WARNING
⚫Failure to follow these precautions could cause the wheel nuts to loosen and
the tire to fall off, resultin g in death or serious injury.
⦁ Have the wheel nuts tightened with a torque wrench to 103 N·m (10.5
kgf·m, 76 ft·lbf) as soon as possible after changing wheels.
⦁ When installing a tire, only use whe el nuts that have been specifically
designed for that wheel.
⦁ If there are any cracks or deformations in the bolt screws, nut threads or
bolt holes of the wheel, have the vehi cle inspected by your Toyota dealer.
⦁ When installing the wheel nuts, be su re to install them with the tapered
ends facing inward. ( ➞P. 337)
Installing the spare tire
a Remove any dirt or foreign mat-

face
If the wheel contact surface is dirty, the
wheel nuts may loosen while the vehi-

discharged battery is removed, the en gine mode returns to the state before
removing the battery. Please remove the battery after turning the engine
switch “OFF”.
If you are not sure of the engine swit ch mode prior to battery discharge, be
especially careful when connecting the battery.
WARNING
⬛Avoiding battery fires or explosions
Observe the following precautions to prev ent the fire and sparks to be gener-

second vehicle and cause an explosion:
⚫Make sure each jumper cable is connec ted to the correct terminal and that it
is not unintentionally in contact with any other than the intended terminal.
⚫Do not allow the other end of the jump er cable connected to the “+” terminal
to come into contact with any other pa rts or metal surfaces in the area, such
as brackets or unpainted metal.
⚫Do not allow the + and - clamps of the jumper cables to come into contact
