the Porsche Development Centre in
Weissach, Germany – from design
through to launch. Every product
undergoes exhaustive testing
throughout its development to
ensure optimum performance and
durabilit y. This is because they
have to meet the highest standards
of Porsche quality and functionality.
One of the highlights of the range
is the sports tailpipe. Painstakingly
craf ted from stainless steel, it
has a polished, nanocoat finish.
As part of its development, the
sports tailpipe underwent exten-
sive testing in our Weissach
facility. In the hot-shaker test rig
it was subjected to various load
profiles and its stabilit y under the
effect of road and engine vibra-
tions was examined. The sports

The chassis of the Cayman is no
exception. The suspension is not
only firm, it ’s sport y, too. Feedback

well as enhancing the car’s pres-
ence on the road, this improves
driving dynamics. The visual ef fect is further augmented by the centre
spokes in GT Silver Metallic and the
high-gloss polished outer rim.

Porsche Vehicle Tracking
System (PV TS)
Enables remote location of a
stolen vehicle in 27 European
countries as well as in Russia and
South Africa. Location is not
continual, but occurs only in the
event of an alarm. A silent alarm
is automatically triggered if the
car is stolen or tampered with, or
af ter notification from the vehicle
owner. In addition to the extra

Almost all of the functions of
PCM can be activated by voice
control. The system recognises
commands or figure sequences
irrespective of the speaker. It
securit y offered by this system,
it may also, depending on the coun-
try, reduce your insurance premi-
um. The system has been tested
using multiple simulated thefts in
27 European countries and Russia
and the service has been adapted
to fully meet Porsche qualit y
requirements. Your Porsche Centre
will be happy to provide you with
further information.
