6. Set the b ulb soc ket into the rear c omb ination lig
ht assemb ly and
turn it c loc kwise until it loc ks.
7. Close the c over and latc h the c loc k. Station wagon

have the b ulb s rep lac ed b y your SUBARU d ealer.

1. Remove the lig ht b ulb rep lac ement servic e hole c overs at two
p lac es b y p rying the ed g e of the c over with a reg ul ar sc rewd river.
2. Remove the up p er and lower nuts. Then, slid e the rear c omb ina-
tion lamp assemb ly to the rear and remove it from t he vehic le.

d lower sc rews
that sec ure the sid e c over of the rear c omb ination lig ht assemb ly.
4. Remove the b ulb soc ket from the rear c omb ination lig ht assemb ly
b y turning it c ounterc loc kwise.

5. Remove the b ulb from the soc ket.
Turn signal light: Pull the b ulb out of the soc ket.
Brake/tail light: Remove the b ulb from the soc ket b y p ushing it and
turning it c ounterc loc kwise.
6. Install a new b ulb in the soc ket.
7. Set the b ulb hold er into the rear c omb ination lig ht assemb ly and
turn it c loc kwise until it loc ks.
8. Fit the rear c omb ination lig ht assemb ly into the vehic le b od y and
tig hten the nuts from the interior of the vehic le.
9. Reinstall the lig ht b ulb rep lac ement servic e hole c overs.

1. Unlatc h the rear c omb ination lig ht c over b y movin g the knob up -
ward . Op en the c over up .
2. Remove the b ulb soc ket from the rear c omb ination lig ht assemb ly
b y turning it c ounterc loc kwise.
3. Remove the b ulb from the soc ket b y p ushing it and turning c oun-
terc loc kwise. Install a new b ulb in the soc ket.
4. Set the b ulb hold er into the rear c omb ination lig ht assemb ly and
turn it c loc kwise until it loc ks.
5. Close the c over and latc h the loc k.

4. Reinstall the lens and c over.
5. Tig hten the mounting sc rews. Dome light, spot light, luggage compartment light
and door step light

d river.
2. Pull the b ulb out of the soc ket. Install a new b u lb .
3. Reinstall the lens.

Dome/Rear map reading lights (if equipped)
CAUTION
While sitting in the vehicle, be sure to touch the metal frame of
the vehicle to allow all static electricity to be discharged prior to replacing bulbs. Always use recommended replacement bulbs.

1. Remove the d ome lig ht lens as follows:
Insert a small flat-tip p ed sc rewd river into the c en ter slot in the front ed g e
of the lens and lever the lens d ownward in suc h a w ay that it may b e
b owed and d iseng ag ed from the mounting tab s.
2. To rep lac e the d ome lig ht b ulb (c enter b ulb ): rem ove the d ome lig ht
b y p ulling it out of its retainer c lip s, then inser t a new b ulb into the retain-
er c lip s.
3. To rep lac e the map lig ht b ulb s: use a Phillip s he ad sc rewd river to re-
move the two mounting sc rews loc ated on either sid e of the lamp assem-
b ly. Pull the assemb ly d ownward out of the head line r. At this time, use
c are not to touc h the c irc uit b oard .
4. Remove the nec essary b ulb soc ket from the c irc uit b oard b y g rasp ing
it on the b ac ksid e of the lamp assemb ly and twistin g c ounterc loc kwise to
d iseng ag e.
5. Pull the b ulb out of the soc ket. Install a new b u lb b y p ushing it into the
soc ket.

11-586. Reinstall the soc ket in the c irc uit b oard . Then,
fit the lamp assemb ly
b ac k into the head liner.
7. Reinstall the lens in the reverse ord er of remova l.
