Initial screen
UN001
When you start the engine or turn the
ignition switch to “ACC”, the initial
“TOYOTA” screen appears and the
system begins operating.
CAUTION
When the vehicle is stopped with
the engine running, always apply
the parking brake for safety.
After a few seconds, the “CAUTION”
screen appears.

Touch either “English” or “French” to
select a language. Read and follow
the instructions.

You can adjust the angle of the dis-
play by pushing the
“TILT” button.
Each push of the
“TILT” button will
tilt the display to position 1, 2, 3 and
then back to 0 in that order.
If you turn the ignition switch off, the dis-
play will automatically move back to position
0. The display will automatically resume the
previous position you used when the ignition
switch is turned to the “ACC” or “ON” posi-
tion.
CAUTION
Take care not to jam your hand
while the display is moving. Other-
wise, you could be injured.
NOTICE
Do not obstruct th e display while it
is moving. It could damage your nav-
igation system.
The navigation system is operated by
switches on the screen and the but-
tons located on the front face around
the screen. When you touch a switch
or push a button, a beep sounds.
When using the switches on the touch
screen, please use only light pressure
with your finger to protect the screen
from damage. Do not use objects other
than your finger to touch the screen.

To type in an address etc., directly touch
alphabet keys on the screen. If you touch
a wrong letter, dele te it using the
switch. Touching the switch erases
one letter.

You can adjust the angle of the dis-
play by pushing the “TILT” button.
Each push of the “TILT” button will tilt
the display to position 1, 2, 3 and then
back to 0 in that order.
If you turn the ignition switch off, the

position 0. The display will automatically
resume the previous position you used when
the ignition switch is turned to the “ACC”
or “ON” position.
The slots for the cassette tape player
and compact disc player are behind
the display.
To lower the display, push the “OPEN”
button. After you inserting the cassette
tape or compact disc, push the button
again to close the display.
CAUTION
Do not place anything on the
opened display, as such items may
be thrown about in the compart-
ment and possibly injure people in
the vehicle during sudden braking
or in an accident.
To reduce the chance of injury in
case of an accident or sudden
stop while driving, keep the dis-
play closed.
Take care not to jam your hand
while the display is moving. Other-
wise, you could be injured.
NOTICE

The DVD player can play audio CDs,
DVD video discs and video CDs.
For appropriate discs for this player, see
“Car audio/video system operating hints”
on page 175.
For safety reasons, you can enjoy DVD
video discs and video CDs only when the
vehicle is completely stopped with the
ignition switch in the “ACC” or “ON” posi-
tion and the parking brake applied. While
you are driving, you can hear audio alone
even in the DVD video or video CD
mode.

1. Playing a DVD video disc
Touch the number of the disc you
want to play. The selected disc is au-
tomatically played.
When you touch the “PICTURE” switch,
the video screen appears.
For safety reasons, you can enjoy DVD
video discs only when the vehicle is com-
pletely stopped with the ignition switch in
the “ACC” or “ON” position and the park-
ing brake applied. While you are driving,
you can hear audio alone even in the
DVD video mode.

2. Displaying op eration switches
If you touch a part of the screen where
switches are not located while you are
watching video, DVD video operation
switches will appear. “Second Page” switch:
Use this switch
to display the operation switches on the
second page.
“Top Page” switch: Use this switch to
display the operation switches on the top
page. “Hide Keys” switch:
Use this switch to
turn off the operation switches from the
display.
If “
” appears on the display when you
touch a switch, the operation relevant to
the switch is not permitted.
