Before driving
Steering wheel (manually adjustable type)
CAUTION
■Caution while driving
Do not adjust the steering wheel while driving.
Doing so may cause the driver to mishandle the vehicle and an accident,
resulting in death or serious injury.
■ After adjusting the steering wheel
Make sure that the steering wheel is securely locked.
Otherwise, the steering wheel may move suddenly, possibly causing an
accident and resulting in death or serious injury.
The steering wheel can be adjust ed to a comfortable position.
Hold the steering wheel and
press the lever down.
Adjust to the ideal position by
moving the steering wheel
horizontally and vertically.
After adjustment, pull the lever
up to secure the steering
wheel.

Steering wheel (power-adjustable type)
Auto tilt awayWhen the key is removed from
the engine switch, the steering
wheel returns to its stowed posi-
tion by moving up and away to
enable easier driver entry and
exit.
Inserting the key into the engine
switch returns the steering wheel
to its original position.
The steering wheel can be adjusted to a comfortable position.

Anti-glare inside rear view mirror
Glare from the headlights of vehicles behind can be reduced by
using the following functions.
Manual anti-glare inside rear view mirrorNormal position

Adjusting the height of rear view mirror
Adjust the height of the rear view
mirror by moving it up and down.
Auto anti-glare inside rear view mirror
In automatic mode, sensors are used to detect the headlights of
vehicles behind and automatical ly reduces the reflected light.
Turns automatic mode ON/

The indicator comes on when
automatic mode is turned on.
The mirror will revert to the
automatic mode each time the
engine switch is turned on.

mirror)
■ If a sun visor inte rferes with the mirror

To ensure that the sensors operate prop-
erly, do not touch or cover them.
Hold and rotate the mirror to adjust the
support.

Outside rear view mirrors
Folding back the mirrorsFrom outside Push the mirrors towards the
back of the vehicle to fold them.
Mirror angle can be adjusted using the switch when the engine
switch is in the ACC or ON position.
Select a mirror to adjust.
(L: left or R: right)
Adjust the mirror up, down,
in or out using the switch.

From inside (if equipped)
Press the switch.
Pressing again will unfold the mir-
rors.
Linked mirror function when reversing (if equipped)
Press the switch to turn on/off
linked mirror function.
The outside rear view mirrors will
automatically tilt downwards
when the vehicle is in reverse, in
order to give a better view of
ground.

■When the mirrors are fogged up (veh icles with outside rear view mirror
defoggers)
Turn on the mirror defoggers to defog the mirrors. ( P. 292)
■ Automatic adjustment of the mirror angle (vehicles with driving posi-
tion memory)
A desired mirror face angle can be entered to memory and recalled automat-
ically by the driving position memory. ( P. 6 4 )
■ Auto anti-glare function (if equipped)
When the anti-glare inside rear view mirror is set to automatic mode, the out-
side rear view mirrors will activate in conjunction with the anti-glare inside
rear view mirror to reduce reflected light. ( P. 83)
CAUTION
■When driving the vehicle
Observe the following precautions while driving.
Failing to do so may result in loss of control of the vehicle and cause an acci-
dent, resulting in death or serious injury.
●Do not adjust the mirrors while driving.
● Do not drive with the mirrors folded back.
● Both the driver and passenger side mirrors must be extended and properly
adjusted before driving.
■ When a mirror is moving
To avoid personal injury and mirror malfunction, be careful not to get your
hand caught by the moving mirror.
■ When the mirror defoggers are operating (vehicles with outside rear
view mirror defoggers)
Do not touch the rear view mirror surfaces, as they can become very hot and
burn you.

NOTICE
■If ice should jam the mirror
Do not operate the control or scrape the mirror face. Use a spray de-icer to
free the mirror.

Roof luggage carrier
Adjustment the position of cross railsTurn the knobs counterclockwise
to loosen the cross rails.
Slide the cross rails to the appro-
priate position for loading lug-
gage.
After adjusting, be sure to tighten
the cross rails by turning knobs
clockwise.
