Donotadjustseatswhilethevehicleisinmotion.Thebackrestlocksmustbeengagedatalltimeswhilethevehicleisinmotion.

Safetybeltsonlyofferprotectionwhenthebackrestisuprightandthebeltsareproperlypositionedonthebody.Improperlypositionedsafetybeltsorsafetybeltswornbypassengersinanexcessivelyreclinedpositioncancauseseriouspersonalinjuryordeathinanaccident.
Donotoperatethecarwiththedriverorpassengerbackrestsexcessivelyreclined(see“Seatposition”).
Seatposition
Anergonomicallycorrectsittingpositionisimportantforsafeandfatigue-freedriving.Werecommendthefollowingprocedureforadjustingthedriver’sseattosuitindividualrequirements:
1.Vehicleswithmanualtransmission:Adjusttheseatuntil,withtheclutchpedalfullydepressed,yourlegremainsataslightangle.VehicleswithTiptronicS:Adjusttheseatuntil,withyourleftfootonthefootrest,yourleftlegremainsataslightangle.
2.Restyouroutstretchedarmonthesteeringwheel.Setthebackrestangleandthesteer-ing-wheelpositionsothatyourwristrestsontheouterrimofthesteeringwheel.Atthesametime,theshouldersmuststillbeinnoticeablecontactwiththebackrest.
3.Adjusttheseatheighttogiveyourselfenoughheadroomandagoodoverviewofthevehicle.
4.Electricallyadjustableseat:Adjusttheseatangleuntilyourthighsrestlightlyontheseatcushion.

Individualassignmentoftheremotecontrol
Eachremotecontrol(uptosix)canbeassignedanindividualseatanddoormirrorposition.Thestoredseatanddoormirrorpositionissetautomaticallywhenthevehicleisunlockedusingthecorrespondingremotecontrol.
Storingseatposition
1.Switchtheignitiononwiththedesiredvehiclekey.Reversegearmustnotbeengaged.
2.Setthedesiredseatanddoor-mirrorpositions.
3.KeepmemorybuttonMdepressedandadditionallypresskeybutton1.Theindividualsettingisnowassignedtothisremotecontrolandtothekeybutton.
Storingindividualloweredpositionofthe
passenger’sdoormirrorasaparkingaid
Oncethedriver’sseatsettinghasbeenstored,anindividualloweredpositionofthepassenger’sdoormirrormaybestoredfordrivinginreverse:
1.Applythehandbrake.
2.Switchtheignitiononwiththedesiredvehiclekey.
3.Engagereversegear.
4.Selectpassengersidewithmirrorswitch.Thepassenger’smirrorswivelsdownwards.
5.Setpassenger’sdoormirrortodesiredfinalposition.
6.KeepmemorybuttonMdepressedandadditionallypresskeybutton1.Theindividualsettingisnowassignedtothisremotecontrolandtothekeybutton.
Recallingseatposition
Unlockthelockedvehicleortheluggagecompartmentwiththeremotecontrol.Thestoredseatpositionisautomaticallyset.
Theseatpositionassignedtoaremotecontrolcanalsoberecalledwiththekeybutton1ifthecorrespondingkeywasusedtoswitchontheignition.
Ifnoseatpositionhasbeenassignedtoaremotecontrol,thekeybuttonwillnotwork.
Noteonoperation
Automaticseatadjustmentcanbeinterruptedimmediately:
byswitchingontheignition,
bypressingthecentrallockingbutton,
bypressinganymemoryorseatadjustmentbutton.
Clearingthestoredseatposition
1.Switchtheignitiononwiththedesiredvehiclekey.
Pressmemorybuttontwiceandkeybutton1onceconsecutively.

1.Inserttheignitionkeyfullyintoignitionlock.
2.Pushthelockingleverdownwards.
3.Adjuststeeringwheeltofitthechosenbackrestangleandyourseatpositionbymovingthesteeringwheelupordownandlongitudinally.
4.Swivellockingleverbackuntilyoufeelitengage.Ifnecessary,movethesteeringwheelslightlyupordownandlongitudinally.

