HANDS-FREE COMMUNICATION (UConnect\5)—
IF EQUIPPED
NOTE: The sales code RER and REU radios contain an
integrated Hands-Free Communication (UConnect \3)
system. Refer to your “Navigation User’s Manual” for
UConnect\3 system operating instructions for these ra-
dios. Radio sales code can be located on the lower right
corner of the Radio faceplate.
UConnect\3 is a voice-activated, hands-free, in-vehicle
communications system. UConnect\3 allows you to dial a
phone number with your cellular phone using simple
voice commands (e.g., \6Call”\7“Mike” \7”Work\6 or\6Dial”
\7 “248-555-1212\6). Your cellular phone’s audio is trans-
mitted through your vehicle’s audio system; the system
will automatically mute your radio when using the
UConnect\3 system. NOTE:
The UConnect\3 system requires a cellular phone
equipped with the Bluetooth\3\6 Hands-Free Profile,\6Ve r -
sion 0.96 or higher. See the UConnect\3 website for

UConnect\3 allows you to transfer calls between the
system and your cellular phone as you enter or exit your
vehicle and enables you to mute the system’s microphone
for private conversation.

The UConnect\3system is fully integrated with the vehi-
cle’s audio system. The volume of the UConnect\3 system
can be adjusted either from the radio volume control
knob or from the steering wheel radio control (right
switch), if so equipped.
The radio display will be used for visual prompts from
the UConnect\3 system such as \6CELL\6or caller ID on
certain radios.
Operation
Voice commands can be used to operate the UConnect \3
system and to navigate through the UConnect\3 menu
structure. Voice commands are required after most
UConnect\3 system prompts. You will be prompted for a
specific command and then guided through the available
options.
•Prior to giving a voice command, one must wait for
the beep, which follows the \6Ready\6prompt or another
prompt.
•For certain operations, compound commands can be
used. For example, instead of saying \6Setup\6and then
\6Phone Pairing,\6 the following compound command
can be said: \6Setup Phone Pairing.\6
•For each feature explanation in this section, only the
combined form of the voice command is given. You
can also break the commands into parts and say each
part of the command when you are asked for it. For
example, you can use the combined form voice com-
mand\6Phonebook New Entry,\6 or you can break the
combined form command into two voice commands:
\6Phonebook\6 and\6New Entry.\6 Please remember, the
UConnect\3 system works best when you talk in a
normal conversational tone, as if speaking to someone
sitting a few feet/meters away from you.

Satellite Navigation Radio and CD Player with MP3
Capability (REC) - combines a Global-Positioning
System-based navigation system with an integrated color
screen to provide maps, turn identification, selection

menus and instructions for selecting a variety of destina-
tions and routes, AM/FM stereo radio and six-disc CD
changer with MP3 capability.
Mapping information for navigation is supplied on a
DVD that is loaded into the unit. One map DVD covers
all of North America. Refer to your “Navigation User’s
Manual” for detailed operating instructions.

REC Setting the Clock
GPS Clock
The GPS receiver used in this system is synchronized to
the time data being transmitted by the GPS satellites. The
satellites’ clock is Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). This isthe worldwide standard for time. This makes the sys-
tem’s clock very accurate once the appropriate time zone
and daylight savings information is set.
1. At the
Main Menu screen, highlight “Clock Setup”
and press ENTER ORpress and hold the TIME button on
the unit’s faceplate for three seconds. The Clock Setup
screen appears.

3. To decrease the clock by one hour, use the Select
Encoder to highlight the “-” sign. Press ENTER. Press
ENTER again to decrease the clock by another hour.
4. To increase the clock by minutes, make sure “MIN +”
is highlighted and press ENTER. Press ENTER again to
increase the clock by another minute.
5. To decrease the clock by minutes, use the Select
Encoder to highlight the “-“ sign. Press ENTER. Press
ENTER again to decrease the clock by another minute.
6. Select “DONE” to exit from the clock setting mode.
Press ENTER to save your changes. If you press CAN-
CEL or NAV then your changes will not be saved.
SATELLITE RADIO — IF EQUIPPED
Satellite radio uses direct satellite to receiver broadcast-
ing technology to provide clear digital sound, coast to
coast. The subscription service provider is Sirius SatelliteRadio. This service offers over 130 channels of music,
sports, news, entertainment, and programming for chil-
dren, directly from its satellites and broadcasting studios.
NOTE:
Sirius service is not available in Hawaii and has
limited coverage in Alaska.
System Activation
Sirius Satellite Radio service is pre-activated, and you
may begin listening immediately to the one year of audio
service that is included with the factory-installed satellite
radio system in your vehicle. Sirius will supply a wel-
come kit that contains general information, including
how to setup your on-line listening account at no addi-
