Replacing
fuses
Inordertopreventdamagetocablesandcon-
sumersintheelectricalsystemduetoshortcir-
cuitsandoverloads,theindividualcircuitsare
protectedbyfuses.
Thefuseboxisatlowerleftinthedriver'sfoot-
wellandisprotectedwithaplasticcover.

B-Sparefuses
1.Beforereplacingafuse,switchoffallelectri-
calconsumersandremovetheignitionkey.
2.Toopen,pullthecoveroffatthefingerhole
(arrow).
Thefuseplanandinstructionsforemer-
gencyunlockingoftheluggagecom-
partmentlidscanbefoundontheinsideof
thecover.
3.Tocheckorreplaceafuse,removeitfrom
thespringclipusingtheplasticgripperA.
Ablownfuseindicatesanoverloadinthecir-
cuitandcanbeidentifiedbythemeltedmetal
strip.
4.Replaceonlywithfusesofthesamerating.
SparefusesBareinthelowestsectionof
thefusebox.
Importantnote
t>Ifafuseblowsrepeatedly,pleaseimmediately
consultanauthorizedPorschedealer,sothat
theshortcircuitcanbelocatedandcor-
rected.
t>Nevertryto"repair"fuses:youmaycause
seriousdamagetootherpartsoftheelectri-
calsystem.

openedonlywiththeaidofadonorbattery.
Unlockinglids
1.Usethekeytounlockthevehicleatthedoor
lock.
Leavethekeyinthedoorlock.
2.Removeplasticcoveroverthefusebox.
3.PulloutpositiveterminalAinthefusebox.
4.Useajumper
cabletoconnectthepositive
terminalofthedonorbatterywithpositive
terminalAinthefuse
box.

Ifthevehicle
waslocked,thealarmhornwill
soundwhenthenegativecableisconnected.
5.Usethesecondjumpercabletoconnectthe
negativeterminalofthedonorbatterywith
latchstrikerB.
6.Switchthealarmsystemoffbylockingand
unlockingatthedoorlock.
7.Unlocktheenginecompartmentlidorlug-
gagecompartment
lidwiththeswitch.
8.Disconnectthenegativecablefirst,thenthe
positivecable.
9.PushpositiveterminalAintothefusebox
andpushontheplasticfuseboxcover.

Theenginecannot
bestartedwiththismethod.

theoveralltankcapacitywhilethebatteryisdis-
chargedordisconnected,incorrectinformation
willbedisplayedwhen
thebatteryischarged
orreconnected.
Thefuellevelgaugemayindicate
more
fuel
thanisactuallyinthetank.
Therangeonremainingfueldisplayedbytheon-
boardcomputermaybehigherthaninreality.
t>Inthiscase,inordertoensurethatgauges
arepreciseandthatyoudonotrunoutof
fuel,youshouldfillupyourcarwithfuel.
Chargestate
Awellchargedbatterywillnotonlypreventstart-
ingproblemsbutwillalsolastlonger.
Inordertoavoiddischargingthebattery
unintentionally:
t>Curtailunnecessarypowerconsumption,par-
ticularlyincitytrafficorwhentravellingshort
distancesonly.
t>Alwaysremovetheignitionkeywhenleaving
thecar.
t>AvoidusingthePorscheCommunication
Managementsystemwhentheengineisnot
running.

Replacingtheremote-controlbattery
Aweakbatterymayberecognizedbythe
clearlyreducedactionrangeoftheremotecon-
trolorwhenthelight-emittingdiode2inthe
keygripnolongerflasheswhentheremotecon-
trolisoperated.
1.Usingyourfingernailorasmallscrewdriver,
carefullyliftoffthecoverofthekeygrip.
2.Replacebattery(observepolarity).
Asparebattery(LithiumCR2032,3volts)is
availableatyourauthorizedPorschedealer.
3.Replacecoverandpresstogetherfirmly.

Anydisposalregulationsforbatteriesmustbe
observed!
