Moving the front passenger’s seat
For easy access to the rear seat.
Lift up the seatback angle adjustment lever.
When the seatback is folded to the forward limit, the seat can slide
back and forth.
Slide the seat to the front-most position.
After rear passengers are in, lift up the seatback and return the seat
until it locks.
By raising the seatback, the seat locks at the upright position.

CAUTION
Seat adjustment
When sliding the seat rearward, make sure not to squash the legs of the
rear passengers.
Do not recline the seat more than necessary when the vehicle is in motion
to reduce the risk of sliding under the lap belt.
If the seat is too reclined, the lap belt may slide past the hips and apply
restraint forces directly to your abdomen or your neck may contact the
shoulder belt, increasing the risk of death or serious injury in the event of
an accident.
After adjusting the seat, make sure that the seat is locked in position.
When returning the seatback upright, be careful not to be hit by the seat-
back which will rebound with considerable spring force.
When operating the front seat from the rear seat, make sure that no pas-
senger is seated in the front seat.
After returning the seatback
Push and pull the seatback to confirm that it is securely locked.
When sitting down or getting up off the rear seat
When sitting down or getting up off the rear seat, make sure not to trip over
the seat rail grooves.
Caution while driving
Never operate the seat position adjustment lever and the seatback angle
adjustment lever while driving.
Do not place anything under the front seats.
The items may fly out and interrupt pedal operation in events such as sud-
den braking, and may cause an accident.

Rear seats
: If equipped
Folding down rear seatbacks
Stow the seat belt buckles.
Pull the lock release lever and
fold down the seatback until it
reaches the position where
the head restraints can be
removed.
Remove the head restraints.
Pull the head restraint up while
pushing the lock release but-
ton.

Fold down the seatbacks.
Stow the head restraints
between seatbacks and seat
cushion as shown.
Tumbling rear seat cushion
Pull the strap horizontally as
shown. The latch under the
seat cushion will release,
allowing the seat cushion to
be raised.
Disengage the snap and open
the strap.

CAUTION
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
When operating the rear seat
Do not operate the seat while driving.
Stop the vehicle on level ground, set the parking brake and shift the shift
lever to P (Multidrive) or 1 (manual transmission).
Be careful not to get your hands or feet pinched in the seat.
Do not allow anyone to sit on a folded seatback or in the luggage compart-
ment while driving.
Do not allow children to enter the luggage compartment.
After returning the rear seats to their original position
Make sure the seatbacks and bottom cushion are securely locked.
Check that the seat belts are not twisted or caught under the seats.
Caution while driving
Do not drive with the seat cushion raised.
Do not place anything that may roll, or is larger than the available space
under the seat.
Anchor the strap to the head
restraint.
When returning the rear seat,
put the strap back to the origi-
nal place.
