Boxster S
Why live life on standby?
Boxster S.Life cannot be lived too intensely. Driving
should be truly engaging. This is the core
message of the new Boxster S.
Producing 232 kW (315 hp) at 6,700 rpm,
its 3.4-litre flat-six engine with DFI and
VarioCam Plus delivers a might y 37 kW
(50 hp) and 80 Nm more than the engine
in the Boxster. Maximum torque of 360 Nm
is available from 4.500 rpm to 5.800 rpm. The sprint from 0 to 62 mph (0 to

100 km/ h) is completed in 5.1 seconds
and a top speed of 173 mph (279 km/ h)
can be achieved.
Nevertheless, the dynamic per formance
of the new Boxster S can be further
enhanced. With the optional Porsche
Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission and
the optional Sport Chrono Package, the
0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/ h) acceleration
time drops to a mere 4.8 seconds. Option -
al
Porsche Torque Vectoring (PT V) offers
increased agilit y and driving pleas
ure at
the same time as improving traction and
handling. The Boxster S delivers excite -
ment at every t wist and turn. Extra horsepower demands a higher

level of safet y. The front brake discs are
15 mm larger in diameter than those on
the Boxster and the brake calipers are
finished in red. 19-inch Boxster S light-
alloy wheels with a double-spoke design
are fit ted as standard and create an
exceptionally powerful presence for
a roadster. The slats on the front air intakes are

finished in black. The Boxster S comes
with Bi-Xenon headlights as standard.
The centrally positioned dual-tube twin
tailpipe in brushed stainless steel sounds
as impressive as it looks.

interpretation of the classic roadster.
It has been engineered to provide an
immediate, intense experience. Standby
mode is not an option.

Safety
On the road to independence, there is no
room for the slightest element of doubt.
The active and passive safet y concept
of the new Boxster models is designed
to ensure driving pleasure through peace
of mind.
Safet y is founded on a precisely engi -
neered chassis and high-performance
braking system. It also involves intelligent
control systems, such as Porsche Stability
Management (PSM), and depends on
an innovative body construction designed
to keep your roadster stable without
diminishing its agilit y. It is enhanced by an ingenious lighting concept featuring
powerful headlights, by assistance

systems that give you the information
you need and by an interior that provides
reliable protection in the event of an
accident.
Engineered body design.
The bodyshell of the new Boxster models
is based on an intelligent light weight
principle involving the composite con -
struction of aluminium and steel. The
use of dissimilar but precisely combined
components makes it possible to utilise
specific material properties exactly

performance needs a stable concept.
Safety.
where they are needed. Not only does
this provide a high level of safet y for
the driver, it offers a considerable weight
saving compared with the bodyshell of
the previous model. This is why the doors
of both luggage compartment lids are
made from lightweight aluminium.
The crumple zones in the front and
rear aprons feature integral light-alloy
bumpers, while impact absorbers offer
additional safet y. For the protection of
occupants, energy-absorbing padding is
used selectively in important areas within
the passenger cell.

Sports seats.
The standard Sports seats are comforta
-
ble and provide support even during
performance driving. The seat centres
are finished in Alcantara, a material
renowned in motorsport for its durability.
The seats are equipped as standard with
electric backrest adjustment and manual
height and fore/aft adjustment.
Sports seats Plus.
The optional Sports seats Plus are uphol -
stered in smooth -finish leather. The side
bolsters of the seat squab and backrest
are more prominently defined and have
a firmer, more sport y padding for even
bet ter lateral support. The backrest shell
up to the headrest has a Silver Grey Metallic paint finish. To help you find

the optimum posture, the seats feature
electric backrest adjustment and manual
height and fore/aft adjustment.
Fully electric Sports seats.
If you don’t want to sacrifice sportiness
for comfort, the optional fully electric
Sports seats offer fully electric adjust -
ment of seat height, backrest angle,
squab angle and squab depth. Also electri -
cally operated are the fore/aft adjustment,
four-way lumbar support and even the
steering column. The memory function
supports the exterior mirrors and all seat
positions on the driver’s side as well as
set tings for the steering wheel, lights,
wipers, two-zone automatic climate control

Seating.
(optional), door locks, PCM (optional) and
instrument cluster.
Adaptive Sports seats Plus.
The optional adaptive Sports seats Plus
are the ideal combination of sport and
comfort. Offering 18-way fully electric
adjustment, the seats can be optimally
adapted to meet your needs in terms
of seat height, squab and backrest angle,
squab length, fore/aft adjustment
and four-way lumbar support. Steering
column adjustment is also electronically
supported.
In addition, the side bolsters on the seat
squab and backrest are independently
adjustable for added comfort on winding

ory for all seat positions (apart from the
side bolsters) on the driver’s side as well
as the positions of the steering wheel
and exterior mirrors. The memory func -
tion additionally supports settings for
the lights, wipers, two-zone automatic
climate control (optional), door locks,
PCM (optional) and instrument cluster.
Seat heating and ventilation.
Seat heating is available as an option for
all seats. Seats are heated in the squab,
backrest and side bolsters.
On request, we can equip all our seats
with seat ventilation (only in conjunction
with seat heating). A slipstream effect is produced by active ventilation of the

perforated seat centre and backrest and
by passive aeration at the side bolsters.
This evaporates perspiration moisture
and therefore makes for a dry and
pleasant seating environment, even in
hot weather.

Child seats.
A Boxster should be enjoyed by passen -
gers of all ages. ISOFIX child seat
preparation is available as an option and
includes a deactivation function for the
passenger airbag.

Air conditioning system.
An air conditioning system with integrated
active carbon filter is fit ted as standard.
The filter traps particles, pollen and
odours. The ventilation pat tern is wide and
the air conditioning is quiet and effective.
Two-zone automatic climate control.
Two-zone automatic climate control is
available as an option. It provides an
enhanced ventilation effect and has sepa -
rate temperature controls for the driver
and front passenger. The available air
conditioning modes are gentle, normal
and strong.
The automatic air-recirculation function
permanently monitors air quality, reduces humidit y and switches from fresh to

recirculated air when required. Another
function makes it possible to use the
residual heat of the engine to heat
the passenger compartment for up to
20 minutes with the ignition switched off.
Storage compartments.
Ingenious storage solutions create plent y
of space: the lockable glove compart -
ment, the compartment with a power
socket under the armrest in the rear
centre console and the uncovered com -
partment to the front of it. In conjunction
with the smoking package, the uncovered
compartment makes way for an ashtray
with a lid. Other storage features include
t wo compartments in each door, a net in
the passenger foot well, clothes hooks on
the seat backrests and t wo practical
cupholders above the glove compartment.
Light design package.
The optional light design package
comprises dimmable LEDs in the door
panels, overhead console and footwells.
LED lighting in the luggage compart -
ments is additionally included.
‘Welcome Home’ lighting.
The ‘Welcome Home’ lighting function
automatically switches on the LED day time
running lights for a user-defined period
whenever the vehicle is opened or closed
using the key remote.
Water-repellent side windows.
The surfaces of the side windows are
treated with a water-repellent coating
so that not only water but also dirt
runs away more easily, thereby providing
clearer visibilit y even in poor weather.
