Distribute the load evenly over the roof rack system.

When transporting heavy objects or objects which take up a large area on
the roof rack system, handling of the car may change as a result of the dis-
placement of the centre of gravity. The style of driving and speed must
therefore be adapted to circumstances.
■
Avoid abrupt and sudden driving/braking manoeuvres.
■
The permissible roof load, permissible axle loads and gross permissible
weight of the vehicle must not be exceeded under any circumstances – risk
of accident.
CAUTION
■ Ensure that the boot lid does not hit the roof load when opened.■The height of the vehicle changes after mounting a roof luggage rack system
including the load that is being transported. Compare the vehicle height with
available clearances, such as underpasses and garage doors.■
Ensure the roof aerial is not impaired by the load being transported.

We recommend that you use a roof rack from ŠKODA Original Accessories.

Do not exceed the permissible roof load of 75 kg, this includes the carrier sys-
tem.
The full permissible roof load cannot be used if a roof rack system with a lower
load carrying capacity is used. The maximum capacity of the carrier system
should never be exceeded.

WARNINGInstructions for filling the reserve canister■Never fill the reserve can inside the vehicle.■
Never place the reserve can on the vehicle.

Always place the reserve can on the floor.
■
We do not recommend carrying any fuel canisters in your vehicle for safe-
ty reasons. In the event of an accident this could be damaged and fuel
could escape – there is a risk of fire.
CAUTION
■ The fuel tank is full just as soon as the pump nozzle switches off for the first
time, provided the nozzle has been operated properly. Do not continue refuel-
ling.■
Be careful when filling diesel fuel from the spare canister and then do this
slowly and cautiously – danger of contaminating the body.
Note
The fuel tank has a capacity of about 45 litres, including a reserve of approx.
7 litres .
Lead-free petrol
The correct fuel grades for your vehicle are specified on the inside of the fuel
filler flap.

The vehicle can only be operated with unleaded petrol in compliance with the
EN 228 1)
standard.
All petrol engines can be operated using petrol with a maximum of 10% bioe-
thanol (E10).
Unleaded petrol 95/91 or 92 or 93 RON/ROZ
We recommend using unleaded fuel with an octane rating of 95 RON. Unlea-
ded petrol with the octane ratings 91, 92 or 93 RON can also be used, but may
result in a slight loss in performance and slightly increased fuel consumption.
Unleaded petrol min. 95 RON / ROZ
Use unleaded fuel with an octane rating of 95 RON or higher.
In an emergency , petrol with the octane ratings 91, 92 and/or 93 RON can also
be used, but may result in a slight loss in performance and slightly increased
fuel consumption and exhaust emissions. Continue driving at medium engine
speeds and minimum engine load »

Refuel using petrol of the prescribed octane number as soon as possible.
Fuel additives
Unleaded petrol complying with EN 228 1)
meets all the conditions for a
smooth-running engine. We therefore recommend that no fuel additives are
used. This can result in considerable damage to parts of the engine or the ex-
haust system.
CAUTION
■ Even one filling of the tank with petrol that does not meet the standards can
lead to serious damage to parts of the exhaust system!■
If a fuel other than unleaded fuel which complies to the above mentioned
standards (e.g. leaded petrol) is put in the tank by mistake, do not start the en-
gine or switch on the ignition. Extensive damage to engine parts can occur.
CAUTION
■ If petrol with a lower octane number than the one prescribed is used do not
drive with a high engine speed. A high engine load can severely damage en-
gine components.■
Even in the event of an emergency, petrol of a lower octane number than 91
RON must not be used, otherwise the engine can be severely damaged.
CAUTION
In no case may fuel additives with metal components be used, especially not
with manganese and iron content. Risk of causing considerable damage to
parts of the engine or exhaust system.
CAUTION
Do not use fuels with metal components, such as LRP (lead replacement
petrol) may be used. Risk of causing considerable damage to parts of the en-
gine or exhaust system. 1)
In Germany also DIN 51626-1 or E10 for unleaded petrol with octane rating 95 or 91 or DIN 51626-2 or E5
for unleaded petrol with octane rating 95.

WARNING■When you charge a battery, hydrogen is released, and a highly explosive
gas mixture is also produced. An explosion can be caused through sparkling
over during unclamping or loosening of the cable plug while the ignition is
on.■
Creating a bridge between the poles on the battery (e.g. with metal ob-
jects - cables) creates a short circuit - risk of damage to the battery, explo-
sion and burning of the battery, jets of acid spurting out.
■
Avoid creating sparks when working with cables and electrical devices.
Strong sparking represents a risk of injury.
■
Before carrying out any work on the electrical system, switch off the en-
gine, the ignition and all electrical consumers and disconnect the negative
terminal
.
■
“Quick-charging” the vehicle battery is dangerous and requires a special
charger and specialist knowledge.
■
We therefore recommend that vehicle batteries be “rapidly charged” by a
specialist garage.
CAUTION
On vehicles with the START/STOP system or additional heating (auxiliary heat-
ing), the pole terminal of the charger must not be connected directly to the
negative terminal of the vehicle battery, but only to the engine earth
» page 174 .

The new vehicle battery must have the same capacity, voltage, current and thesame size as the original battery. Suitable vehicle battery types can be pur-
chased from a specialist garage.
We recommend you have the battery replaced by a specialist garage.

