detected for 60 seconds, or can be reset by using the

CAUTION:
. The outlet and plug may be hot during or

. This power outlet is not designed for use

double adapters or more than one electrical
accessory.
. Use power outlets with the engine running
to avoid discharging the vehicle battery.
. Avoid using power outlets when the air
conditioner, headlights or rear window de-
fogger is on.
. Before inserting or disconnecting a plug, be
sure to turn off the power switch of electrical
accessory being used and the ignition
switch.
. Push the plug in as far as it will go. If good
contact is not made, the plug may overheat
or the internal temperature fuse may open. .
Do not allow water to contact the outlet.
. When not in use, be sure to close the cap.

ton to set the desired temperature.

air temperature. \boing so may cause the tem-
perature to not \fe controlled properly.
. If the windows fog up, use dehumidified heating
instead of the A/C off heating.
Dehumidified defrosting/defogging:
1. Push the front defogger “
” \futton. (The
“” indicator light will illuminate.)
2. Push the temperature control “
”/“” \fut-
ton to set the desired temperature.
. To remove frost from the outside surface of the
windshield quickly, set the temperature to a high
temperature and the fan speed to the maximum
level.
. After the windshield is cleared, push the front
defogger “
” \futton again. (The indicator light
will turn off.)
. When the front defogger “
” \futton is pushed,
the air conditioner will automatically turn on when
the outside air temperature is a\fove í28C (288F)
to defog the windshield. The air recirculation mode
will automatically turn off. The outside air circula-
tion mode “
” will \fe selected to improve the
defogging performance.
Manual operation
The manual mode can \fe used to control the heater
and air conditioner to your desired settings. (“MAN-
UAL” will appear on the display.)
To turn off the heater and air conditioner, push the
“OFF” \futton. Fan speed control:
Push the fan speed control “
”/“” \futton. Push
the “” \futton to increase the fan speed. Push the
“” \futton to decrease the fan speed.
Push the “AUTO” \futton to change the fan speed to
the automatic mode.
Air flow control:
Push the “MO\bE” \futton to change the air flow mode.
— Air flows from the center and side ventila- tors.
— Air flows from the center and side ventila-tors and foot outlets.
— Air flows mainly from the foot outlets
— Air flows from the defogger outlets and footoutlets.
Temperature control:
Push the temperature control “
”/“” \futton to
set the desired temperature. Push the “” \futton to
increase the temperature. Push the “” \futton to
decrease the temperature.
Outside air circulation:
Push the outside air circulation “
” \futton to draw
the air flow from outside the vehicle. (The “”
indicator light will illuminate.)
Air recirculation:
Push the air recirculation “
” \futton to circulate the
air flow inside the vehicle. (The “” indicator light
will illuminate.) Automatic air intake control:
If the indicator light on either the outside air circulation
“
” \futton or the air recirculation “” \futton is
illuminated, push the \futton with the light illuminated to
turn the light off. The automatic control is set \fetween
the outside air circulation “
” and air recirculation
“” modes.
SERVICING AIR CON\bITIONER
WARNING:
The air conditioner system contains refrigerant
under high pressure. To avoid personal injury,
any air conditioner service should be done only
by an experienced technician with the proper
equipment.
The air conditioner system in your vehicle is charged
with a refrigerant designed with the environment in
mind.
This refrigerant will not harm the earth’s ozone
layer. However, it may contri\fute in a small part to
glo\fal warming.
Special charging equipment and lu\fricant are required
when servicing your vehicle’s air conditioner. Using
improper refrigerants or lu\fricants will cause severe
damage to the air conditioner system. (See “Air
conditioner system refrigerant and lu\fricant” (P.9-4) .)

environmentally friendly air conditioner system.

AUX button:
The AUX IN jack is located on the audio unit. The AUX
IN audio in\but jack acce\bts any standard analog audio
in\but such as from a \bortable cassette ta\be, CD \blayer,
MP3 \blayer or la\bto\b com\buters.
Push the AUX button to \blay a com\batible device \fhen
it is \blugged into the AUX IN jack.
CAUTION:
. Do not allow the cable or an external device
connected to the AUX terminal to affect your
driving.
. Connect a stereo mini-plug (3.5 mm in
diameter) cable to the AUX IN jack. If a
monaural mini-plug cable is used, the audio
will not output correctly.
WARNING:
.Depending on the external device, please
note that the volume may be louder or
quieter than that of the external device.
. When the AUX contacts with the plug of the
connector cable, noise may be heard.
. The connected exterior device cannot be
operated with the main audio system. The
volume and sound quality can be adjusted.
. The song title in the external device cannot
be displayed on the audio display. .
For the power source of the external device,
use the special battery. The external device
cannot be charged with the AUX terminal.
Noise may be heard if the CD, radio etc. is
operated while charging the battery with the
power socket of the vehicle.

When the
/button is \bushed \fhile the audio
system is off, the audio system \fill turn on and the
radio \fill turn on.
When the
/button is \bushed \fhile another
audio source is \blaying, the another audio source \fill
turn off and the radio \fill turn on.
To change the radio bands, \bush the
/button
until the desired band (FM1, FM2, AM) is dis\blayed.
The FM stereo indicator, “ST” \fill dis\blay during FM
stereo rece\btion. When the stereo broadcast signal is
\feak, the radio \fill automatically change from stereo
to monaural rece\btion.
TUNE/FF·REW/FOLDER button:
When adjusting the broadcasting station frequency
manually, \bush the
orbutton until the desired
frequency is achieved.
When adjusting the broadcasting station frequency
automatically, \bush the
orbutton. When the
system detects a broadcasting station, it \fill sto\b at
the station.
SEEK UP/DOWN button:
When adjusting the broadcasting station frequency
automatically, \bush the
button. When the
system detects a broadcasting station, it \fill sto\b at
the station.
button:
When the
button is \bushed, the system \fill seek
and sto\b at the detected broadcasting station for 5
seconds, and then it \fill start to seek for the next
broadcasting station.
Push the
button in this 5-second \beriod to sto\b
seeking.
Radio memory button:
The audio system can store u\b to 12 FM station
frequencies (for FM1 and FM2) and 6 AM station
frequencies.
To store the station frequency:
1. Tune to the desired broadcasting station fre- quency by using the
orbutton.
2. Push and hold a memory button (1 - 6) until a bee\b sounds.

\fhe FM stereo indicator, “S\f” will displa\b during FM

seconds, and then it will start to seek for the next
broadcasting station.

button in this 5-second period to stop
seeking.
Radio memory button:
\fhe audio s\bstem can store up to 12 FM station
frequencies (for FM1 and FM2) and 6 AM station
frequencies.
\fo store the station frequenc\b:
1. \fune to the desired broadcasting station fre- quenc\b b\b using the
orbutton.
2. Push and hold a memor\b button (1 - 6) until a beep sounds.
3. \fhe switch number and frequenc\b will appear on the displa\b when the memor\b is stored properl\b.
4. Perform steps 1 - 3 for all other memor\b buttons.
Push a memor\b button (1 - 6) to select a desired
memor\b.
If the batter\b cable is disconnected, or if the audio fuse
blows, the radio memor\b will be erased. In such a case,
reset the desired stations.
(Automatic Preset) button:
\fhe audio s\bstem can store up to 6 FM station
frequencies and 6 AM station frequencies.
\fo store the station frequenc\b automaticall\b, push and
hold the
button until a beep sounds. \fhe station
will be automaticall\b stored in the “AU\fO.P” memor\b.
\fhe displa\b indicates “AP-**”.
