Anunlockedcarwiththekeyintheignitionlockinvitescartheft.
AsteeringwheellockandagongalarmarestandardequipmentinyourPorsche.Thegongalarmwillsoundifyouopenthedriver’sdoorwhilethekeyisstillintheignitionlock.Itisyourremindertopullthekeyoutoftheignitionlockandtolockthedoors.
Warning!
Anyuncontrolledmovementofthevehiclemayresultinpropertydamage,seriouspersonalinjuryordeath.Neverleaveyourvehicleunattendedwiththekeyintheignitionlock,especiallyifchildrenand/orpetsareleftunattendedinthevehicle.Theycanoperatepowerwindowsandothercontrols.Iftheengineisleftrunning,theymayaccidentallyengagetheshiftlever.Seriouspersonalinjuryordeathcouldresultfromlossofcontrolofthevehicle.
Alwaysremovetheignitionkey.

Lockthedoorswiththeremotecontrol.

Therelockingtimeofthedoorscanbeadjustedtosuityourindividualrequirements(4-120seconds).
Type2
Thedoorsstaylockedwhentheluggagecompart-mentisunlocked.
Malfunctionoftheremotecontrol
Theremotecontrolmaynotfunctioncorrectlyduetolocalradiowaveinterference.Thevehiclewillthennotlockproperly.Thiscanbeidentifiedbythemissinglockingsoundandthemissingcheck-backsignalofthehazardwarninglights.
Ifthisshouldoccur:

Theremote-controlstandbyfunction
switchesoffafter7days
Ifthevehicleisnotstartedorunlockedwiththeremotecontrolwithinfivedays,theremotecontrolstandbyfunctionisswitchedoff(topreventdischargingofthecarbattery).
1.Inthiscase,unlockthedriver’sdoorwiththekeyatthedoorlock.Leavethedoorclosedinordertopreventthealarmsystemfrombeingtriggered.
2.Pressbutton1ontheremotecontrol.
Theremotecontrolisnowactivatedagainandthealarmsystemisswitchedoff.
Note
Donotinserttheignitionkeyintotheignitionlockifthevehiclebatteryisdischarged.Theignitionkeycannolongerberemoved.
Thekeycannotberemoveduntilthevehicleelectricalsystemissuppliedwithpoweragain.

Lockthedriver’sdoorwiththekeyatthedoorlock.Ifthereisadefectinthecentrallockingsystem,allfunctioningelementsofthecentrallockingsystemwillbelocked.
ThefaultshouldberemediedimmediatelyatanauthorizedPorschedealer.
Indicationbyemergencyasher
Iftheremotecontrolisusedforunlockingorlocking,aresponseisprovidedbytheemergencyflasher:
–Unlocking-singleflash.
–Locking-doubleflash.
Overloadprotection
Ifthecentrallockingsystemisoperatedmorethantentimeswithinaminute,furtheroperationisblockedfor30seconds.

Note

Presstherocker-switch.Indicatorlightintherockerswitchlightsupifignitionison.Ifthedoorswerelockedwiththecentrallockingswitch,theycanbeopenedbypullingtheinnerdoorhandletwice.
Unlocking
Presstherocker-switch.Indicatorlightgoesoff.
Automaticdoorlocking
YourauthorizedPorschedealercanprogramdiversetypesofautomaticdoorlockinginthecontrolunitofthecentrallockingsystem.
Type1
Doorslockautomaticallywhentheignitionisswitchedon.
Type2
Doorslockautomaticallywhenaspeedof3-6mph(5-10km/h)isexceeded.
Type3
Doorslockautomaticallywhentheignitionisswitchedon.Ifdoorsareopenedwiththeenginerunning,theylockagainautomaticallywhenaspeedof3-6mph(5-10km/h)isexceeded.
Type4
Thedoorsdonotlockautomatically.
Note
Automaticallylockeddoorscanbeunlockedwiththecentrallockingbuttonoropenedbypullingontheinsidedoorhandletwice.
