Theheadlightwashersystemautomaticallyspraysonceforeverytentimesthefrontwindshieldwashersystemisoperated.
Note
Thewindshieldwashernozzlesareheatedwhentheignitionison,asaprecautionagainstfreezing.

Invehicleswitharainsensortheamountofrainfall(snowfalltoo)whichhassettledonthewindshieldismeasured.Wiperspeedisautomaticallyadjustedaccordingly.
Switchingon
Movewiperleverupwardstothefirstclick.
Switchingoff
Movewiperlevertoposition0.
Therainsensorremainsswitchedoffifthewiperleverisalreadyinposition1whentheignitionisswitchedon.
Toswitchtherainsensoronagain:

Changethesensitivityoftherainsensorwithfour-stageswitchA.

Changingthesensitivityoftherainsensor
SensitivitycanbesetwithswitchAin4stages:
AdjustswitchAupwards-highsensitivity.Thesettingisconfirmedbyonewipeofthewindshield.
AdjustswitchAdownwards-lowsensitivity.
Maintenancenote
Periodicallycleanthewiperbladeswithawin-dowcleaner,especiallyafterthevehiclehasbeenwashedinacarwash.WerecommendPorschewindowcleaner.Iftheyareverydirty(e.g.withinsectremains),theycanbecleanedwithaspongeorcloth.
Ifthewiperbladesruborsqueak,thismaybeasaresultofthefollowing:
Ifthevehicleiswashedinanautomaticcarwash,waxresiduesmaybeadheringtothewindshield.Thesewaxresiduescanberemovedusingawindowcleanerconcentrate.

Ifyourcarisdisabledorparkedunderemer-gencyconditionsswitchontheemergencyflasherinthedashboard.Allturnsignalsandtheindicatorlightintheswitchflashwiththesamefrequency.

Modeofoperation
SelectpositionDfor“normal”driving.Thegearsareshiftedautomaticallyaccordingtotheacceleratorpositionandspeed.
Dependingonthewaythevehicleisdrivenandontheresistance(e.g.uphill),thegear-changingpointsareshiftedtowardshigherorlowerengine-speedranges.Theacceleratorposition,drivingspeed,enginespeed,longitudinalandlateralaccelerationandtheroadprofileallhaveaninfluenceonthegear-changingcharacteristic.
Unwantedupwardshifts,e.g.beforebends,arepreventedbyswiftlyreleasingtheacceleratorpedal.
Dependingonlateralacceleration,upwardshiftsonbendsarenotmadeuntiltheengine-speedlimitisreached.
Underbraking,anddependingontheamountofdeceleration,theTiptronicshiftsdownearlier.Forsubsequentcornering,therightgearisengagedwhenpressureisappliedtothebrakesbeforethebend.Thebendistakenintherightgear,andwhenyouaccelerateoutofthebendyoudonothavetoshiftdown.
Sportmodeswitchedon
