Do not use the engine
remote start-up function or
its programming when:
β the vehicle is in a garage
or in a confined space.
Risk of poisoning or suffoca-
tion by exhaust gas emissions.
β the vehicle is covered with a pro- tective cover.
Fire hazard.
β the bonnet is open or before it opens.
Risk of burns or serious injury.
Depending on the country, the use of the remote starting
function or its programming
can be prohibited by the legis
lation and/or the regulations in force.
Before using this function, check the legislation and/or the regu-
lations for the country in force.The remote engine start-up operates:
β the lever is in neutral for vehicles with a manual or sequential gearbox;
β the lever is in position P for vehicles
with an automatic gearbox;
β the ignition is off and no key is in- serted into the ignition switch;
β the bonnet is closed;
β all of the opening elements (doors and luggage compartment) are
closed and locked when you leave
the vehicle;
β in very cold weather conditions, the remote engine start-up by program-
ming may not operate;
β If the vehicle is equipped with an au- tomatic transmission, after the stop
of the engine or an attempt failed the
remote engine start-up, wait 10 sec-
onds to make a new attempt.
If one of the conditions is not respected,
flashers will turn on during approxi-
mately 3 seconds.
Note: In some rare case, the engine
can be stopped just after engine start
by remote engine start-up. In this case,
remote engine start-up is available and
driver can try to use again.
If the engine is stopped continuously,
consult an approved Dealer as soon as
possible.

Special feature of vehicles
equipped with the βwake up every
2 hoursβ function
It is imperative to drive at least 10
minutes between each use of the
function. If you use this function,
there are risk of degradation of the
engine oil.

If fitted on the vehicle, the tailgate locks
and unlocks at the same time as the
doors.
Depending on the vehicle, you have se-
veral different ways to manoeuvre the
tailgate:
β using the RENAULT card remote control;
β using the controls on the tailgate;
β using the dashboard control;
β using the hands-free function.
AUTOMATIC TAILGATE (1/5)
Conditions of use
β Immobilise the vehicle.
β If there is any ice or snow prevent-ing the tailgate from opening, this ice
or snow must be removed to free the
tailgate.
β In the event that the battery is dis- charged or if it is changed, the tail-
gate should be closed (manually
if necessary) to restart the tailgate
motor.
Ensure that nobody is close
to the moving parts when
opening/closing the tail-
gate.
Risk of injury.
Opening/Closing
Activating the automatic tailgate ope-
ning or closing using the dashboard
control or using the RENAULT card
causes three beeps to sound just
before the tailgate begins to move.
When opening or closing the tail-
gate, ensure that nothing interferes
with the manoeuvre.
To avoid damaging the tailgate
system, do not manually force the
tailgate to open or close while it is
moving.
The attaching of any
carrying device (bike rack,
luggage box, etc.) resting
on the luggage compart-
ment lid is prohibited. To install a
carrying device on your vehicle,
contact an Approved Dealer.

The following advice will enable you to carry out quick, temporary repai\
rs. For safety reasons you should always contact
an approved dealer as soon as possible.
Using the remote controlPOSSIBLE CAUSES ACTION REQUIRED
The remote control does not lock or
unlock the doors. The remote control battery is flat.
Use the emergency key.
Use of appliances operating on the same
frequency as the remote control (mobile
phone, etc.). Stop using the devices or use the key.
Vehicle located in a high electromagnetic
radiation zone.
Discharged battery. Replace the battery. You can still lock/
unlock and start your vehicle (refer to the
information on βLocking/unlocking the
doorsβ in Section 1 and βStarting/Stopping
the engineβ in Section 2).
The vehicle is started. With the engine running, the keyβs locking/
unlocking device is blocked. Turn off the
ignition.
