Steering wheel audio switches
Some audio features can be controlled using the switches on the
steering wheel. For details, refer to the ““touch screen” Owner’s Man-
ual” or “Navigation System Owner’s Manual”.
Operation may differ and usage may not be possible with audio/navi-
gation systems that are not compatible with the steering switches in
this vehicle.
Certification (vehicles with “touch screen”)
Vehicles with a navigation system
Owners of models equipped with a navigation system should refer
to the “Navigation System Owner’s Manual”.

CAUTION
Chemicals in the 12-volt battery
The 12-volt battery contains poisonous and corrosive sulfuric acid and may
produce hydrogen gas which is flammable and explosive. To reduce the risk
of death or serious injury, take the following precautions while working on or
near the 12-volt battery:
Do not cause sparks by touching the 12-volt battery terminals with tools.
Do not smoke or light a match near the 12-volt battery.
Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothes.
Never inhale or swallow electrolyte.
Wear protective safety glasses when working near the 12-volt battery.
Keep children away from the 12-volt battery.
Where to safely charge the 12-volt battery
Always charge the 12-volt battery in an open area. Do not charge the 12-volt
battery in a garage or closed room where there is insufficient ventilation.
How to recharge the 12-volt battery
Only perform a slow charge
*. The 12-volt battery may explode if charged at
a quicker rate.
*: 4 A or less on vehicles without alarm and a navigation system.
5 A or less on vehicles with alarm or a navigation system.

CAUTION
When using the compact spare tire
Remember that the spare tire provided is specifically designed for use with
your vehicle. Do not use your spare tire on another vehicle.
Do not use more than one spare tire simultaneously.
Replace the spare tire with a standard tire as soon as possible.
Avoid sudden acceleration, deceleration and braking, as well as sharp cor-
nering.
When storing the compact spare tire
Be careful not to catch fingers or other body parts between the compact
spare tire and the body of the vehicle.
When the compact spare tire is attached
The vehicle speed may not be correctly detected, and the following systems
may not operate correctly:
ABS & Brake assist

TRC
