Disarming the System
You can disarm the system by doing any one of the
following:
Press the remote keyless entry transmitter unlock
button.
Turn the ignition on.
If the system is armed and the trunk is opened using the
trunk release button on the transmitter, the system will
temporarily disarm itself and re-arm when the trunk has
been closed. This allows the you to exit the vehicle, lock
the doors using the transmitter, and open the trunk using
the transmitter without having to disarm and re-arm the
system.
Once the system is disarmed, the security light will stop
ashing.
How the System Alarm is Activated
If the system is armed, it can be activated by either:
Opening the driver’s door or trunk. This will cause a
ten second pre-alarm chirp followed by a thirty
second full alarm of horn and lights.
Opening any other door. This will immediately cause
a full alarm of horn and lights for thirty seconds.
When an alarm event has nished, the system will
re-arm itself automatically.
How to Turn Off the System Alarm
To turn off the system alarm, do one of the following:
Press the lock button on the remote keyless
entry transmitter. The system will then re-arm itself.
Press the unlock button on the remote keyless entry
transmitter. This will also disarm the system.
Insert the key in the ignition and turn it on. This will
also disarm the system.
How to Detect a Tamper Condition
If you hear three chirps when you press the unlock,
lock, or trunk release buttons on the remote keyless
transmitter, it means that the content theft security
system alarm was activated previously.

/(START):This position starts the engine. When the
engine starts, release the key. The ignition switch will
return to RUN for normal driving.
A warning tone will sound if you open the driver’s door
while in LOCK or ACC, when the key has not been
removed from the ignition.
Shift Lock Release
The following procedure allows the ignition to be turned
to LOCK and for ignition key removal in case of a dead
battery or low voltage battery.
1. Make sure the shift lever is in PARK (P).2. Using a tool, pry off the cover from the bottom of
the steering column.
3. Place your nger into the access hole and locate
the plunger.
4. Press and hold the plunger toward the driver’s door
while turning the ignition key to LOCK. Remove
the key.
Have your vehicle serviced at your GM dealer as soon
as possible.

Outside Manual Mirror
Adjust the outside rearview mirror so you can see a little
of the side of your vehicle, and the area beside your
vehicle from a comfortable driving position. Some
mirrors can be folded in to enter narrow passageways.
Outside Power Mirrors
The controls for the outside
power mirrors are located
on the driver’s door.
Move the selector switch located next to the four-way
control pad to the left or right to choose either the driver’s
side or passenger’s side mirror. To adjust a mirror, use
the arrows located on the four-way control pad to move
the mirror in the desired direction. Adjust each outside
mirror so that a little of the vehicle and the area behind it
can be seen while sitting in a comfortable driving position.Both mirrors can be manually folded by pulling them
toward the vehicle. This feature may be useful when
going through a car wash or a con ned space. Push
the mirrors away from the vehicle to the normal position
before driving.
OnStar®System
OnStar®uses global positioning system (GPS) satellite
technology, wireless communications, and live advisors
to provide you with a wide range of safety, security,
information, and convenience services. If your airbags
deploy, the system is designed to make an automatic call
to OnStar
®Emergency where we can request emergency
services be sent to your location. If you lock your keys in
the car, call OnStar
®at 1-888-4-ONSTAR and they can
send a signal to unlock your doors. If you need roadside
assistance, press the OnStar
®button and they will get
you the help you need.

The fog lamps will turn off while the high-beam
headlamps are turned on.
Some localities have laws that require the headlamps to
be on along with the fog lamps.
Instrument Panel Brightness
DInstrument Panel Brightness:The control for this
feature is located on the instrument panel to the right
of the steering wheel.
Turn the knob clockwise to brighten the lights or
counterclockwise to dim them.
Entry/Exit Lighting
The lamps inside your vehicle will go on when you open
any door. These lamps will fade out after about
20 seconds after all of the doors have been closed or
when the ignition is turned on. These lamps will also go
on when you press the trunk release, unlock symbol
button or the horn symbol on the keyless entry system
transmitter.
The lamps inside your vehicle will stay on for about
20 seconds after your key is removed from the ignition
to provide an illuminated exit.
Mirror Reading Lamps
Your vehicle has reading lamps on the rearview mirror.
Push the button to turn the reading lamps on and off.
Battery Run-Down Protection
Your vehicle is equipped with a battery saver feature
designed to protect your vehicle’s battery.
When any interior lamp is left on and the ignition is
turned off, the battery rundown protection system will
automatically turn the lamp off after 20 minutes. This will
avoid draining the battery.
Accessory Power Outlet(s)
The accessory power outlet can be used to connect
electrical equipment such as a cellular phone or
CB radio. The outlet can accept electrical equipment
rated at a maximum of 20 amps.
The accessory power outlet is located on the instrument
panel, under the radio.
To use the outlet, remove the cover. When not in use,
always cover the outlet with the protective cap.
Notice:Leaving electrical equipment on for
extended periods will drain the battery. Always turn
off electrical equipment when not in use and do not
plug in equipment that exceeds the maximum
amperage rating.

DELAY LOCK
This feature, which delays the actual locking of the
vehicle, can be enabled or disabled. When DELAY
LOCK appears on the display, press the reset button to
scroll through the available settings:
ON (default):The doors will not lock until ve seconds
after the last door is closed. You can temporarily
override delayed locking by pressing the lock button on
the remote keyless entry transmitter a second time.
OFF:The doors will lock immediately when pressing the
lock button on the remote keyless entry transmitter.

Choose one of the available settings and press the
information button to select it and move on to the next
feature.
AUTO UNLK (Unlock)
This feature, which allows the vehicle to automatically
unlock certain doors, can be enabled or disabled. When
AUTO UNLK appears on the display, press the reset
button to scroll through the available settings:
ALL (default):All of the doors will automatically unlock.
DRIVER:The driver’s door will automatically unlock.
NONE:None of the doors will automatically unlock. You
will need to manually unlock the doors.
If you have a manual transmission vehicle, the door(s)
will automatically unlock when the key is turned off.
If you have an automatic transmission vehicle, you can
select when the automatic unlocking will occur. See
“UNLK (Automatic Transmission Only)” following.

UNLK (Unlock) (Automatic
Transmission Only)
This screen displays only if your vehicle has an
automatic transmission and DRIVER or ALL is selected
for the AUTO UNLK feature. This feature determines
when the automatic door unlocking will occur. When
UNLK appears on the display, press the reset button to
scroll through the available settings:
KEY OFF:The door(s) will unlock when the key is
turned off.
SHIFT TO P (Park) (default):The door(s) will unlock
when the vehicle is shifted into PARK (P).

Choose one of the available settings and press the
information button to select it and move on to the next
feature.
EXT (Exterior) LIGHTS
If your vehicle has remote keyless entry, this feature,
which allows the vehicle’s exterior perimeter lighting to
turn on each time the unlock button on the remote
keyless entry transmitter is pressed, can be enabled or
disabled. When EXT LIGHTS appears on the display,
press the reset button to scroll through the available
settings:
OFF:The exterior perimeter lighting will not turn on
when the unlock button on the remote keyless
entry transmitter is pressed.
ON (default):The exterior perimeter lighting will turn on
when the unlock button on the remote keyless entry
transmitter is pressed.
