Procedure
1.Important:Stoptheengineandswitchofftheignition.
2.Slowlyunscrewthetankcap.Hangthetankcapontheplasticstrapofthefillerflap.
3.Insertfuel-hosenozzlefullyintothefillerneckwiththehandleofthefuel-hosenozzlefacingdown.
4.Donotaddfurtherfueloncethecorrectlyoperatedautomaticfuel-hosenozzlehasswitchedoff.Fuelcouldsprayorcouldrunoverinwarmtemperatures.
5.Replacethetankcapimmediatelyafterrefuelingandturnituntilyouhearitandfeelitengage.
Ifyoulosethetankcap,youmustreplaceitonlywithanoriginalparttoreducethepossibilityofareintheeventofacollision.

Theoillevelisautomaticallymeasuredduringrefuelling.

FuelEvaporationControl
Fueltankventing
Theevaporationchamberandthecarboncanisterpreventfuelfromescapingtotheatmosphereatextremehighoutsidetemperatures,whendrivingabruptlyaroundcurvesandwhenthecarisparkedataninclineorinanyothernonlevelposition.
Vaporcontrolsystemandstorage
Whenthefueltankisfilled,vaporsarecollectedintheevaporationchamberbyaventlineleadingthevaporstothecarboncanisterwheretheyarestoredaslongastheenginedoesnotrun.
Purgesystem
Whentheengineisrunning,thefuelvaporsfromthecanisterwillbemixedwithfreshairfromtheambientairofthecanister.Thismixturewillbedirectedtotheintakeairhousingbythetankventline,mixedwiththeintakeairandburnedduringnormalcombustion.

Tirewear
TheoriginalequipmenttiresonyourPorschehavebuilt-intirewearindicators.Theyaremoldedintothebottomofthetreadgroovesandwillappearasapproximately1/2in.(12mm)bandswhenthetiretreaddepthisdownto1/16ofanin.(1.6mm).
Whentheindicatorsappearintwoormoreadjacentgrooves,itistimetoreplacethetires.Werecommend,however,thatyoudonotletthetiresweardowntothisextent.Worntirescannotgriptheroadsurfaceproperlyandareevenlesseffectiveonwetroads.
IntheUnitedStates,statelawsmaygoverntheminimumtreaddepthpermissible.Followallsuchlaws.

Drivingonworntirescanresultinlossofcontrolofthevehicleandcouldcauseseriouspersonalinjuriesordeath.
Donotdrivewithworntiresortiresshowingcutsorbruisesastheymayleadtosuddendeflationandlossofcontrolwhichcouldcauseseverepersonalinjury.
Specializedhighperformancetiresonhighperformancesportscarsexhibitmorewearthanthoseonafamilysedan,orevenahighperformancesedan.Therefore,itisimportanttocheckyourtirepressureandconditionatleasteverytwoweeks.
Ifyounoticethattiresarewearingunevenly,consultyourPorschedealer.Unevenwearmaynotalwaysbeduetoimproperwheelalignment.Itcanbetheresultofindividualdrivinghabitssuchascorneringathighspeeds.Ifthetirepressureisnotcheckedandadjustedregularly,abnormaltirewearcanalsooccur.

Donotuseabrasivecleanerswhenwashingthewheels.
Checkwheelrimsforcorrosion.
Removeroadsalt,ifdrivinginwinter.
Tiredamage,puncture
Checktiresforimbeddedmaterial,cuts,punctures,cracksandbulges(sidewall)beforedrivingoff.
Incaseoftiredamage,whereitisuncertainwhetherthereisabreakintheplywithallitsconsequencesortiredamagecausedbythermalormechanicaloverloadingduetolossofpressureoranyotherpriordamage,werecommendthatthetirebereplacedforsafetyreasons.
Ifonefaultytireisreplaceditshouldbenotedthatthedifferenceintreaddepthononeaxlemustnotexceed30%.Handlinginconsistenciesmayresult.