Alwayskeepfeetinthefootwellwhiledriving.Donotputfeetonthedashboardortheseatarea.Donotleanagainsttheinsideofthedoororoutsidethewindowwhilethevehicleismoving.
UsingaccessoriesnotapprovedbyPorschecancausetheweightsensingsystemtobeimpaired.
Donotsqueezeobjects,suchasthefireextinguisher,orfirstaidkitundertheseat.
OnlyhaveseatsremovedandinstalledbyanauthorizedPorschedealersothatweightsensingcomponentswillnotbedamaged.

Whendisposingofausedairbagunit,oursafetyinstructionsmustbefollowed.TheseinstructionscanbeobtainedatanyauthorizedPorschedealer.
Functionoftheairbagsystem
Airbagsareasupplementalsafetysystem.Yourprimaryprotectioncomesfromyoursafetybelts.
Thefrontairbagsaretriggeredduringafrontalcollisionofsufficientforceanddirection.Inthe
eventofasideimpactofcorrespondingforce,thesideairbagontheimpactsideistriggered.
Theinflationprocessgeneratestheamountofgasrequiredtofilltheairbagsatthenecessarypressureinfractionsofasecond.
Airbagshelptoprotecttheheadandupperbody,whilesimultaneouslydampingthemotionofthedriverandpassengerintheimpactdirectionintheeventofafrontalimpactorsideimpact.
Inordertohelpprovideprotectioninseverecollisionswhichcancausedeathandseriousinjury,airbagsmustinflateextremelyrapidly.Suchhighspeedinflationhasanegativebutunavoidablesideeffect,whichisthatitcananddoescauseinjuries,includingfacialandarmabrasions,bruisingandbrokenbones.Youcanhelpminimizesuchinjuriesbyalwayswearingyoursafetybelts.
Therearemanytypesofaccidentsinwhichairbagsarenotexpectedtodeploy.Theseincludeaccidentswheretheairbagswouldprovidenobenefit,suchasarearimpactagainstyourvehicle.Otheraccidentswheretheairbagsaredesignednottodeployarethosewheretheriskofinjuryfromtheairbagdeploymentcouldexceedanyprotectivebenefits,suchasinlowspeedaccidentsorhigherspeedaccidentswherethevehicledeceleratesoveralongertime.Sinceairbagdeploymentdoesnotoccurinallaccidents,thisfurtheremphasizestheneedforyouandyourpassengertoalwayswearsafetybelts.
Yourvehicleisequippedwithacrashsensinganddiagnosticmodule.Thismodulewillrecordtheuseoftheseatbeltrestraintsystembythedriverandpassengerwhentheairbagsand/orbelttensionerwork.
AdvancedAirbag
Yourvehicleisequippedwithaweightsensingsystemforthepassenger’sseatinaccordancewithU.S.Federal/CanadianMotorVehicleSafetyStandard208.Dependingontheweightactingonthepassenger’sseat,thepassenger’sairbagwillautomaticallybeswitchedonandoff.
Dependingontheangleandforceofimpact,thepassenger’sairbagwhichisactivatedwillbetriggeredduringacollision.
Preconditionforswitchingthepassenger’sairbagonandoff,dependingonweight:
–Vehiclesequippedwithkey-operatedairbagdeactivationdevice:SwitchpositionAUTO.
–Ignitionkeyisinserted.
Seatadjustmentforthepassenger’sseat
Iftheseatisinanextremeposition(e.g.,thebackrestisincontactwiththeenginecompartmentwall),thebackrestcanwarp.Warpingofthebackrestcanleadtomalfunctions.

Correcttheseatadjustment.Ensurethattheseatisnotjammedandisself-supporting.Ensurethatthebackrestisintheuprightposition.
Donottransportaloadandobjectsbehindandunderthepassenger’sseat.Iftheloadorobjectsareundertheseat,itcancausemalfunctions.
Iftheweightonthepassenger’sseatisreducedsignificantly,e.g.,bysupportingweightonthearmrest,thepassenger’sairbagcanbeswitchedoff.
Selectanuprightseatposition,anddonotsupportweightonthearmrestsorleanoutofthewindow.Alwayskeepfeetinthefootwellwhiledriving.Donotputfeetonthedashboardortheseatarea.Donotleanagainsttheinsideofthedoororoutsidethewindowwhilethevehicleismoving.
Ifthepassenger’sseatiswarpedsignificantly,amessageisdisplayedontheon-boardcomputer:
