Maintenance and care
Positioning a floor jack
◆Front
Set a floor jack against the front suspension member.
◆Rear
When using a floor jack, follow the instructions in the manual
provided with the jack and pe rform the operation safely.
When raising your vehicle with a floor jack, position the jack cor-
rectly. Improper placement may damage your vehicle or cause
injury.

Replacing the tire
●Stop the vehicle in a safe place on a hard, flat surface.
● Set the parking brake.
● Shift the shift position to P.
● Stop the hybrid system.
When raising your vehicle with a jack, position the jack cor-
rectly.
Improper placement m ay damage your vehicle or cause injury.

WARNING
■Using the tire jack
Observe the following precautions.
Improper use of the tire jack may cause the vehicle to suddenly fall off
the jack, leading to death or serious injury.
●Only use the tire jack that comes with this vehicle for replacing a tire.
Do not use it on other vehicles, and do not use other tire jacks for
replacing tires on this vehicle.
●Do not raise the vehicle w hile someone is inside.
●Do not use the tire jack for any purpose other than replacing t ires or
installing and removing tire chains.
●Do not put any part of your body under the vehicle while it is supported
by the jack.
●Do not start the hybrid system or drive the vehicle while the v ehicle is
supported by the jack.
●When raising the vehicle, do not put an object on or under the jack.
●Do not raise the vehicle to a height greater than that required to
replace the tire.
●Use a jack stand if it is necessary to get under the vehicle.
●When lowering the vehicle, make sure that there is no-one near the
vehicle. If there are people nearby, warn them vocally before l owering.
■When removing the jack from the storage location
The jack may be hot due to heat from the charging equipment dur ing or
after charging. Please use gloves when handling the jack. If it is touched
with bare hands, it may result in burns.

Open the back door. (P. 2 8 5 )
Lift the deck under box cover
up and take out the tool bag.
Open the tool bag and then take out the jack handle and wheel n ut
wrench.
After using the tools, stow them by reversing the steps listed.

Pull the cover to disconnect the
tabs, and remove the cover.
Turn the portion to loosen
the jack, and slowly take out the
jack.
Be careful when handling the
jack, as it may become hot
depending on conditions.

If the portion can not be loos-
ened, turn it using the jack han-
dle.

Turn the tire jack portion by
hand until the center of the
recessed portion of the jack is
in contact with the center of the
jack point.
Assemble the jack handle and
the wheel nut wrench as shown
in the illustration.
Raise the vehicle until the tire is
slightly raised off the ground.
Remove all the wheel nuts and
the tire.
When resting the tire on the
ground, place the tire so that the
wheel design faces up to avoid
scratching the wheel surface.

Vehicles with the wheel orna-
ment: Reinstall the wheel orna-
ment.
Align the cutout of the wheel
ornament with the valve stem as
shown.
Stow the tire jack and all tools.

The mark indicating the jack point is
stamped on the underside of the vehi-
cle.
Fully insert the jack in the stowing posi-
tion, and turn the portion to secure
the jack.
