Functionoftheairbagsystem
Airbagsareasupplementalsafetysystem.Yourprimaryprotectioncomesfromyoursafetybelts.
Thefrontairbagsaretriggeredduringafrontalcollisionofsufficientforceanddirection.Inthe
eventofasideimpactofcorrespondingforce,thesideairbagontheimpactsideistriggered.
Theinflationprocessgeneratestheamountofgasrequiredtofilltheairbagsatthenecessarypressureinfractionsofasecond.
Airbagshelptoprotecttheheadandupperbody,whilesimultaneouslydampingthemotionofthedriverandpassengerintheimpactdirectionintheeventofafrontalimpactorsideimpact.
Inordertohelpprovideprotectioninseverecollisionswhichcancausedeathandseriousinjury,airbagsmustinflateextremelyrapidly.Suchhighspeedinflationhasanegativebutunavoidablesideeffect,whichisthatitcananddoescauseinjuries,includingfacialandarmabrasions,bruisingandbrokenbones.Youcanhelpminimizesuchinjuriesbyalwayswearingyoursafetybelts.
Therearemanytypesofaccidentsinwhichairbagsarenotexpectedtodeploy.Theseincludeaccidentswheretheairbagswouldprovidenobenefit,suchasarearimpactagainstyourvehicle.Otheraccidentswheretheairbagsaredesignednottodeployarethosewheretheriskofinjuryfromtheairbagdeploymentcouldexceedanyprotectivebenefits,suchasinlowspeedaccidentsorhigherspeedaccidentswherethevehicledeceleratesoveralongertime.Sinceairbagdeploymentdoesnotoccurinallaccidents,thisfurtheremphasizestheneedforyouandyourpassengertoalwayswearsafetybelts.
Yourvehicleisequippedwithacrashsensinganddiagnosticmodule.Thismodulewillrecordtheuseoftheseatbeltrestraintsystembythedriverandpassengerwhentheairbagsand/orbelttensionerwork.
AdvancedAirbag
Yourvehicleisequippedwithaweightsensingsystemforthepassenger’sseatinaccordancewithU.S.Federal/CanadianMotorVehicleSafetyStandard208.Dependingontheweightactingonthepassenger’sseat,thepassenger’sairbagwillautomaticallybeswitchedonandoff.
Dependingontheangleandforceofimpact,thepassenger’sairbagwhichisactivatedwillbetriggeredduringacollision.
Preconditionforswitchingthepassenger’sairbagonandoff,dependingonweight:
–Vehiclesequippedwithkey-operatedairbagdeactivationdevice:SwitchpositionAUTO.
–Ignitionkeyisinserted.
Seatadjustmentforthepassenger’sseat
Iftheseatisinanextremeposition(e.g.,thebackrestisincontactwiththeenginecompartmentwall),thebackrestcanwarp.Warpingofthebackrestcanleadtomalfunctions.

Thekeyswitchforswitchingoffthepassenger’sairbagandtheLATCHattachmentbracketarenotinstalledatthefactory.Theycanberetrofitted.
PleaseseeyourauthorizedPorschedealer.
PorscherecommendstheuseofaPorscheChildSeatwithLowerAnchorageandTetherforChildrensystem(LATCH).ThesesystemshavebeentestedandadjustedtotheinteriorofyourPorscheandtheappropriatechildagegroups.Othersystemshavenotbeentestedandcouldentailanincreasedriskofinjury.
YoucanobtainchildseatsthatareLATCHcompati-bleatyourauthorizedPorschedealer.

Aspecialmentionmustbemadehereofnaturalleather.Fornaturalleather,carefullyselectedhidesofthehighestqualityareused.Itisnotcoveredcompletelywithdyeonproduction.“Nature’ssignature”isthereforeeasilyrecognizable.Thisfinematerialisdistinguishedbyanoutstandingseatingcomfort,specialsupplenessandatypicalpatina.
Leathercareandtreatment
Cleanalltypesofleatherregularlytoremovefinedustusingasoft,damp,whitewoolenclothoracommerciallyavailablemicrofibercloth.
RemoveheavycontaminationwithPorscheleathercleaner.Pleasealwaysfollowtheinstructionsforusegivenonthecontainers.
Causticcleanersandhardcleaningobjectsmustnotbeused.
Perforatedleathermustundernocircum-stancesgetwetonitsreverseside.
Oncecleaned,leather(particularlytheheavilystressedleatherseats)mustbetreatedonlywithPorscheleathercareliquid.
Fabric,upholstery,carpetsandoor-mats
Useonlyavacuumcleaneroramediumstiffbrush.
RemovestainsandspotswithPorschestainremover.
