ELECTRONIC ENGINE
IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine control system as
s o o n a s t h e i g n i t i o n h a s b e e n s w i t c h e d
off and therefore prevents starting of
t h e v e h i c l e b y a n y o n e w h o d o e s n o t
have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic
chip which has a special code. When
the ignition is switched on, the code
m u s t b e r e c o g n i s e d f o r s t a r t i n g t o b e
p o s s i b l e .
If the system does not function
c o r r e c t l y , t h e c e n t r a l l o c k i n g b u t t o n
indicator light, situated on the courtesy
l i g h t c o n s o l e , fl a s h e s r a p i d l y w h e n t h e
ignition is switched on (2nd notch).
In this case your vehicle will not start.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon
a s p o s s i b l e .
Good practice If the keys are lost

key if you show him your V5 registration

Key, remote control
Take care not to allow the key to come
into contact with grease, dust, rain or a
damp environment.
A h e a v y o b j e c t a t t a c h e d t o t h e k e y
(key ring, ...) weighing on the shaft
of the key in the switch may cause a
malfunction.
The high frequency remote control is
a sensitive system; do not operate it
while it is in your pocket as there is
a p o s s i b i l i t y t h a t i t m a y u n l o c k y o u r
v e h i c l e , w i t h o u t y o u b e i n g a w a r e o f i t .
D o n o t r e p e a t e d l y p r e s s t h e b u t t o n s o f
your remote control out of range and
out of sight of your vehicle. You run
the risk of stopping it from working and
t h e r e m o t e c o n t r o l w o u l d h a v e t o b e
reprogrammed.
The remote control does not operate
when the key is in the ignition, even
when the ignition is switched off,
except for reprogramming.

doors are unlocked automatically

Purchasing a second-hand vehicle
Ensure that you are given the anti-theft
s o c k e t f o r a l l o y w h e e l s ( r e m e m b e r t o
note the code engraved on the head of
the socket).
H a v e t h e k e y c o d e s m e m o r i s e d b y a
PEUGEOT dealer, to ensure that the
keys in your possession are the only
ones which can start the vehicle.

General recommendations
It is imperative that the doors are
only operated when the vehicle is
stationary.
Always ensure that the door is
operated safely. Check that no person,
a n i m a l o r o b j e c t i s p r e v e n t i n g t h e
required operation, either inside or
outside the vehicle.
Do not lean through an open window,
d o n o t l e a v e a n y o b j e c t p r o t r u d i n g
through the door during opening or
closing.
Do not leave children or pets near the
opening and closing controls without
supervision.
Obstacle detection
The detection system is triggered when
a n o b s t a c l e w h i c h h a s a c e r t a i n p h y s i c a l
resistance hinders the movement of
the door.
I f a n o b s t a c l e i s d e t e c t e d d u r i n g :
- closing of the door, the door opens fully,
- opening of the door, the door stops.
W h e n t h e o b s t a c l e h a s b e e n r e m o v e d ,
complete or restart the action using the
remote control or the interior controls.

one second, you can start without

Good practice when stopping
Minimise engine and gearbox wear
When switching off the ignition, let the
engine run for a few seconds to allow
t h e t u r b o c h a r g e r t o r e t u r n t o i d l e .
Do not press the accelerator when
switching off the ignition.
There is no need to engage a gear
after parking the vehicle.

