OVERHAUL
HINT:
The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning
the installation, it is indicated.
1. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSY LH AND RH
2. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSY CENTER
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY
(a) Pull up the 2 front portions of the seat cushion, then re-move it.
NOTICE:
In this case, hold the base of the clip up to prevent the cush-
ion frame from being distorted.
4. REMOVE BENCH TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER
(a) Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover. 5. REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSY LH
(a) Remove the bolt and the seatback.
6. REMOVE REAR SIDE SEATBACK ASSY RH
(a) Remove the bolt and the seatback. 7. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK BOARD CARPET ASSYLH
(a) Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.
8. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSY LH
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and seatback.

4. REMOVE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER
SWITCH ASSY
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and clip, and
remove the armrest base panel upper together with the
switch.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Disconnect the switch connector.
(c) Remove the 3 screws and switch from the armrest base panel upper.
5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR TRIM BOARD SUB±ASSY LH
(a) Disconnect the courtesy lamp connector.
(b) Remove the 3 cushion rubbers.
(c) Remove the 2 screws and bolt as indicated.
(d) Using a clip remover, disengage 9 clips.
(e) Remove the trim board upward.
HINT:
In order to prevent the door panel from being damaged, cover
the areas indicated by the arrow marks in the illustration with
protective tape.
(f) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the courtesy lamp.
6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS WEATHERSTRIP INNER LH
(a) Remove the weatherstrip inner upward in the direction in- dicated by the arrow mark in the illustration.
7. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE SUB±ASSY LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw A indicated.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
(b) Move the inside handle in the direction indicated the by arrow mark in the illustration.
(c) Disconnect the 2 cables from the inside handle.

REPLACEMENT
HINT:
The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning
the installation, it is indicated.
1.REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER LH (SEDAN MODELS) (See page 76±36)
(a) Remove the luggage compartment floor carpet.
(b) Remove the 2 rope hooks.
(c) Remove the rear floor finish plate.
(d) Remove the 2 luggage compartment trim hooks.
(e) Remove the luggage compartment trim inner.
2.REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (LIFTBACK MODELS) (See page 76±45)
(a) Remove the 2 rope hooks.
(b) Remove the rear floor finish plate.
(c) Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
(d) Remove the rear door scuff plate LH.
(e) Remove the deck trim side board.
3.REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSY LH (WAGON MODELS) (See page 76±54)
(a) Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH
(b) Remove the rear door scuff plate.
(c) Remove the tonneau cover.
(d) Remove the deck board.
(e) Remove the deck floor box rear.
(f) Remove the deck floor box LH.
(g) Remove the deck floor box front.
(h) Remove the rear floor finish plate.
(i) Remove the luggage compartment trim hook No. 2.
(j) Remove the deck trim side board.
4. REMOVE FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL ASSY
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove the nut and fuel lid lock control.
5. REMOVE FUEL FILLER OPENING LID LOCKRETAINER
(a) Remove the fuel filler opening lid lock retainer, as shown
in the illustration.

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 5 clips and 2 claws,and remove the scuff plate.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

Use the same procedures described for the RH side. 3. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 clips and 2 claws,and remove the scuff plate.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the RH side. 5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the clip and 2 claws, andremove the trim board.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH
HINT:
Use the same procedures described for the RH side.
