SMOG-CHECK TEST
Ifyour vehicle failsasmog-check test, 
you may make aclaim under theEmission
Performance Warranty.Todo so, take your
vehicle toan authorized Toyotadealership
and present acopy ofthe smog-check test
report. Also,takeyour maintenance
records incase theyareneeded. 
If your claim qualifies forcoverage, the 
dealership willrepair yourvehicle within
30 days (unless ashorter periodis
required bylaw). Ifyour claim isdenied,
Toyota willnotify youinwriting ofthe
reason withinthesame period. Ifwe fail
to do so, wewill repair yourvehicle free
of charge. Theonly exceptions allowedare
when yourequest oragree toadelay, or
when adelay iscaused byfactors beyond
the control ofToyota orthe dealership.

level (once amonth) andregularly
replace theengine oiland oilfilter (see
the Maintenance Logsection ofthis
booklet todetermine howoften you
should change yourvehicle’s oiland
filter). Failure todo socan cause oil
starvation andoroil gelling, whichcan
result insevere damage toyour vehicle
and require costlyrepairs thatarenot
covered bythe New Vehicle Limited
Warranty.
Maintenance Records
Maintainingyourvehicle according tothe
recommendations inthis booklet is
required toensure thatyour warranty