FUEL CIRCUIT DISARMED
In a serious collision, a mechanism
automatically prevents fuel from
reaching the engine. T h e fl a s h i n g o f t h i s w a r n i n g
light is accompanied by a
message on the display.
DIESEL REPRIMING PUMP
If you should run out of fuel, it is
necessary to re-prime the circuit:
- fi l l t h e f u e l t a n k w i t h a t l e a s t fi v e litres of diesel,
- squeeze and release the manual re-priming pump, under the bonnet
under the protective cover, until fuel
appears in the transparent pipe,
- operate the starter until the engine starts.
Check that there is no odour or
leakage of fuel outside the vehicle and
re-establish the fuel supply:
- switch off the ignition (STOP position).
- remove the key.
- put the key back in the ignition.
- switch on the ignition and start.
Quality of the fuel used for Diesel
engines
The Diesel engines are perfectly
compatible with biofuels which conform
to current and future European
standards (diesel fuel which complies
with standard EN 590 mixed with a
biofuel which complies with standard
EN 14214) available at the pumps
(containing up to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl
Ester).
The B30 biofuel can be used in certain
Diesel engines; however, this use
is subject to strict application of the
special servicing conditions. Consult a
PEUGEOT dealer.
The use of any other type of (bio)fuel
(vegetable or animal oils, pure or
diluted, domestic fuel...) is strictly
prohibited (risk of damage to the
engine and fuel circuit).

Levels
Cooling system
O n l y u s e t h e fl u i d r e c o m m e n d e d b y t h e
manufacturer.
Otherwise, you risk seriously damaging
your engine.
When the engine is warm, the
temperature of the coolant is controlled
by the engine fan. As this fan can
operate with the ignition key removed
and because the cooling system is
pressurised, wait for at least one hour
after the engine has stopped before
carrying out any work.
Slacken the cap by 1/4 of a turn to
release the pressure to prevent any
risk of scalding. When the pressure
has dropped, remove the cap and top
up the level with coolant.
I f fl u i d h a s t o b e a d d e d f r e q u e n t l y ,
this indicates a failure which must be
checked by a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible.
Power steering fluid level
The vehicle must be parked on level
ground with the engine cold. Unscrew
the cap integrated with the gauge and
check the level which must be between
the MIN and MAX marks. During regeneration of the particle
e m i s s i o n fi l t e r , r e l a y n o i s e m a y b e
heard under the fascia.
If the message is still displayed and
the service warning light remains on,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Diesel additive level (Diesel with
particle emission filter)
When this occurs with the engine
running, this is due to the start of
s a t u r a t i o n o f t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r
(exceptionally prolonged urban driving
c o n d i t i o n s : l o w s p e e d , l o n g t r a f fi c
jams, ...).
I n o r d e r t o r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r , y o u
are advised to drive at a speed of
more than 40 mph (60 km/h) as soon
a s p o s s i b l e , w h e n t r a f fi c c o n d i t i o n s
p e r m i t , f o r a t l e a s t fi v e m i n u t e s ( u n t i l
the message disappears and the
service warning light is switched off).
Topping up
The level must be between the MIN
and MAX marks on the expansion
b o t t l e . I f m o r e t h a n 1 l i t r e o f fl u i d i s
required to top up the level, have
the system checked by a PEUGEOT
dealer.
Windscreen wash and headlamp
wash level
For best quality cleaning and for your
safety, we would advise that you use
products of the PEUGEOT range.
To avoid ice forming, do not use water.
Topping up
It is imperative that this additive is
topped up by a PEUGEOT dealer
without delay.
Used oil
Avoid prolonged contact of used oil
with the skin.

very corrosive.
Do not dispose of used oil, brake
fl u i d o r c o o l a n t i n t o d r a i n s o r o n t o
the ground but into the containers
dedicated to this use at PEUGEOT
dealerships.
The minimum level of this
additive is indicated by
lighting of the service warning
light, accompanied by an
audible signal and a message
on the display.

