lWhen the vehicle is stopped with the engine running, always apply the parking brake for safety.
1. When the ignition switch is in the “ACC” or “ON”
position, the initial screen will be displayed and the
system will begin operating.

REAR VIEW CAMERA
A rear view camera is attached to the trunk lid or rear gate.
When the ignition switch is “ON” and the shift lever (MT
models) or select lever (CVT models) is set to “R”, the rear
view camera automatically displays the rear view image
behind the vehicle on one of the following displays.
WARNING
lSince the rear view camera uses a wide-angle lens, the image on the monitor is different from the actual view in terms of distance.
lSince the range of the image on the monitor is limited, you should always check the rear view and the surrounding area with your eyes and mirrors, and move backward at a slow speed. Moving backward only by checking the rear view image from the camera could cause an accident.
lDo not disassemble or modify the camera, switch or wiring. If smoke comes out or you smell a strange odor, stop using the rear view camera immediately. Contact your SUBARU dealer f o r a n i n s p e c t i o n . C o n t i n u e d u s e m a y r e s u l t i n a c c i d e n t ,

NOTE
lIf you shift to the “R” range shortly after turning on the ignition switch, the warning message “Check Surroundings Before Backing Up” may not be displayed. Wait for several seconds or more after turning on the ignition switch before shifting to the “R” range. Then the warning message will be displayed.
DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SCREEN IMAGE AND
ACTUAL ROAD
The distance markers show the distance for a level road
when the vehicle is not loaded. It may be different from the
actual distance depending on the loading conditions or road
conditions.

Select to reset all setup items.The audio system restarts automatically after resetting factory data. To complete the reset process, turn the ignition switch to the “LOCK”/“OFF” position after the audio system has restarted, and then turn to the “ACC” or “ON” position after approximately 3 minutes.

BASIC OPERATION
SOME BASICS
This section describes some of the basic features of the
audio system. Some information may not pertain to your
system.
Your audio system works when the ignition switch is turned
to the “ACC” or “ON” position.
CAUTION
lTo prevent the battery from being discharged, do not leave the audio system on longer than necessary when the engine is not running.
NOTE
lThe audio system upgrade accessory (dealer option) only works when the ignition switch is in the “ACC” or “ON” position. No a u d i o i s o u t p u t f r o m t h e a m p l i
