Switching the unit on and off
›
The unit is switched on or off by briefly pressing the on/off knob

If the key is removed from the ignition while the unit is still switched on, it will
turn off automatically. The unit can be switched on again by pressing the on/off
knob
1
. If the ignition is switched off, the unit protects the vehicle battery by
switching itself off automatically after approx. one hour.
If you have switched the device off by removing the ignition key, the radio
switches back on when the ignition is turned on again.


Press the rocker switch  again to select the desired setting.

The following parameters are available:
› TRE
- Treble setting;
› BASS
- bass setting;
› BAL
- setting of the volume ratio between the left and the right side;
› FAD
- setting of the volume ratio between the front and the rear;

Setting special functions

Press the MENU rocker switch to select the Setup menu.

Select individual menu functions by pressing the MENU rocker switch or by
pressing the / or / rocker switches.
1213› Use the adjustment knob 1 to select the desired setting.
REG AUTO / REG OFF
Some stations support the broadcasting of regional programs with different con-
tent.
The unit attempts initially to set only alternative frequencies for the selected sta-
tion.
If the quality is however so low, that there is a risk of a “program loss”, the unit also accepts “related” frequencies.
When opting for REG AUTO , the change to a regionally- “related” station can only
be performed when there is a risk of losing the station. When selecting REG OFF,
the receiver can access the regionally- “related” stations to an unlimited extent.
GALA
Your device automatically adjusts the volume to the vehicle speed. A higher set-
ting value results in a stronger volume increase.
LOUD
In case of a lower volume level, the Loudness function boosts the range of bass
and treble frequencies.
BEEP
Switching on/off the tone signal when storing the radio stations.
ONVOL
Your device stores the last volume set before switching off. If this value is higher,
the volume is reduced to the value of the parameter ONVOL after switching on
the device again.
PHONE
If your vehicle is equipped with a hands-free system, the monophone play func-
tion of mobile phone calls can be switched on/off via the loudspeakers.
PDC AT
If your vehicle is equipped with a “parking aid”, the volume is automatically de- creased to a pre-defined value, when the “parking aid” is active.
› PDC AT0
- no volume restriction;
› PDC AT1
- restricts the volume to a middle level;
› PDC AT2
- limits the volume to a low level;
› PDC AT3
- Mute.

Radio
Using the system
Change frequency range
Your device is capable of receiving a radio reception in the FM and AM analogue frequency range.
To change the frequency range, press and hold the A/F
rocker switch.
There are two storage groups available for each of these frequency ranges, FM1/
FM2 and AM1/AM2. There are 6 memory slots available for each of these groups.

To change the storage group, briefly press the A/F rocker switch.

Searching for and storing radio stations
Manual search

Set the frequency of the desired radio station by pressing the rocker switch or
.
Automatic station search
›
The radio searches for the next radio station in the selected waveband by pressing the  or  rocker switch.
Function SCAN
›
The radio station of the current waveband is briefly played (10 seconds) by pressing the rocker switch SCAN.
›
This function is ended by pressing the rocker switch SCAN once again and the
current station is replayed.
Store station
›
By pressing and holding function button
13
, the currently selected station is
stored under the number of the key pressed. Hold the button down until the station briefly switches off and a short signal sounds.
Automatic station finding with storing the radio stations
›
Press the AS rocker switch. Automatic station finding is started during which
the 6 stations with the strongest signal in the memory level FM2 and/or AM2 are stored. STORE will be shown in the display. This applies only to the wave-
bands FM2 and AM2.
When the process of storing the radio stations on the selection buttons 13 is
complete, you can press any selection button 13 to call up the desired radio sta-
tion.
Note
The stored radio stations of the current waveband are updated and stored once
again by repetitively pressing the rocker switch AS.

RDS Function
Certain radio stations transmit additional text information - designated as radio
text.
Note
■ The text information must not be available to all radio stations.■Depending on the quality of the signal, the device may need some time in order
to load all the displayed characters.

Traffic news function
Switching on/off
›
Press the TP switch.
The traffic service is deactivated by pressing the TP
switch again. The displayed
 icon goes out.
Activating/deactivating traffic reports Functional readiness of the traffic news service is indicated via the 
icon.
During playback in Media mode, the last selected radio station that supports traf-
fic news will continue to be received in the background. If a traffic news station
has not been set recently, the most appropriate traffic news station is set auto-
matically in the background. While searching for an appropriate station, TP SEEK
is displayed on the screen.
If the set radio station does not broadcast traffic news, 

is displayed on the
screen.
An incoming traffic report automatically interrupts playback or listening to a radio station that is not currently transmitting traffic news. INFO and station name is
displayed on the screen. Once the traffic news have ended, the device automati-
cally returns to the original playback mode. 
