REMOTE CONTROLI-1

Remote control The remote control transmitter emits a high frequency signal which
offers the following advantages:
- does not require aiming at the
receiver in the vehicle.
- can be operated from behind the vehicle and penetrates any load on board.
- has a range of several metres. Note : The simultaneous use of
other high frequency equipment (mobile telephones, domesticalarms...) may momentarily hinderthe operation of the remote control. In the event of a permanent fault, the remote control should be reini-tialised. See Ç Changing the remo-te control battery È. Central locking The remote controls activate the locking or unlocking of the doors.Press control
Aonce to lock or control Bto unlock.
If nothing happens, press it again. The direction indicator lamps will come on to show that the central locking has been activated. - Unlocked = rapid flashing.
- Locked = on for approximately two seconds.
The central locking will not operate if a door is open, or not properly closed.

FRONT DOORS Opening from the outside
To unlock the door from the outside, either put the key in the lock andturn it or unlock using the remotecontrol. Pull the door handle towards you. Opening from the inside Pull the lever towards you. Locking from the inside Push down the locking button on the front or side doors to operatethe central locking* when the frontdoors are closed.

Coolant temperature gauge Coolant temperature warning lampUnder normal operating conditions, the gauge may indicate a temperature of up to 100¡C.Under severe operating conditions, such as in high temperatures, the needle may approach the red zones.
If the warning lamp lights up, stop immediately, switch the engine off, the cooling fan may conti-
nue to operate for a while , and allow to cool before checking the coolant level, taking the pre-
cautions described in chapter IV - Maintenance - "Levels, checks".
Engine overheating can have various causes. Contact your nearest dealer.
Fuel gaugeWhen the low level warning lamp comes on continuously with the vehicle on level ground, there are approximately 6 litres of fuel remaining in the tank. Reservoir capacity (in litres):

Maintenance intervals If your vehicle is used in particular- ly harsh conditions, it is necessaryto select the maintenance sche-dules for Òarduous conditions ofuseÓ (see the Maintenance Guide)which consist of more frequent ser-vices. Note:the maintenence spanner will
come on, and the display will read ''0'' if the maximum length of time
between services is attained beforethe mileage limit is reached. To change the maintenance intervals:
- Switch off the ignition.
- Press and hold down button
1.
- Switch on the ignition.
- The distance remaining until the next service flashes.
- Release the button immediately.
- The maintenance interval is dis- played.
- Pressing button 1briefly allows
the maintenance intervals to be alternated. - When the desired maintenance
interval is displayed, press button1 for ten seconds to validate (the
selected maintenance interval willflash for ten seconds).
Release the button to validate whenthe display stops flashing. Resetting the maintenance indi- cator to zero
Your dealer will perform this opera-
tion after each service. However, ifyou intend to service the vehicleyourself, the procedure for resettingthe maintenance indicator is as fol-lows:
- Switch off the ignition.
- Press and hold down button 1.
- Switch on the ignition.
- The distance remaining until the next service flashes.
- Hold button 1down for ten
seconds.
- The display will read Ò=0Óand the
spanner will disappear.

Dashboard lighting Adjust with the engine running and the sidelamps on
by pressing the control B.
- Press the button successively: the level of lighting of
the instrument panel changes progressively.
- Keep the button pressed down: the level of lighting
of the instrument panel changes rapidly.
