8Diesel fuelThe Service Centre “service advisor” can provide information about which
countries use fuel with a high sulphur content. In these cases, the oil must be
changed every 7,500 km (5,000 miles).
Caution
•Vehicles with the label “UNSUITABLE FOR BIODIESEL” on the fuel cover
cannot be driven using biodiesel.•To be certain if your vehicle can be used with biodiesel according to the
DIN EN 14214 (FAME) standard, consult your Service Centre.•DIN is a German abbreviation for “ Deutsches Institut für N ormung e.V.”,
the German standards institute.•EN means European Norm.•FAME is the English abbreviation for “ Fatty Acid Methyl Ester”.LongLife SEAT ServicesWhat is the LongLife SEAT service?
The service intervals are flexibleWhereas conventional service intervals are calculated according to the
number of kilometres travelled, the LongLife Service employs a technology which considers your personal driving style and the conditions of use appli-
cable to your vehicle. For example, frequent short journeys involve different
conditions of use to long journeys. The maintenance intervals are
flexible.
Remember that, in spite of the above, the LongLife Service should be carried
out at most every 24 months, as engine oil ages irrespective of the vehicle
conditions of use.
Details of the service work and additional work required can be found on
page ⇒page 10 onwards.
Please observe inspection intervals and ensure your vehicle is serviced as
required. Please note that failure to observe the inspection intervals may
lead to damage to your vehicle.
Is my vehicle eligible for the LongLife Service? All the vehicles which are designed for Extended Service Intervals leave the
factory with the correct engine oil. Depending upon the country where the
vehicle is to be used, the LongLife Service or the inspection service is
selected. On delivery of the vehicle, the corresponding service is marked on
the delivery inspection sheet.
Renewal of the LongLife Service
On completion of the relevant Service, the authorised SEAT Service Centre
resets the next service and marks the corresponding box on the service
sheet.
