When driving
CAUTION
■To a v o i d i n a d v e r t e n t c ruise control activation
Switch the cruise control off using the “ON-OFF” button when not in use.
■Situations unsuitable for dynamic radar cruise control
Do not use dynamic radar cruise control in any of the following situations.
Doing so may result in inappropriate speed control and could cause an acci-
dent resulting in death or serious injury.
●In heavy traffic
●On roads with sharp bends
●On winding roads
●On slippery roads, such as those covered with rain, ice or snow
●On steep downhills, or where there are sudden changes between sharp up
and down gradients

●At entrances to expressways
●When weather conditions are bad enough that they may prevent the sen-
sors from functioning correctly (fog, snow, sandstorm, heavy rain, etc.)

CAUTION
■Handling the radar sensor
Observe the following to ensure the cruise control system can function effec-
tively.
Otherwise, the system may not function correctly and could result in an acci-
dent.
●Keep the sensor and grille cover clean at all times.
Clean the sensor and grille cover with a soft cloth so you do not mark or
damage them.
●Do not subject the sensor or surrounding area to a strong impact.
If the sensor moves even slightly off position, the system may become
inaccurate or malfunction. If the sensor or surrounding area is subject to a
strong impact, always have the area inspected and adjusted by your Toy-
ota dealer.
●Do not disassemble the sensor.
●Do not attach accessories or stickers to the sensor, grille cover or sur-
rounding area.
●Do not modify or paint the sensor and grille cover.
●Do not replace them with non-genuine parts.

Pre-collision system warning light
Indicates a malfunction in the pre-collision system
The warning light will operate as follows, even when the
system is not malfunctioning:
•The light will flash quickly when the system is operating.
(→P. 3 3 5 )
•The light will turn on when the pre-collision braking is
disabled. (→P. 3 3 6 )
•The light will turn on when the system cannot tempo-
rarily be used. (→P. 5 5 1 )
(Turns on)
Slip indicator light
Indicates a malfunction in:
•VSC;
•TRAC; or
• Hill-start assist control
Flashes when the above systems and/or ABS are oper-
ating. (→P. 3 2 9 )
Brake system warning light (yellow indicator)
Indicates a malfunction in:
•The regenerative braking system; or
•The electronically controlled brake system

Automatic headlight leveling system warning light
Indicates a malfunction in the automatic headlight level-
ing system

Cruise control indicator
Indicates a malfunction in the cruise control/dynamic
radar cruise control

Indicates a malfunction in the dynamic radar cruise con-
trol

Indicates a malfunction in the radar cruise control sys-
tem.
A buzzer also sounds.
Press the “ON-OFF” button once to deactivate the
system, and then press the button again to reacti-
vate the system.
Hybrid battery (traction battery) inspection or replace-
ment time.
Have the hybrid battery (traction battery) inspected
by your Toyota dealer immediately.
Hybrid system restarting will soon be disabled.
A buzzer also sounds.
If you continue to use the vehicle in this state, you
will soon become unable to restart the hybrid sys-
tem. Have the hybrid battery (traction battery)
inspected by your Toyota dealer immediately.
Indicates that restarting of the hybrid system is not
possible.
Contact your Toyota dealer immediately.

In the following cases, the warning message may not be displayed even if
vehicle-to-vehicle distance decreases:
●When your vehicle and the vehicle ahead are traveling at the same
speed or the vehicle ahead is traveling more quickly than your vehicle.
●When the vehicle ahead is traveling at very low speed.
●Immediately after cruise control speed is set.
●At the instant the accelerator pedal is depressed.
