Information regarding individual tracks (such as the artist or album, etc) can
be taken from a previously saved ID3 tag.
This is only possible if the desired information has already been saved to the
ID3 tag, otherwise no information will be available.
If you insert a MP3 storage medium and do not play it immediately, the ID3
tags will load in the background. If you start playing the MP3 storage medium
immediately, the ID3 tag for the current track will be displayed.
If no ID3 tags are available or cannot be read, no track information will
appear.
File
No track information will be displayed.

Phone numbers can be stored in different categories in the mobile phone
directory. These categories are displayed as follows:
P Private phone number
W Work phone number

Scroll the left thumbwheel downwards to scroll down the list of stored names
from
A to Z . Scroll the left thumbwheel upwards to scroll up the list of stored
names from Z to A. If you "flick" the left thumbwheel you can jump to the next
letter of the alphabet.

The information shown on the instrument panel display depends on the type
of mobile phone used.
Phone settingsOpening and closing the phone setup menu– While in any telephone menu, press the function button to access the main Telephone setup menu.

The on-board phone memory has no SIM card
entries or mobile phone directory entries.

102If you are approaching a turn-off, an arrow will indicate the direction of the
turn-off. The name of the street onto which you must turn-off will also appear
under the arrow. The bar graph (countdown) ⇒page 101, fig. 119 on the
right in the display corresponds to the distance up to the turn-off.
If a change of lanes (e.g. on the motorway) is necessary before the turn-off,
you will be informed accordingly beforehand ⇒page 99, fig. 116 . Route guidance on the instrument panel display remains visible during navi-
gation even when you have selected other functions (e.g. radio).
Note
To switch from the route guidance display to the on-board computer* display,
press the Reset* button for the on-board computer. Press the Reset* button
repeatedly to return to the route guidance screen. For detailed information
regarding the on-board computer*, please refer to your Owner's Manual.Switching on the navigation system

A turn-off arrow ahead of these names indicates the road
onto which you should turn-off.Total miles to destination or stopover.Directional arrowBar graph (countdown): the bars decrease in size to indi-
cate how the distance to the immediate turn-off point is
decreasing. The bar graph is not shown until a change of
direction arrow is displayed.If there is another side street before the turn-off point that
is not part of current guidance, this side street is repre-
sented by a side-street symbol on the instrument panel dis-
play. The side-street symbol will disappear as soon as there
are no more before the turn-off point.

while the vehicle is stationary. In this way you can be sure that you will not
be unnecessarily distracted from the traffic when reading the messages on
the display. Please note ⇒page 6, “Notes on road safety”.Selecting system setup functionIn addition to the main setup menus for the individual main func-
tions, the Settings , Sound and Display submenus are available for
adjusting system settings. These setup submenus are the same for
all of the main functions. – Press the button
⇒page 9 in addition to any other main
function button that is already activated. The Setup main menu
corresponding to that function (e.g. Radio) will appear in the
display ⇒fig. 193 .
– While in the Setup main menu, press any one of the control buttons ⇒page 9 to call up the corresponding submenu (e.g.
radio to ⇒fig. 193 ).
The setup menu operates in conjunction with a function button already
pressed ⇒page 9 and opens additional menu items for the main Radio, CD,
MP3 and Navigation functions. By pressing the control buttons, the Setup

submenus are always the same, regardless of the setup menu of the main
function you are in.