Battery
ECONOMY MODE FUNCTION
After the engine has stopped, with
the key in the ignition position, certain
functions (windscreen wiper, electric
windows, courtesy lights, audio
equipment, etc.) can only be used for
a cumulative duration of thirty minutes,
to prevent discharging the battery.
Once the thirty minutes are over, the
message "Economy mode active"
appears on the display and the active
functions are put on standby.
To resume the use of these functions
immediately, start the engine and let it
run for a few seconds.
A fl a t b a t t e r y w i l l p r e v e n t t h e e n g i n e
from starting.
To charge the battery using a
battery charger
- disconnect the battery,
- follow the instructions for use given by the battery charger
manufacturer,
- reconnect starting with the negative (-) terminal,
- check that the terminals and connectors are clean. If they are
covered with sulphate (white or
greenish deposit), disconnect them
and clean them.
BATTERY
This is housed in a compartment
l o c a t e d u n d e r n e a t h t h e fl o o r , i n f r o n t o f
the driver’s seat.
Before disconnecting the battery, you
must wait for 2 minutes after switching
off the ignition.
Never disconnect a terminal when the
engine is running.
N e v e r c h a r g e a b a t t e r y w i t h o u t fi r s t
disconnecting the terminals.
Close the sunroof and the windows
before disconnecting the battery. If
they do not operate normally following
reconnection of the battery, they must
be reinitialised.
It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is not to be used
for a period of more one month.
After every reconnection of the battery,
switch on the ignition and wait 1 minute
before starting to allow the electronic
systems to be initialised. If slight
d i f fi c u l t i e s a r e e x p e r i e n c e d a f t e r t h i s ,
please contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
The door open monitoring electrical
system consumes power, remember
to close the sliding doors when your
vehicle is parked for long periods.
To start the vehicle from
another battery
- connect the red cable to the positive (+) terminals of the two
batteries,
- connect one end of the green or black cable to the negative (-)
terminal of the slave battery,
- connect the other end of the green or black cable to an earth point on
the broken down vehicle as far as
possible from the battery,
- operate the starter, let the engine run,
- wait for the engine to return to idle, then disconnect the cables. For the sunroofs safety auto-
reverse, refer to the "Accesses"
section of chapter 2. For the electric windows safety
auto-reverse, refer to the "Mirrors
and windows" section of chapter 3.

The time taken to calculate a route sometimes seems l o n g e r t h a n u s u a l .
This phenomenon is normal. The system is d e p e n d e n t o n t h e t r a f fi c i n f o r m a t i o n a v a i l a b l e .
The performance of the system may slow down tempor arily if a CD is b e i n g c o p i e d o n t o t h e J u k e b o x a t t h e s a m e t i m e a s a r o u t e i s b e i n g calculated.
Wait until the CD has been copied or stop the c o p y i n g b e f o r e s t a r t i n g t h e g u i d a n c e f u n c t i o n .
D o e s t h e e m e r g e n c y c a l l function work without a S I M c a r d ?
N o , E u r o p e a n r e g u l a t i o n s i m p o s e t h e p r e s e n c e o f a S I M c a r d i n o r d e r t o m a k e a n e m e r g e n c y c a l l . Insert a valid SIM card in the slot on the PC Com.
My SIM card is not r e c o g n i s e d . The PC Com accepts 3.3 V SIM cards, the old 5 V an d 1.8 V SIM cards a r e n o t r e c o g n i s e d . Contact your telephone operator.
A f t e r c h a n g i n g a w h e e l , the system loses its location.
The PC Com uses the wheel rotation information to improve the GPS l o c a t i n g f u n c t i o n . I f a w h e e l i s c h a n g e d o r d e fl a t e s s u d d e n l y , t h e s y s t e m recalculates the location. For approximately ten mi nutes, this recalculation m a y a f f e c t t h e q u a l i t y o f t h e l o c a t i n g f u n c t i o n .
Wait until the system has completed its recalculation. The location on the map is incorrect or inaccurate.

D e p e n d i n g o n t h e g e o g r a p h i c a l e n v i r o n m e n t ( t u n n e l , . . . ) o r t h e w e a t h e r , t h e c o n d i t i o n s o f r e c e p t i o n o f t h e G P S s i g n a l m a y v a r y . This phenomenon is normal. The system is dependent on the conditions of reception of the G P S s i g n a l .
