Hybrid warning message
A message is automatically displa yed when a malfunction occurs in
the hybrid system or an impr oper operation is attempted.
If a warning message is shown
on the touch screen, read the
message and follow the instruc-
tions.
■Resetting the consumption data
Touching or
will reset the “Average fuel consumption”.
■If a warning light comes on or a wa rning message is displayed, or the
12 volt battery is disconnected
The hybrid system may not start. In that case, try to start the system again. If
the “READY” light does not come on, contact your Toyota dealer.

A combination of exterior and interior alarms are used to prevent theft of the
vehicle and unforeseeable accidents resulting from erroneous operation.
Take appropriate measures according to which warning light comes on.

The following table describes circumstances and correction procedures
when only alarms are sounded.

Take the smart key
from the vehicle and
lock the vehicle again.
Interior alarm:
One beep The battery charge of the
smart key is low. Replace the battery of
the smart key.
Exterior alarm:
One beep

seconds) The lock button is pressed
when the hybrid system is
OFF and one of the doors
is half open.
Close all the doors
then lock the vehicle
again.

Front passenger occupant classification system
Your vehicle is equipped with a front passenger occupant classifica-
tion system. This system detects the conditions of the front passen-
ger seat and activates or deactivates the devices for front passenger.

There is a malfunction in the system
*1: The system judges a person of adult size as an adult. When a
smaller adult sits in the front passenger seat, the system may rec-
ognize him/her as a child depending on his/her physique and pos-
ture.
*2: In the event the front passenger does not wear a seat belt.
*3: When a large child who has outgrow n a child restraint system sits
in the front passenger seat, the system may recognize him/her as
an adult depending on his/her physique or posture.
*4: Never install a rear-facing child restraint system on the front pas- senger seat. A forward-facing ch ild restraint system should only
be installed on the front passenger seat when it is unavoidable.
