RAIZE_OM_General_BZ358E
eIf your child restraint system is
not equipped with a lock off (a
seat belt locking feature), secure
the child restraint system using a
locking clip.
f After installing the child restraint system, rock it back and forth to
ensure that it is installed securely.
⬛Removing a child restraint syst em installed with a seat belt
Press the buckle release button and fully retract the seat belt.
When releasing the buckle, the child restraint system may spring up due to the
rebound of the seat cushion. Release the buckle while holding down the child
restraint system.
Since the seat belt automatically reels itself , slowly return it to the stowing position.
⬛When installing a child restraint system
You may need a locking clip to install the child restraint system. Follow the
instructions provided by the manufacturer of the system. If your child restraint
system does not provide a locking c lip, you can purchase the following item
from any authorized Toyota retailer or Toyota authorized repairer, or any relia-
ble repairer: Locking clip for child re straint system (Part No. 73119-22010)
WARNING
⬛When installing a child restraint system
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
⚫Do not allow children to play with the seat belt. If the seat belt becomes
twisted around a child’s neck, it may le ad to choking or other serious injuries
that could result in death. If this occurs and the buckle cannot be unfas-
tened, scissors should be used to cut the belt.
⚫Ensure that the belt and plate are secu rely locked and the seat belt is not
twisted.
⚫Shake the child restraint system left and right, and forward and backward to
ensure that it has been securely installed.
⚫After securing a child restraint system, never adjust the seat.

WARNING
Observe the following precautions. Failure to do so may result in death or seri-
ous injury.
⬛When towing the vehicle
Be sure to transport the vehicle with
the front wheels raised or with all four
wheels raised off the ground. If the

⚫Vehicles without key-free system: Do not tow the vehicle from the rear when
the engine switch is “OFF” or the key is removed. The steering lock mecha-

Using a flatbed truck
If your vehicle is transported by a
flatbed truck, it should be tied down
at the locations shown in the illustra-
tion.
After transportation, restore the lid
attached to the rear side.
If you use chains or cables to tie
down your vehicle, the angles
shaded in black must be 45°.
NOTICE
⬛Using a flatbed truck
Do not overly tighten the tie downs or the vehicle may be damaged.
Emergency towing
If a tow truck is not available in an emergency, your vehicle may be tempo-
rarily towed using cables or chains secured to the emergency towing eye-
lets. This should only be attempted on hard surfaced roads for at most 80
km (50 miles) at under 30 km/h (18 mph).
A driver must be in the vehicle to steer and operate the brakes.
The vehicle’s wheels, drive train, ax les, steering and brakes must be in
good condition.
