Turning the contact key
Ifwith the audio system on the contact keyisremoved the setwill
disconnect automatically.
If the keyisintroduced again and turned in the contact, the audio
system isconnected automatically

Operation for limited time periods (1 hour)
With the car audio set off and the contact keyremoved pressmain
controlA.
In thisway, the setwill run for 1 hour and willswitch itself off
automaticallyafter thistime. Ifyou turn the keyin the contact
during thishour period will disconnect the function (limited time
function).
To switch off the set before the hour has elapsed press the main
cont
rolAagain.
You can switch on the set anytime you wish.
With the car audio set on and the keyin the lock butwithout the
contact on the setwill remain on for 2 hoursand willswitch itself
off automaticallyafter thisperiod of time.

Mobile phone or radio-telephone function
The car audio set can be connected to a mobile phone or a radio-
telephone.While these accessories are in operation the volume isreduced to
the PROG-System set volume. In this operation mode you can set
the tone, fader, and balance values. Changed values ar
e stored in
memory. See chapter "PROG-System" (car audio muting). The
screen will display "PHONE".
Muting
Volume isreduced while these accessories are in operation. The
screen will display "PHONE".

Several setting possibilities
To help handling the car audio includes the PROG system. Itallows
you to carryout settingswhich are onlyrequired once or
incidentally.

Confirming functions
Thiscar audio is factory set so thatwhen you activate certain keys
a brief confirmation signalisheard.
In the "PROG-System" chapter you willfind outhow to getrid off
thiswarning signalwith the "BEEP" function (Beep off).
Now, instead of a warning signal,
when you press the keys the loud
speakerswill mute.

Tuning settings memory
The pre-tune 1 ... 5 keys allow you to register tune settings aswell
as sound distribution to left/right.
When you select the keyused to register a sound setting, playback
willtake place according to the valuesregistered.
Setting and storing in memory
Carryout the bass, treble and balance settings asdesc
ribed
previously. While carrying outone of these settings, hold the pre-
tune key pressed down (for instance: 1) where you wish to register
the settingsuntilyou hear the confirmation signal.
"SOUND" willbe displayed on the screen.

FM stations Automatic Search tuning
Select the FM1 or FM2 band. The screen will display for instance:
"FM 87.50".
To startautomaticsearch, press either or keys.
Search willstop at the next station.
Automaticsearch of FM bands operates at two sensitivitylevels. If
during its first search on the tuning band for powe
rfulfield stations
(localstations) no station isfound, the setwillcarryout a second
search for less powerfulfield stations.Manual frequency tuning
1. Select the FM1 or FM2 band
2. Hold the or keydown untilyou hear the signaland the
"MAN" indication and
the currentfrequency are displayed on
the screen.
3.Tune into the frequency of your choice by pressing the or
keys.
Ifyou press these keys briefly the tuning moves step by step
(50 KHz steps) and ifyou hold them pressed down the
frequencies change fast.
Alternative Frequency selection (AF)
RDS FM radio stationscan
transmit their signalatdifferent
frequencies. Your radio automatically chooses the strongest signal
for the selected station. Ifyou are driving through an area with bad
coverage, each automaticre-tune will resul
tin shortbreaksin the
audio. In order to avoid this, turn the AFfunction off.
Turning AF function on/off
Keep the DX/MAN key pressed untilthe confirmation signal
sounds. The AFfunction willbe alternativelyenabled or disabled.
The AFfuncti
on statusisalso stored in the memorywhen a radio
station isstored and willbe enabled again when a preset station is
selected.
