into past averages and averages attained since the engine switch was
last turned to IGNITION ON mode. Use the displayed average fuel
consumption as a reference.

■Updating the past record data
Update the average fuel consumption by selecting “Clip” to meas ure the cur-
rent fuel consumption again.
■ Resetting the data
The fuel consumption data can be deleted by selecting “Clear”.
■ Cruising range
Displays the estimated maximum distance that can be driven with the quan-
tity of fuel remaining.
This distance is computed based on your average fuel consumptio n.
As a result, the actual distance that can be driven may differ from that dis-
played.

Stop the vehicle.
Set the parking brake (P. 220, 221), and shift the shift lever to P.
Press the engine switch.
Driving-related data will be displayed on the multi-information display.
■Automatic engine shut off feature
●The vehicle is equipped with a feature that automatically shuts off the
engine when the shift lever is in P with the engine running for an extended
period.
● The engine will automatically shut off after approximately 1 hour if it has
been left running while the shift lever is in P.
● The timer for the automatic engine shut off feature will reset if the brake
pedal is depressed or if the shift lever is in a position other than P.
● After the vehicle is parked, if the door is locked with the door lock switch
(P. 145) from the inside or the mechanical key ( P. 530) from the outside,
the automatic engine shut off feature will be disabled. The tim er for the auto-
matic engine shut off feature will be re-enabled if the driver’ s door is
opened.

■Cruise control can be set when
●The shift lever is in D or range 4 or higher of S has been sele cted.
● Range 4 or higher of D has been selected by using the paddle sh ift switch.
(vehicles with paddle shift switches)
● Vehicle speed is above approximately 25 mph (40 km/h).
■ Accelerating after setting the vehicle speed
●The vehicle can be accelerated normally. After acceleration, th e set speed
resumes.
● Even without canceling the cruise control, the set speed can be increased
by first accelerating the vehicle to the desired speed and then pressing the
“- SET” switch to set the new speed.
■ Automatic cruise co ntrol cancelation
Cruise control will stop maintaining the vehicle speed in any o f the following
situations.
● Actual vehicle speed falls more than approximately 10 mph (16 k m/h) below
the preset vehicle speed.
At this time, the memorized set speed is not retained.
● Actual vehicle speed is below approximately 25 mph (40 km/h).
● VSC is activated.
● TRAC is activated for a period of time.
● When the VSC or TRAC system is turned off.
■ If the warning message for the cruise control is shown on the m ulti-
information display
Press the cruise control main switch once to deactivate the sys tem, and then
press the button again to reactivate the system.
If the cruise control speed cannot be set or if the cruise cont rol cancels imme-
diately after being activated, there may be a malfunction in th e cruise control
system. Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer.

Maintenance and care
■Repair and replacement
It is recommended that genuine Toyota parts be used for repairs to ensure
performance of each system. If non-Toyota parts are used in rep lacement or if
a repair shop other than a Toyota dealer performs repairs, conf irm the war-
ranty coverage.
■ Resetting the message indicating maintenance is required (on so me
models)
After the required maintenance is preformed according to the ma intenance
schedule, please reset the message.
To reset the message, perform the following procedure:
Select (4.2-inch display) or (7-inch display) on the multi-in formation
display using the meter control switches on the steering wheel.
( P. 100, 112)
4.2-inch display: Select “Vehicle Settings” and then press .
7-inch display: Select and then press and hold .
Select “Scheduled Maintenance” and then press .
Select “Yes” and then press .
A message will be displayed on the multi-information display wh en the
reset procedure has been completed.
■ Allow inspection and repairs to be performed by a Toyota dealer
●Toyota technicians are well-trained specialists and are kept up to date with
the latest service information. They are well informed about th e operations
of all systems on your vehicle.
● Keep a copy of the repair order. It proves that the maintenance that has
been performed is under warranty coverage. If any problem should arise
while your vehicle is under warranty, your Toyota dealer will p romptly take
care of it.

When trouble arises
■If “A New Key has been Registered Contact Your Dealer for Detai ls” is
displayed (if equipped)
This message will be displayed each time the driver’s door is opened when
the doors are unlocked from the outside for approximately one w eek after a
new electronic key has been registered.
If this message is displayed but you have not had a new electro nic key regis-
tered, ask your Toyota dealer to check if an unknown electronic key (other
than those in your possession) has been registered.
■ If “Headlight System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer” is displayed
The following systems may be malfunctioning. Have the vehicle inspected by
your Toyota dealer immediately.
● The LED headlight system
● Automatic High Beam (if equipped)
■ If a message that indicates the ma lfunction of front camera is displayed
(if equipped)
The following systems may be suspended until the problem shown in the
message is resolved. ( P. 248, 500)
● PCS (Pre-Collision System)
● LDA (Lane Departure Alert with steering control)
● Dynamic radar cruise control with full-speed range
● Dynamic radar cruise control
● Automatic High Beam
■ If “Maintenance Required Soon” is displayed (if equipped)
Indicates that all maintenance according to the driven distance on the mainte-
nance schedule
* should be performed soon.
Comes on approximately 4500 miles (7200 km) after the message has been
reset.
If necessary, perform maintenance. Please reset the message aft er the main-
tenance is performed. ( P. 423)

The engine oil level may be low. Check the level of the engine oil, and add
engine oil if necessary. This message may be displayed if the vehicle is
stopped on a slope. Move the vehicle to a level surface and che ck if the mes-
sage disappears.
