■Retained accessory power
Memorized positions can be activated up to 180 seconds after the driver’s
door is opened and another 60 seconds after it is closed again, even if the
power switch is off.
■ If any position memory button is pushed while the adjustments are
being made
The operation will stop. To reactivate the system, push the desired button (“1”
or “2”) again.
CAUTION
■ Seat adjustment caution
Take care during seat adjustment so that the seat does not strike the rear
passenger or squeeze your body against the steering wheel.

Adjust to the ideal position by
moving the steering wheel hori-
zontally and vertically.
After adjustment, pull the lever up

CAUTION
■Caution while driving
Do not adjust the steering wheel while driving.
Doing so may cause the driver to mishandle the vehicle and cause an acci-
dent, resulting in death or serious injury.
■ After adjusting the steering wheel
Make sure that the steering wheel is securely locked.
Otherwise, the steering wheel may move suddenly, possibly causing an
accident, and resulting in death or serious injury.

■Mirror angle can be adjusted when
The power switch is in ACCESSORY or ON mode.
■ Linked mirror function when reversi ng (vehicles with driving position
memory)
● When the mirror select switch is either in the “L” or “R” position, the outside
rear view mirrors will automatically angle down when the vehicle is in
reverse to give a better view of the ground. To disable this function, set the
mirror select switch between the “L” and “R” positions.
● If the mirror angle is adjusted while the vehicle is in reverse, the position of
the mirror will be remembered based on the mirror position when the vehicle
is not in reverse.
However, since the mirror movement is based on the angle they are set
when the linked mirror function is not operating, the mirror angle when the
function is operating will also be changed if the mirrors are adjusted while
the function is not operating.
■ When the mirrors are fogged up
The outside rear view mirrors can be cleared using the mirror defoggers. Turn
on the rear window defogger to turn on the outside rear view mirror defog-
gers. ( P. 279)
■ Automatic adjustment of the mirror angle (vehicles with driving position
memory)
A desired mirror face angle can be entered to memory and recalled automa\
ti-
cally by the driving position memory. (P. 144)
■ Auto anti-glare function (vehicles with outer foot lights)
When the anti-glare inside rear view mirr or is set to automatic mode, the out-
side rear view mirrors will activate in conjunction with the anti-glare inside
rear view mirror to reduce reflected light. ( P. 152)

If the tire pressure warning light frequently comes on after blinking
for 1 minute
If the tire pressure warning light frequently comes on after blinking for 1
minute when the power switch is turn
ed to ON mode, have it checked by
your Toyota dealer.
■ Warning buzzer
In some cases, the buzzer may not be heard because of noisy place or an
audio sound.
CAUTION
■If both the ABS and the brake system warning lights remain on
Stop your vehicle in a safe place immediately and contact your Toyota
dealer. The vehicle will become extrem ely unstable during braking, and the
ABS system may fail, which could cause an accident resulting in death or
serious injury.
■ Electric power steering warning light (warning buzzer)
When the 12-volt battery charge becomes in sufficient or the voltage tempo-
rarily drops, the electric power steering warning light may come on and the
warning buzzer may sound.
■ When the electric power steerin g system warning light comes on
The steering wheel may become extremely heavy.
If the steering wheel becomes heavie r than usual when operating, hold
firmly and operate using more force than usual.
■
If the tire pressure warning light comes on
Be sure to observe the following precautions. Failure to do so could
cause a loss of vehicle control and result in death or serious injury.
●Stop your vehicle in a safe place as soon as possible. Adjust the tire
inflation pressure immediately.
●If the tire pressure warning light comes on even after tire inflation pres-
sure adjustment, it is probable that you have a flat tire. Check the tires.
If a tire is flat, change it with th e spare tire and have the flat tire
repaired by the nearest Toyota dealer.
●Avoid abrupt maneuvering and braking. If the vehicle tires deteriorate,
you could lose control of the steering wheel or the brakes.
■If a blowout or sudden air leakage should occur
The tire pressure warning system may not activate immediately.
