , w h e n t r a f i c c o n d i t i o n s
p e r m i t , f o r a t l e a s t i v e m i n u t e s ( u n t i l
the message disappears and the
service warning light is switched off).
Topping up
The level must be between the MIN
and MAX marks on the expansion
b o t t l e . I f m o r e t h a n 1 l i t r e o f l u i d i s
required to top up the level, have
the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer. Windscreen wash and headlamp
wash level
For best quality cleaning and for your
safety, we would advise that you use
products of the PEUGEOT Universal
range.
To avoid ice forming, do not use water.
Topping up
It is imperative that this additive is
topped up by a PEUGEOT dealer
without delay.
Used oil
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil
with the skin.

very corrosive.
Do not dispose of used oil, brake
l u i d o r c o o l a n t i n t o d r a i n s o r o n t o
the ground but into the containers
dedicated to this use at PEUGEOT
dealerships.

Battery
ECONOMY MODE FUNCTION
After the engine has stopped, with
the key in the ignition position, certain
functions (windscreen wiper, electric
windows, courtesy lights, audio
equipment, etc.) can only be used for a
cumulative duration of thirty minutes, to
prevent discharging the battery.
Once the thirty minutes are over, the
message "Economy mode active"
appears on the display and the active
functions are put on standby.
To resume the use of these functions
immediately, start the engine and let it
run for a few seconds.
A l a t b a t t e r y w i l l p r e v e n t t h e e n g i n e
from starting.
To charge the battery using a
battery charger
- Disconnect the battery,
- Follow the instructions for use
given by the battery charger
manufacturer,
- Reconnect starting with the negative (-) terminal,
- Check that the terminals and connectors are clean. If they are
covered with sulphate (white or
greenish deposit), disconnect them
and clean them.
BATTERY
This is housed in a compartment
l o c a t e d u n d e r n e a t h t h e l o o r , i n f r o n t o f
the driver’s seat.
Before disconnecting the battery, you
must wait for 2 minutes after switching
off the ignition.
Never disconnect a terminal when the
engine is running.
N e v e r c h a r g e a b a t t e r y w i t h o u t i r s t
disconnecting the terminals.
Close the sunroof and the windows
before disconnecting the battery. If
they do not operate normally following
reconnection of the battery, they must
be reinitialised.
Refer to the "Accesses" section
of chapter 2 for the sunroof safety
auto-reverse and to the "Mirrors and
windows" section of chapter 3 for the
electric windows safety auto-reverse. It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is not to be
used for a period of more than
one month.
After every reconnection of the battery,
switch on the ignition and wait 1 minute
before starting to allow the electronic
systems to be initialised. If slight
d i f i c u l t i e s a r e e x p e r i e n c e d a f t e r t h i s ,
please contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
The door open monitoring electrical
system consumes power, remember
to close the sliding doors when your
vehicle is parked for long periods.
To start the vehicle from
another battery
- Connect the red cable to the positive (+) terminals of the
two batteries,
- Connect one end of the green or black cable to the negative (-)
terminal of the slave battery,
- Connect the other end of the green or black cable to an earth point on
the broken down vehicle as far as
possible from the battery,
- Operate the starter, let the engine run,
- Wait for the engine to return to idle, then disconnect the cables.
