Onlytireswiththesamemakeandwiththesamespecicationcode(e.g.“N0”,“N1”...)canbemounted.
Beforemountingnewtires,checkwithyourPorschedealeraboutthecurrentreleasestatus.
Usetireswith“ZR”qualitystandards.Therearecurrentlynostandardsconcerningtirestrengthatspeedsabove150mph(240km/h).
Tiresshouldbereplacednolessthanononeaxleatthetime.Onlytiresofthesamemakeandtypemustbeused.Mixedtiresarenotpermissible.
Initially,newtiresdonothavetheirfulltraction.Youshouldthereforedriveatmoderatespeedsduringthefirst60-120miles(100-200km).
Ifnewtiresareinstalledonlyononeaxle,anoticeablechangeinhandlingoccursduetothedifferenttreaddepthoftheothertires.Thishappensespeciallyifonlyreartiresarereplaced.However,thisconditiondisappearsasthenewtiresarebrokenin.
Pleaseadjustyourdrivingstyleaccordingly.
Installationofnewtiresshouldonlybedonebyaqualifiedtiretechnician.
Valves
Rubbervalvestemsmustbereplacedeverytimeatireisreplaced.Formetalvalves,theinstallationandreplacementinstructionsmustbeobserved.
UseonlygenuinePorschemetalvalves.
Protectthevalveinsertsagainstsoilingwithvalvecaps.Soiledvalveinsertscancauseagraduallossofair.
Useonlyplasticvalvecaps.
Parkingatthecurb
Warning!
Hardimpactsagainstcurbs(ortrafcislands)aredangerousandmaycausehiddentiredamagewhichisnotnoticeableuntillater.Suchdamagecanresultinaccidentsathighspeedscausingseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.Dependingontheforceofimpact,theedgeoftherimcanalsobedamaged.

Wheelalignment,wheelbalancing
Asaprecaution,havewheelswithsummertiresbalancedinthespring,andthosewithmudandsnowtiresbeforewinter.Unbalancedwheelsmayaffectcarhandlingandtirelife.Onlythespecifiedweightsmaybeusedforwheelbalancing.Self-adhesiveweightsmustnotcomeintocontactwithcleaningagents,sincetheycoulddropoff.Uneventreadwearindicateswheelimbalance.Inthisevent,thevehicleshouldbecheckedatanauthorizedPorschedealer.
Warning!
If,duringatrip,unevenrunningorvibrationsoccurthatcouldbecausedbydamagetotiresorthecar,thespeedmustbereducedimmediately,butwithoutbrakingsharply.Ifyoucontinueyourtripwithouthavingthecauseofthefaultremedied,youmightlosecontrolofyourvehiclewhichcouldcauseseriouspersonalinjuryordeath.
Stopthevehicleandcheckthetires.
Ifnocauseforthefaultcanbefound,drivecarefullytothenearestauthorizedPorschedealer.
Removingandstoringtires
Afterchanging,adjusttirepressureandtorquewheelboltsdiagonallyto94ft.lb.(130Nm).
Tiresmustalwaysremainonthesamesideofthevehicle.Whenwheelsareremoved,thedirectionofrotationandpositionofeachwheelshouldbemarked.
Example
FR(frontright),FL,RRandRL.
Wheelsmustalwaysbefittedinaccordancewiththeirmarking.
Theperceptionthattiredurabilityandperformanceareimmunetotheeffectsofstorageandageisunfounded.Chemicaladditives,whichmaketherubberelastic,losetheireffectivenessinthecourseoftimeandtherubberbecomesbrittleandcracks.
Therefore,thetiresshouldbeinspectedfromtimetotime.

ApplyathincoatofOptimolyTA(aluminumpaste)onthethreadandbetweentheboltheadandmovablesphericalcapring(arrows).Thebearingsurfaceofthesphericalcapfacingthewheelmustnotbegreased.
Replacedamagedwheelbolts.OnlyusetheOriginalPorschewheelboltsspeciallydesignedforthisvehicletype.
Tighteningtorque
Tighteningtorqueofwheelbolts:130Nm/96ftlb.
WheelSecuringBolts
Ifthewheelshavetoberemovedattheworkshop,pleasedonotforgettohandoverthewrenchsocketforthewheelsecuringboltsalongwiththecarkey.
Thewrenchsocketforthewheelsecuringboltsisinthetoolbox.
Toloosenortightenthewheelboltwithanti-theftprotection,awrenchsocketwiththeappropriatecodingmustbeusedbetweenthewheelboltandthewheel-boltspanner.
Whenpositioningthewrenchsocket,ensurethatitengagesfullyintheteethofthewheelbolt.
