The shift lever cannot be moved from P even if you depress
the brake pedal (continuously variable transmission vehicles)
⚫Is the engine switch “ON”?
If you cannot release the shift lever while depressing the brake pedal
with the engine switch “ON”, refer to ➞P. 191.
The steering wheel cannot be turned after the engine is
stopped
⚫Vehicles without key-free system
To prevent theft, it will be locked when the key is removed from the
engine switch. (➞ P. 181)
⚫Vehicles with key-free system
It is automatically locked to prevent theft of the vehicle. ( ➞P. 187)
The windows do not open or close by operating the power
window switches
⚫Isn’t the window lock switch pressed?
If the window lock switch is pressed, the power windows except for the
one at the driver’s seat cannot be operated. ( ➞P. 160)
The engine switch is turned off automatically
(vehicles with key-free system)
⚫The auto power OFF function will be operated if the vehicle is left “ACC”
or “ON” (the engine is not r unning) for a period of time. ( ➞P. 186)
A warning light or warning message
