Fog lights 
The warning light  comes on when the fog lights are operating
⇒ page 57.

The warning light  comes on when the rear fog lights are operating

EPC fault light  (petrol engine)
The  (Electronic Power Control) warning light comes on for a few
seconds when the ignition is switched on.
There is a system fault in the engine control system if the warning light

does not go out or comes on or flashes while driving. The engine manage-
ment system selects an emergency programme which enables you to
drive to the nearest specialist garage by adopting a gentle style of driving.
The following text will be displayed in the information display*:

Diesel particle filter (diesel engine)
In the diesel particle filter the resulting soot particles are
collected and burnt during the combustion of diesel fuel.
Code 7GG on the vehicle data sticker ⇒fig. 17 indicates that
your vehicle is equipped with a diesel particle filter. The vehicle
data sticker ⇒page 269, fig. 211 is located on the floor of the
luggage compartment and is also stated in the Service schedule.
The soot particles, which result from the combustion of diesel fuel, are
collected in the diesel particle filter . If the filter is full, the engine control
unit gives the injection system a command for an additional injection of
fuel with additive into the cylinders so that an automatic cleaning of the
filter is carried out during suitable operating conditions. The additive is
located in a special reservoir under the spare wheel. A higher temperature
in the entire diesel particle filter is achieved as a result of this and thus self-
ignition and following combustion of soot particles occurs. The regenera-

•The switching on of the described lights should only be undertaken in
accordance with the legal requirements.
•In the event of cool or humid weather conditions, the headlights can be
misted up from inside.
−The temperature difference between interior and external area of
the headlight lenses is decisive.
− When the driving lights are switched on, the light outlet surfaces are
free from mist after a short period. The headlight lenses can possibly
mist up at the border areas.
− It also concerns reverse light and turn signal lights.
− This mist has no influence on the life of the lighting system.

Only the rear fog light of the trailer lights up automatically when you are
towing a trailer using a factory-fitted towing device which is fitted with
the rear fog light .
Caution
The rear fog light should only be switched on if visibility is particularly poor
(conform with any varying legal provisions) to avoid dazzling vehicles
behind your vehicle.

The power windows and the power seats are protected by automatic
circuit breakers which switch on again automatically after a few seconds
after the overload has been eliminated - e.g. frozen windows.
Bulbs
Changing bulbs
The relevant lamp must always be switched off before a light bulb is
replaced.
Do not take hold of the glass bulb with naked fingers (even the smallest
amount of dirt reduces the working life of the light bulb). Use a clean cloth,
serviette or something similar.
Defect light bulbs should only be replaced with light bulbs of the same
type. The designation is located on the light socket or the glass bulb.
Changing certain bulbs is not something which you can do yourself, but
requires to be done by a specialist. Other parts of the vehicle must be

bulbs which can only be reached from the engine compartment.
We therefore recommend that you have any bulbs changed by a Škoda
Service Partner or, in exceptional cases, by calling on other professional
assistance.

delivered in your vehicle. Replacement light bulbs

Fitted with a xenon headlight
Change of light bulbs on Xenon lights (low beam lights, parking lights and
main beam lights) should be undertaken by a specialist garage.
Overview of bulbs
WARNING
•Bulbs H7 and H3 are pressurised and may burst when changing
the bulb - risk of injury!
•It is recommended to wear gloves and eye protection when
changing a light bulb.
•Gas discharge bulbs* (xenon bulbs) operate with a high voltage,
professional knowledge is required - danger to life!
