Relax and take things easy –
in dynamic style.
Everyone needs to escape the everyday
stresses and strains from time to time.
Some people like to do this by exploring
a more dynamic side of life.
In the new Cayenne GTS beats the heart
of a pure athlete that knows only one
direction: straight ahead. The uprated,
naturally aspirated 4.8-liter V8 engine
delivers 420 hp at 6,500 rpm. Maximum
torque of 380 lb.-ft. is available at
3,500 rpm. The benchmark sprint from
0 to 60 is completed in just 5.4 seconds.
Top track speed comes in at 162 mph.
The engine power of the new Cayenne GTS
is 20 hp higher and boasts an added
11 lb.-ft. of torque compared to the
Cayenne S. A shorter drive ratio further
enhances the car’s agilit y. So you feel the
pulse of the road – every inch of the way. Drive is transmit ted to the road with
smoothness and precision by the stand
-
ard eight-speed Tiptronic S. Depending
on road conditions and driving st yle, it
automatically selects the correct driving
mode. You can change gear using t wo
gearshift paddles on the standard
SportDesign steering wheel. One pull
on the right-hand paddle and Tiptronic S
shifts up. One pull on the left-hand
paddle and Tiptronic S shifts down.
As you’d expect from a true top performer,
the new Cayenne GTS is also highly
efficient. Thanks to intelligent
performance.
Standard fuel-saving technologies include
the Auto Start Stop function, VarioCam
Plus and Direct Fuel Injection (DFI). DFI
injects fuel directly into the combustion
chamber with millisecond precision using
electromagnetic injectors. This increases the air/fuel mix, thereby enhancing com
-
bustion for higher output and torque with
lower fuel consumption and emissions. Thermal management activates the differ
-
ent cooling circuits individually, thereby
ensuring that the optimum temperature
for the engine and transmission is reached
more quickly after a cold start. This
minimizes friction and keeps fuel
consumption and CO
2 emissions low
during warm-up. The standard sport exhaust system
delivers an even more distinctive sound.
For the looks to match, it features t win
dual-tube tailpipes finished in matte black.
The drive system on the new Cayenne GTS
is designed for one thing above all else:
Performance.