CAUTION
■ Disconnect the vehicle battery only with the ignition turned off - there is a
risk of damaging the electrical system of the vehicle.■
Under no circumstances must the battery cables be connected incorrectly –
risk of a cable fire.
Note
■ After disconnecting and re-connecting the vehicle battery, we recommend
having the vehicle checked by a specialist to ensure that the full functionality
of all electrical systems is guaranteed.■
The data of the multi-function display will be reset.
Automatic load deactivation

The vehicle voltage system automatically prevents the battery from discharg-ing when the battery is put under high levels of strain. This may be noticed
from the following.
▶ The idling speed is raised to allow the generator to deliver more electricity to
the electrical system.
▶ Where appropriate large convenience consumers, e.g. seat heaters, rear win-
dow heaters, have their power limited or shut off completely if necessary.
CAUTION
■ Despite such intervention by the vehicle electric system management, the
vehicle battery may be drained. For example, when the ignition is switched on
a long time with the engine turned off or the side or parking lights are turned
on during longer parking.■
Consumers which are supplied via a 12 V socket can cause the vehicle battery
to discharge when the ignition is switched off.

Only fit radial tyres of the same type, size (rolling circumference) and the same
tread pattern on one axle on all four wheels.
When mounting new tyres the tyres have to be replaced axle by axle.
Explanation of tyre markings

Do not use alloys rims with smoothed or polished surface during the winter
time. The rim surface does not have sufficient corrosion protection and could
be permanently damaged (e.g. through grit).
Winter tyres
The handling of your vehicle will be significantly improved when driving on
wintry roads if you fit winter tyres (labelled M+S).
To get best possible handling, winter tyres must be used on all four wheels.
The minimum tread depth should be 4 mm.
Re-fit the summer tyres at an appropriate time as they provide better handling
properties, a shorter braking distance, less tyre noise, and reduced tyre wear
on roads which are free of snow and ice as well as at temperatures above 7 °C.
Speed symbol
Winter tyres (marked with M+S and a peak/snowflake symbol
) of a lower
speed category can be used provided that the permissible maximum speed of
these tyres is not exceeded even if the possible maximum speed of the vehicle
is higher.
On vehicles with the infotainment system with key the speed limit can be
set for winter tyres » Owner´s Manual Infotainment , chapter CAR - Adjust ve-
hicle systems .
For other vehicles, there is the possibility to have the speed limit set for winter
tyres in a specialist workshop.

Vehicle identification number (VIN)
The vehicle identification number - VIN (vehicle body number) is stamped on
the right hand suspension strut dome in the engine compartment. This num-
ber is also located on a sign on the lower left hand edge below the windscreen
(together with a VIN bar code), together with a nameplate.
The VIN number can also be displayed in the Infotainment » Owner´s Manual
Infotainment , chapter CAR - vehicle settings .
Engine number
The engine number (three-digit code letter and serial number) is stamped onto
the engine block.
Supplementary Information (applies to Russia)
The full type approval number of the means of transport is indicated in the
registration documents, field 17.
Maximum permissible trailer weight
The listed maximum permissible trailer weight is only valid for altitudes up to
1000 m above sea level.
The engine output falls as altitude increases, as does the ability to climb.
Therefore, for every additional 1,000 m in height (or part), the maximum per-
missible towed weight must be reduced by 10 %.
The towed weight comprises the actual weights of the (loaded) towing vehicle
and the (loaded) trailer.WARNINGDo not exceed the specified maximum permissible weights – risk of an acci-
dent and damage.
Operating weight
The value represents the minimum operating weight without additional
weight-increasing equipment, such as the air conditioning system, spare
wheel, or trailer hitch.
The specified operating weight is for orientation purposes only.
The operating weight also contains the weight of the driver (75 kg), the weight
of the operating fluids, the tool kit, and a fuel tank filled to 90 % capacity.

Payload
It is possible to calculate the approximate loading capacity from the difference
between the permissible total weight and the operating weight.
The payload consists of the following weights.
▶ The weight of the passengers.
▶ The weight of all items of luggage and other loads.
▶ The weight of the roof, including the roof rack system.
▶ The weight of the equipment that is excluded from the operating weight.
▶ Trailer drawbar load when towing a trailer (max. 50 kg).

The data on fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions were not available at the
time of going to press.
The data on fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions are given on the ŠKODA
websites or in the sales and technical vehicle documentation.
The measurement of the intra-urban cycle begins with a cold start of the en-
gine. Urban driving is then simulated.
In the extra-urban driving cycle, the vehicle is accelerated and decelerated in
all gears, corresponding to daily routine driving conditions. The driving speed
varies between 0 and 120 km/h.
The calculation of the combined fuel consumption considers a weighting of
about 37 % for the intra-urban cycle and 63 % for the extra-urban cycle.

■ The fuel consumption and emission levels given on the Škoda websites or in
the commercial and technical vehicle documentation have been established in
accordance with rules and under conditions that are set out by legal or techni-
cal rules for the determination of operational and technical data of motor vehi-
cles.■
Depending on the extent of the equipment, the driving style, traffic condi-
tions, weather influences and vehicle condition, consumption values can in
practice result in fuel economy figures in the use of the vehicle that differ from
the fuel consumption values listed on the ŠKODA websites or in the commer-
cial and technical vehicle documentation.
